We will be back! The salsa was delicious. My husband can't stop thinking about his Al pastor tacos. My chimichanga was good. It was a bit on the dry side and will probably try something different next time. The meat flavor, beans, and rice were all good. We're happy we tried Los 2 Potrillos!

    Beautiful food and ambience.

DELICIOUS!! We just happened upon this delightful AUTHENTIC Mexican restaurant today---and scored!! We always judge a good Mexican restaurant by three things; their chips, salsa & guacamole. High SCORE! And the rest of our food was just as good. I've had lots of Hispanic food over the years and the HIGH SCORE is 100% deserved. The interior was also well decorated --- and the staff super competent. EXCELLENT.

    Carnitas. It was yummy!

Quick friendly service. Portions were big. Food was good. Cute decor, tables and artwork. Prices were pretty reasonable too

    Pineapple fajitas

Shared a Pino fajita with my wife. It was filled with delicious beef, chicken, shrimp, and pineapple. It also had a modest amount of peppers and onions. She likes the pineapple, which had huge chunks, and I like the shrimp. The thing that set it apart was that it was topped with a huge amount of cheese, which made a wonderful sauce. The cost was $28 which isn't bad between two people. We were not able to eat it all. They have really spruce the place up and it's got a wonderful decor. The service was very good with a complementary chips and salsa.

I really wanted to make this a five star review but want to make it clear that it's not quite that level. I would still recommend it and plan on going back when I am in the area. Los 2 Portillos is a nice little hidden gem that backs up its years of operation with a solid and authentic Mexican feel. Here are my thoughts. Service-Very friendly for the small area. Drinks were always filled and our needs were meet the entire time. It's got a very family run type feel and I love it. Food-We purchased the molcajete to share. Its full of carnitas, Asada, chicken and nopales. Along with that it came with tortillas, rice and beans. It was perfect and served in a huge dish. We loved the taste and felt that everything was cooked well. The Asada and carnitas were a little heavy on the grisly fat side, but nothing crazy. It was more then enough for the two of us. Location-Probably the only reason for knocking it down a star. The place definitely had some years on it. Some tables were stabilized by phone books and the place overall could have used a new layer of paint or a solid cleaning. It was not horrible, just showing signs of age. I hope you can make it out and enjoy the amazing food this place has to offer.

Hands down the best Mexican food place ever!! And I usually don't really like it much. So that's a lot to say for me. Authentic as is!!! Loved it!!

A must!! The food was very delicious and authentic! We come from Phoenix AZ and we make sure we stop here! Great service!

You're typical Mexican American comfort food kinda place... Where the plates are full of soupy beans and cheesy saucy entrées.

Hello foodies, I hope your summer of food has been good in light of the recession, jacked up prices and food availability! It's been a rough year for businesses with the rise in food prices, higher labor costs and worker availability thus many are cutting corners to survive which is what I feel about this Mexican joint. Now this place has a 4.5 rating but this was not our experience. I like the facility, quaint, but not modern. The waiter was great and service good. As a big taco lover it was a must to order the Carne, Chicken and Pork. The Tacos could not stand alone and needed condiment boosters to finish the consumption. The pork was dry, parts crispy with minimal flavor, Chicken was cubed and overcooked, and the Carne was made up of tiny pieces and also overcooked and crispy. Now we ordered a guacamole appetizer which was creamy, but not to our liking, tasted like it came form a store bought container. Maybe the issue here was a 2:30 lunch or other food options add up to a 4 but not the tacos and not on this day.

I was very impressed with the food here! We had just finished a long hike down south and stopped in to Spanish Fork to get some Mexican food. This place was surprisingly busy, well run, and the people were very kind. They have a great menu with just about any type of mexican food you can imagine on it. Everything looked great. I got the fajitas, which came out on a big sizzling skillet, with a large place of rice, beans, and tortillas. My husband tried the carne asada which was delicious!! Such great flavor, perfectly cooked, and came with all the toppings as well. I was surprised to find great Mexican food there!

Nice little spot on Main St. Good tortillas, beans and rice. My top things for a good Mexican restaurant. Pretty small dining room. Overall good value.

The green enchilada sauce was so fresh that I could taste the tomatillos as if they were plucked right off the vine! The melted cheese had that cheese pull that social media influencers go crazy for, and the corn tortillas tasted soft and comforting. This food rivals that of Sol Agave and Red Iguana. The interior is really cool too. Dimmed lighting, dark brown wooden floors that give it a sophisticated air, ropes and wood crates and a custom-designed counter that definitely takes you oceanside. We were some of the first customers to arrive on a Saturday and our food took a while to make (30-45 minutes). But the flavors, fresh ingredients and happy service that made us feel like family, all made it worth the wait.

We got the Tacos de Pescado (fish tacos) and Enchiladas Suizas w/ Chicken. A+ on the tacos. A++ on the enchiladas. It's a level up from other restaurants in the area. It is slightly more expensive ($15-20 entrees). Worth it. Fresh, made from scratch. Excellent guacamole and salsas. Amazing sauce on the enchiladas. The inside of the restaurant is designed really cool. It has cool brick, lanterns, painted areas. Awesome Mexican vibe, nice plates etc. It's a higher end feel. Good place for a date night but still has families in there. Our server was great, other people kept checking with us and they were very nice and pleasant. The manger (owner?) came by and I talked to her for a few minutes and told her how good our food was. She was telling me about how every single thing is made from scratch. It really was good. I was pretty surprised that this place has been just sitting there on Main Street in Payson. We're gonna head back and take our kids and try more stuff.

I was able to park out front pretty easy but backing out onto the busy street was not my favorite thing to do in the dark. There is some parking past the light on the right, I wish I knew that beforehand. The little building is chock full of charm, definitely one of those hole in the wall places that has been around forever. That being said, I didn't find their menu easy to read. It was all over the place and when I looked it up online, it was better but still kind of hard. To order, one of the girls waves you over to one of two windows and takes your order, but doesn't have you pay immediately and when you do get to pay, you don't see the card being charged right in front of you, it's whisked away to the back. So you awkwardly wait around until she calls you over with a very polite "hey you". She will then give you your items one by one as they are ready. So while one person finishes their shake, the next one starts on theirs and if you order fries, it's going to take an extra 30 minutes of waiting out in whatever weather. But they do have white sauce, so that is a point in their favor! I was excited to have my guy try this place and he didn't think it was all that great and I had to agree with him. Our food was fine. The experience was the letdown. Oh and the spoon cut up the sides of my mouth!
