We found a new great place for authentic Mexican food. We went for a birthday dinner. The place is…read morepretty small so an 8 person party was just the right size. There is a patio outside for additional seating. It is family owned and if there is one downside is that they are a little slow. But it's so worth it. Go if you're not in hurry. We got so much food: different tacos, quesadilla, elote, horchata, salsa, chips, and guacamole. It was all good. The elote was sweet, salty, and smokey. The chips were warm, the guacamole was creamy with a hint of spice. There was three distinct salsa, one green, two red. One red was super spicy. The horchata was frothy, nicely spiced, and just a little sweet. The tacos were really good. I had the fish, birria, and the surf n turf (shrimp and steak). The fish tasted fresh. The shrimp was bouncy and the steak was flavorful. The birria taco was one of the best birria taco I've had outside of San Diego. My daughter had the chicken quesadilla. She said it was very cheesy. For dessert we had their churros. It was freshly made. The filling tasted slightly like coffee and was molten hot. The caramel dip which was very pudding-like really added to the flavor of the churros. We found our new favorite taqueria.

I walked in after an afternoon of shopping in the area and sat at a table by myself. It's not a big or fancy restaurant. Definitely family owned business but you can really taste the love they put into their business. I ordered a watermelon mojito and it was so so good - like one of the best I've ever had. Then I ordered guacamole which they made fresh at the table. I thought that was pretty cool and don't see that often anymore. The enchiladas came with a savory salsa verde sauce and side of rice and beans! Everything was cooked to perfection. The owner was also my server! She was amazing (I didn't get her name) but she made my drink and made the guac too! I look forward to treating myself again to dinner here soon.

The staff is always incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the space itself is cozy and charming. The food and drinks are consistently phenomenal. I've probably tried just about everything on the menu at this point, and not a single dish has ever disappointed. Even though I don't usually like salmon, theirs is prepared so well that I actually enjoy it. Some of my personal favorites are the birria tacos, tortilla soup, and the wet burrito. The drinks are just as impressive, with a secret sangria recipe that's always a hit. My go to is the frozen watermelon margarita, refreshing and delicious every time. As a longtime regular, I can confidently say that once you try La Casita, you'll be hooked and want to come back again and again.

Around 6:30pm, it was easy for the four of us to snag a table in the back, near the back patio, but there is some seating in the front part of the restaurant as well. I ordered one of their mezcal cocktails with a Tajín rim (El Amante) which was yummy then we started with an order of chips and salsa, chips and guacamole and esquites. The esquites was fantastic, but we wished the guac was larger and came with more chips. For my entree, I ordered a tripa taco and a cecina taco. I cannot decide between a favorite because they were both so good. The tripa was crispy and tender in all the right places. I was worried about the cecina taco being too salty but that wasn't the case, it was perfection. We all appreciated how they served each taco with double corn tortillas, so they held up well. And of course, we couldn't leave without trying the churros. They were just the right size 2 people to share in my opinion but we were all pretty satisfied by then so we were ok splitting 4 ways. Our waiter was really funny and checked up on us regularly. The music here was also great (a lot of Bad Bunny), and the decor was on point. Good food and a great atmosphere!

Nenes is something like the in n out of nyc. When my friend and I saw the storefront, the line was out the door. Many years ago back in LA, I had a mediocre cactus dish at a diner and never looked back. My friend went for a cactus mulita and I took a bite that turned into two more big ones. The cactus was crazy delicious with gobs of pull apart cheese, crispy browned edges, thick corn tortilla flavor, and spicy mango salsa, and pickled onion. When you come to nenes, you forget the line and wait. You transfigure into sheep and are happily a part of the herd. The only thing everyone is thinking are the minutes on the clock before annihilating the food.

However, I felt like the meat was a little dry and could have used a little more flavor, but overall it was solid. I do really like the sauce bar they have! The orange salsa was sweet and smoky and spicy, and the green salsa was very solid, and I liked the pickled radish as well. The service is very efficient, and the ambience inside feels very no-frills and authentic. Overall, I would recommend this place if you're looking for a good quick value meal.

They were playing the World Cups on the TVs inside, but thankfully had the audio on the outdoor speakers, and we could watch through the glass windows. Service took a bit to come out and give us waters, menus and drinks. My friend ordered a Strawberry Lemonade which she found too artificial tasting, but the Modelos my boyfriend ordered hit the spot. You get a small basket of chips and what tasted like jarred Tostitos salsa to start. While I wasn't a fan of this at all, the Super Nacho Macho was fantastic! A healthy mix of all toppings, plus we added delicious carne asada meat on top. Sharing would have been perfect with this, but we weren't given small plates so my friends kept dropping food on the table, and sometimes on their pants since the outside tables were slats of wood. I still think this was a great starter. For our mains, I ordered a chorizo taco, my partner had his very first torta (Chicken à la Milanesa), and my friends ordered an Al Pastor enchilada, a chicken tostada, and a fish taco. We also ordered a plate of plain fries that were soo good. The kind that are somewhat thin and all crispy and perfectly salted mmmm. My taco was proper and perfect. They didn't skimp on any ingredients. We were also really impressed with the torta, especially how tasty and fresh the bread tasted. While the service wasn't the best, it seemed like there was only one guy running front of house, and the food made up for it. The ambiance itself was really cute too! I could see myself coming here to smash some drinks and tacos and watch another game for sure.
