Ecstatic, she ordered a queso birria. Both she and Helsen waited for the food, which did not take long to arrive. She was pleased with her meal--absolutely delectable, incredibly filling and oozing with flavor, there was so much meat and it was so tender it was spilling out the tortilla. She was being stingy because it was soooo good. I had eaten before but regretted it the moment the lady brought out her food. I feel like small places are the authentic ones based on my experinced. I found this place because were supposed to go to another taco place & its close so we ended up here. Its small with cute decor. We got seated & after 5 minutes the place got packed. To start they gave us complimentary chips & salsa. The salsa is perfect, you taste a bit of spicy & smells the aroma of the tomato. Some restaurants if its free then don't expect that it will be that good. For drinks I got horchata & I really like it. Not super sweet & no after taste. For our main dish we got 2 chorizo taco for $2.50 each. Its delicious! I also got shrimp, avocado salad with lettuce, tomato & a lot more. This is perfect! I really love it. Lots of avocado & shrimp. My bf got the cuban tortas, it has ham, cheese & a lot more. He loves it were planning to go back again. We really enjoyed it. Service & food was top notch! read more

Ouch! Just paid $28+ for two tacos, two soda CANS, and a flan. Say whaaa? The ambiance is nice and looks almost like a Mexican canteen, and the food is yummy. But dang that hurt. That means they charged me $4 for tacos & way too much for a can of soda...in Corona, Queens! I'm also a good tipper ever since the pandemic to try to show my appreciation & acknowledgment to the delivery person for what they do.. but that meant me lowering my tip :( I hope the restaurant gives him a good wage. P.S. the flan is smaller than what it used to be, yet costs more! read more

Solid place for Mexican food if you're ever in the Corona area. I went on a weekday for a late lunch and the place was quite empty. I saw on yelp that they had good and affordable tacos, so I wanted to check it out. The taco prices have now increased from $2.50 to $3.00, but the environment was new and clean, so I didn't mind the price jump too much. I got one chicken and one bistec taco. Since I was dining in, I also got complimentary chips with salsa. The chips were fried nicely and paired well with the salsa. The tacos themselves were also quite good. The corn tortillas had the perfect bite to them and there were also generous helpings of toppings and guacamole. The chicken was tender, but the bistec was too tough and dry. The tacos were a decent size and with all the chips, I was definitely full afterwards. Overall, it was a good experience and if I was ever in the area again and craving tacos, I might stop by for takeout. However, I wouldn't say it's worth making a special trip for. read more

The interior of the place it's very Mexican due to the fact it's a Mexican place ?! It feels like your in Mexico literally. Hottttt Damn! Great food at affordable prices. I highly recommend you stop here before or after you check out the queens zoo or hall of science. It's an easy walk and there is plenty of free street parking nearby. I went on a weekday and there was no one else in the restaurant. I tried a taco al pastor, a shrimp tostada, and a chorizo sope (sopes?). All were very very good, with my favorite being the shrimp tostada. The tacos come with guac while the sopes and tostadas come with Mexican cheese, beans, and crema, the tostadas are crunchy and the sopes are soft (and homemade) so it was definitely fun to try all three. By the way, this was way too much food for one person, each item comes packed with your choice of protein. Come hungry, bring a friend, and explore the menu. I use to love his place, but recently their service has gotten really bad. When you give them specific instructions they completely ignore them. For example, if I say no cream, my order comes with extra cream. This is not the first time. Delivery takes over an hour and your order comes all messed up. My bf took me here so I really wanted to like this place a lot..but... Well, they started off well with the chips and salsa. Salsa was FLAVORFUL - a bit of sweet, salty, and sour - altogether a good time in my mouth. It tasted fresh, too. I can't wait to try their menu! 1st strike - were not serving the smoothies on the menu. Bummer. So I settled with a horchata. Not sure if it's the "authentic way" of making it, but this horchata had a coarse texture and I almost choked. It was not blended/mixed well. There were some debris on the bottom of the glass. 2nd strike - were not serving the entrana (skirt steak). In the entree category, a skirt steak should be one of the most common dishes in a Mexican restaurant, no? Well, I wanted it and they didn't have it. WHAT? I could let go of the smoothies, but no skirt steak? =/ The waitress recommended the beef chop, which I was not sure about but I went for it anyway. It came with rice, beans, and a salad. The avocados on the salad were beautiful, but...where is my dressing? My bf seemed to think that the "dressing" is something that you can make yourself with the sliced limes around the salad and the salt and pepper on the table. I was not expecting this. The salad was dry and I doubt the few lime slices they provided was going to produce enough to accompany it. Is this typical in Mexican restaurants or do they normally give some kind of dressing that you don't have to squeeze yourself? Fine, I let that one slide too. We got carne enchilada tacos, which were pretty delish. But I feel that I can get them elsewhere with similar quality. We asked for some hot sauce. I was hoping they'd give us a spicy green one, but instead they gave us the red one with no flavor. I think it was the chipotle sauce. Honestly, I can't say much about the beef chop. The middle part was okay but I had a hard time cutting a good chunk of it. Surprisingly, I would come back to try their other dishes. Food was very good, prices very reasonable. I had chicken enchilada and tongue tacos. Enchilada was great, taco was too (I prefer shredded tongue to chopped, this was the latter, but still good). Taco was very big too, I assume all variety's are the same. I will definitely come back. Food was great and reasonable with good (large) portions. I'm a native Tex-Mex who recently moved to NY so let's start with that. These tacos are better than most places I've tried so far in Queens. The meat has fat left in it but they put a lot of meat so its forgivable. The meat is also flavorful. The bistec and carnitas were both good but I'd recommend staying away from lengua, UT looked and tasted like it had been sitting out. I asked for agua horchata and they were out so we opted for melon. It was fresh made from real fruit! Very tasty! I'm still looking for real authentic Mexican tacos but these will do for now. read more

First time there i ordered a al pastor taco, a chicken torta, and a bistec sopa. I sat down was served chips and salsa with my drink and a glass with ice for it service was nothing special she was attentive when i needed something like extra napkins but thats all. Now lets get to the food the al pastor taco was delicious pork was easy to chew and had great flavor. The chicken torta was nice tasty chicken topped with blacked beans mexican crema, shredded lettuce and cheese tortas are one of my favorite mexican foods and i definitely enjoyed this one. Lastly the the bistec sopa pretty much similar to a torta but instead of the crispy shell its a soft thick flour shell similar to the torta same toppings the steak was nice and thin easy to chew as well i hate fatty meat so overall good experience with authentic Mexican style food will be sure to stop im again if im in the area! read more

The food is amazing and they have a good buisness operation going on. They have food trucks all over the city and their quality has been consistent. Luckily I have the restaurant near my house though the girl at the restaurant may not be the friendliest. The food is really good so don't be discouraged to give them a try. All tacos are delicious except the chorizo. That was not so great. Service is AWFUL. It can't get any slower and it is TIGHT in there. This place may seem small, but for my squisite palette the food is well prepared. Although you may need to ask for this and that so make sure to ask before and during for dressing, or other condiments. Service is very slow. Waitress did not know how to take priority. She spend time cleaning the table when the restaurant was empty and we were waiting for her to give us a menu and take order and collect money in the end. No chips and salsa. Food is very very salty. I drink up 2 cups of water. Be prepare to look swollen the next day you wake up. To the Restaurant owner, please cut down the salt for your customer or we all get hypertension. read more
