I came after a long day at work and the staff were very agreeable and pleasant. It was quiet at 7pm on a Monday, but still most tables were filled. A small parking lot but lots of street parking. Came with crispy chips & there was a salsa bar. Always love a roasted salsa. The Del Mar was so fruity and creamy compared to the other savory dishes I had here before. I love the greens with the peeled oranges. The halibut was buried under a mountain of cabbage that reminded me of coleslaw. I would come here again

This place is incredible. I was highly impressed with my dinner at Los Agaves in Santa Barbara. Stopped by around 530 for dinner with my wife and a co worker and we walked right up and ordered. I got the fajitas with a cold draft beer and this cost me $30 bucks. IT WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY. After hitting their amazing salsa bar and sitting at our table, I realized how packed the resteraunt had gotten. They were so busy!! Our food was out within 10-15 minutes and man this food was so authentic and flavorful. Probably some of the best chicken and steak fajitas I've had in awhile. Truly a 10/10. I really can't reccomend this place enough if your looking for Mexican food for lunch/dinner. Make sure to grab the fajitas if your a fajita fan like me. Thanks Los Agaves for this memorable meal, we will defenitly be back, thank you!

The food is so flavorful, the staff is so friendly and attentive . The service was phenomenal. Little to no wait at all . The girl who attended us was such a delight and very sweet as well . The food was fresh and filling could have gotten less items !

Another great visit to Los Agaves in Santa Barbara. The place was decorated for Christmas and has been remodeled recently it looks fantastic. The festive vibe made the experience even better and as always the food was fresh flavorful and on point. Los Agaves never disappoints and continues to be one of my go to spots in town.

The bartender was fantastic today. He made me the best mango margarita mocktail. The tacos birria on happy hour were delicious. My husband enjoyed his sopas. The salsas were to die for...so good. Everyone else enjoyed their drinks as well. Wonderful spot for lunch or happy hour! It's so nice and open! Yummmm! We will be back!

The staff is always super friendly. And the food... it's soooo delicious!!!! We always get the enchiladas and the salads are so fresh. We are from Las Vegas and come to Santa Barbara for vacation and always stop here it's a must.

Los Agaves on De La Vina did a little remodel and it definitely makes the experience there even better. They now have a bar area and a terrific happy hour Monday to Friday 1pm to 6 pm, crazy. This place is fun, large menu, great for families, or friends or just you and your bestie. Food tasty, service great and friendly. Oh, and don't forget the fabulous condiment, salsa bar. I don't think any other Mexican restaurant around can top their salsa bar. They do get busy at the dinner hour but they still give everyone great service and food; you may just have a little longer wait. But, just sit back and sip on your drink and enjoy the chips and salsa.

    The ambient is great

Excelente servicio, mejor clomida auténtica mexicana. El servicio en español es muy bueno y los meseros muy prontos a ayudar.

Lots of good food options. It's an order at the counter type spot, so perfect for a quick lunch. The food came out very quickly, and service was good, tables were cleared pretty quickly after we finished eating. I got the crispy chicken tacos. Chicken had a good flavor, my only gripe was the taco shell was quite greasy. Other than that the meal was good, and the salsa bar was great. Lots of options.

We eat here about once to twice a week, the Mexican rice tastes like home, the beans are great. Our absolute favorites are Agaves Enchiladas, Fajitas Del Mar, Queso Fundido = OMG, Pescado Veracruzano, All Molcajetes are perfection, the crispy chicken and beef tacos are a guilty pleasure, Alambres are delicious, Ensalada Vallarta, Camarones Guajillo, Camarones Culichi are delectable as are the Pescado Culichi and the Chili Relleno is always a winner. I honestly can't think of one think on this menu that doesn't taste delicious. We're pretty addicted. The service and the staff are wonderful, great ambiance, excellent though overpriced margaritas, and the salsa bar is mouthwatering. The avocado salsa alone is worth taking cats home if you can swing it. You've been warned ;-)!

    Are dogs allowed on patio?

I only did takeout but I saw a couple tables with dogs accompanying them. I would call to double check

    Do you have jalapeño margaritas?

Not always. Currently they have blood orange and mango.

The Bahn Mi, KBBQ, Shrimp, and Poke tacos are my personal favorites. They also serve classics like burgers and fish n' chips, and have options for the little ones. They are located right next to the batting cages, so it can get loud, but it's a nice spot to sit outside and watch others bat while you play (or go batting yourself after)! A casual, non-pretentious spot to grab some great food and drinks (they do serve beer!). They are popular, so the line can get long at times, but it does move quickly as they are quick to take and serve orders. I personally love picking up their Triple Play combo, which consists of 3 tacos and some chips and salsa, and going to eat on East Beach near by. I highly recommend trying, if you haven't tried them yet.

For a refreshment stand for batting cages, we didn't expect one of the tacos to have an amazing wasabi aioli on it and the guacamole to be perfectly seasoned. Even the orange sauce on the side exceeded our expectations. Only thing I can see that could be improved is the dryness of the chicken taqultos. I'd recommend to get pork ones instead. Overall though, 10/10 would come again!

Back to table service! Yay!!!…read more Attractive and very clean restaurant with great service. Truly delicious Mexican food. I love pozole - Cc's rendition is top notch and comes with all the extras to put in the soup including avocado, chopped onion, a whole fried tortilla to break up into the broth and Mexican oregano (the small is more than enough for one hungry person or to share with two).Homemade chips come with a four salsa selection ranging substantially hot to a delicate tomatillo green. I tried my tablemate's tacos, all three varieties were very very good. You order at the counter and are given a buzzer. Prices are HIGH. A single taco starts at $5.95 for sweet potato, then goes as high as $10.95 for one taco. They make their own blue corn tortillas from scratch, so that your tacos will be on freshly griddled tortillas. Al pastor is my favorite so I had to get one of those ($6.95). This was probably the most disappointing al pastor I have ever had. It was burnt and very salty and the flavor seemed a bit off. Some of the pineapple was not ripe. I'm glad that my husband pushed me to order another taco - this one the corriente - a shrimp taco ($8.95). This was infinitely better, with perfectly cooked shrimp. If I had just ordered this taco, my review would have been higher! Maybe I came on an off day, because other reviews seem to like the al pastor. The tortillas are terrific and I would be curious to try other tacos on their menu.

Los Agaves On De Lavina St. -- A Rare Review from Someone Who Hates Writing Reviews…read moreI spent 25 years owning a business. I know what good service looks like, and I know what entitled looks like. I never write reviews -- I watched Yelp destroy good people over bad nights, and I swore I'd stay out of it. Tonight changed that. I sat at the bar. It took the bartender over five minutes to acknowledge I existed. Another five to ten to deliver a Coke. I ordered dinner and waited forty minutes -- which I might have forgiven, except getting his attention was nearly impossible the entire night. No eye contact. Body language that made clear I was an inconvenience, not a guest. Every interaction felt like I was interrupting something more important. When I finally got him to check on my order, he went to the computer and discovered he'd never placed it. I walked out. I noticed the people around me weren't faring much better. The slowness wasn't just my experience -- it was the room. Los Agaves appears to be a popular place, and maybe on another night with another bartender it earns that reputation. But entitlement has a way of spreading when nobody checks it. I hope management is paying attention -- because a beautiful restaurant dies one invisible guest at a time.
