Located under the El on 31st in Astoria, this clean but cozy, dark, and loud establishment is like any good Mexican restaurant should be. My family and I came for lunch today, as some were first-timers, and we had the whole place to ourselves. We were greeted by the staff and seated promptly with Mexican wall decor and music blasting. We all decided on the combination platter, which was accompanied by Mexican rice and refried beans. Nacho chips with salsa started our meal. I decided on my hibiscus tea (agua de Jamaica), which was refreshing. The presentation was impeccable; however, sadly, they lacked savory seasoning. The waitress was on point; she magically showed up when needed. The price was affordable, but there was a separate cost for cash and cards. We had a nice time, but I don't see returning soon.

A lot of issues with this Mexican restaurant A lot of issues with this Mexican restaurant. Service is poor slow, and they appear to be language barriers. I came here last Thursday. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and got back what looked like two burritos. The food was $16. It's safe to say I will not be back

Mehh the food here I would say is mediocre. It's unfortunate because it's the only Mexican spot close to where I live but if I had other options I would definitely check those spots out than come here. This place is like a last minute option for me. The service here is wonky. They are nice but not attentive; we had to flag them down every now and then to ask for more water. I got the carnitas tacos which was yummy but very greasy. I ordered three but two would've been just enough. My bf got the vegetable burrito with rice and beans but wasn't satisfied. The frozen margaritas are mehhh as well. They were halfway melted when we received them. You can definitely find better margaritas elsewhere.

If you're looking for really good Mexican food and margaritas in the area, this is your place. Their chimichangas are my favorite. One of the best I ever had. Also, their margaritas pack a good punch for $13 (large). Pro tip: If you're looking for great service, this isn't the best option. I would either recommend ordering out or coming for a good margarita.

Well, the only good thing here is the service. We came here looking for authentic Margaritas, total disappointment. We sat down outside, awful! the train will not let you hear anything or even talk. The server came really fast, which is why the 2 star. We ordered some Margaritas with Corona and because the governor's Order we ordered some chips. The chips were old, terrible for a Mexican restaurant and the Margaritas tasted more to water with corona than actually a Margarita. Total disenchantment. Expensive Margaritas with no tequila , only water , no thanks ! Next! Bathrooms were clean.

Ordered a quick lunch. Got some flautas and a tamal. Tamal was pretty good, masa had nice flavor, pork was not cooked enough for my liking. The flautas are good, would prefer no red sauce and a pinch more salt but not bad for price. Will try this spot again.

Great Mexican spot. Came here with a friend for dinner on a Saturday and was seated right away. It was a weekend night so we had to get a drink. I ordered the Strawberry Bulldog which was pretty strong and yummy. To eat I had the Huevo Con Chorizo Torta. Overall, really good and filling but a little bit heavy by the time I finished it. Glad I got to check this spot out.

Food is not bad it's ok. I got a tamal and nachos for lunch. The tamal was moist and soft but it needs more sauce. The nachos were ok I prefer them with less cheese.

All their locations have pretty good ratings so I can't really go wrong. Came around 11am on a weekend and it was busy but there were tables available. The tables are arranged pretty strategically to fit as many as possible, which isn't the best for comfort. The service is nice here. The menu is in Spanish but they do have an English menu if you scan a QR code. I ordered the craken taco, costra taco, verde aguachile mixtos, a half dozen grilled shrimps, a la exotica, and guac with fried octopus. Everything was delicious! This place did not disappoint. Although, next time I'd probably skip the Craken taco and verde aguachile even though these two are a top recommendation. My favorite dish was probably the grilled shrimp. The way they grill it really brings out the sweetness and flavor of the shrimp. I personally enjoyed the la exotica more than the aguachile. The guac was also really good and the fried octopus was a good addition. I will definitely go to their other locations. This is a must try for seafood lovers.

They offer a different special for any day of the week, first time around on a Thursday Margaritas special , Tamarind & Mango nice big glass great margaritas, good tasty & nice & strong They start u off with some cake pieces, has a banana bread taste very good. Apps , we tried the Tostones con Birria very good great tasting meat & Chorizo Mac & cheese , also very good. Main dishes , Al pastor tacos & Chicken Burrito were both very good. Next time we stopped by for brunch, we got the bottomless option tried the Sangrita white, good sangrita price wise makes sense assuming u drinking more than 3-4 glasses a person. On the food Carnitas Benedict & short rib hash were both very tasty. For dessert gave the Tres Leches a try not bad, just the right amount of sweet. Another brunch visit & we tried Paloma spritz, good & Mexican coffee, pretty strong in taste. Chicken & waffles topped with bacon, very good chicken good combo dish. & the Lady's enchiladas great taste the enchiladas w the green sauce & cheese on top. Good size restaurant, small bar area towards the back, simple but colorful decor. Service overall has been good, they are attentive. Reasonable prices & u get a decent amount of food. My only complaint for the esquite was that it had a little too much water and mayo but other than that, the corn was sweet and all the seasoning was perfect and hit the spot! The main reason why this is one of my go to places now though is because of the smoothies. I haven't been too often just yet but the smoothies that I have tried from then so far have been absolutely perfect. I am just glad that I found this spot as the weather is getting warmer because I know I will be craving smoothies more often. The place is quite small and it was quite dim when I went in. They do have a couple of tables and seats as well. The service was also great. They were very sweet and our items came out in a timely manner.

We also ordered elote which is rolled up in tin foil. It was spicy for my palate and the crumbly cheese was okay. Just wasn't for my taste at all. But corn cleared my palate for the next bite. The rice in the burrito was undercooked. Some part of the grain was crunchy, but my boyfriend didn't notice it. I think I'll give this place another try.

Ironically, earlier while trying to decide where to go for dinner, I had sent this restaurant to my friend but we ended up going somewhere else and came here for drinks afterward. The drinks were really good! We tried the "Sexy Oaxaca," which consists of 7 Misterios Doba-Yej Mezcal, Cointreau, grilled pineapple, mint agave, fresh lemon, and warm salt. This drink takes your taste buds on a ride. It starts off light and refreshing with the mezcal throughout, then finishes with a smoky effect from the pineapple since it's lit. It was really good!! I also tried the "VIP Old Fashion," made with Patrón Extra Añejo, Nixta corn liqueur, Angostura, and orange bitters. This was also good and was smoked prior to being served, giving it a smoky aftertaste. It's definitely a drink you sip slowly. Although we arrived about an hour and a half before closing, the waiter was very polite and professional. They also didn't rush us out once it was closing time, which I appreciated. There were other customers still there enjoying themselves as well. I will definitely be back for dinner. I'm very curious to see what the food is like. I really enjoyed the drinks.
