If you're looking for a flavorful, refreshing, and authentic Mexican bite, this is the place to go. Everything we got was great, from the hot food, like the grilled shrimp and the tacos, to the cold food, like the ceviche, guacamole, and aguas chiles. Everything was superb. The service was super fast and friendly, and the ambiance inside was great. They even had a live mariachi band playing! We did wait in line about 30 minutes, but I feel like it moved pretty quickly considering how long it was.

Haven't been here in a while so we decided to have dinner here since we were in the area. No line on a Tuesday night, lots of tables available. We ordered The Craken, submarino ceviche, a dozen grilled shrimps, and a tequila margarita. Food came pretty quick...I thought the Craken would've had a slightly bigger piece of octopus but it was cooked well. Buttery, very tasty. The ceviche tasted less sour than we recalled which we preferred. We added some hot sauce for added heat. The shrimps were a lil more charred than pictured but still good. Margarita was okay. Didn't order too much since we were going to get food elsewhere but we did like everything. The food tastes better than before.

One of the best in Jackson Heights! Food is fresh, staff are friendly and tables are clean. The aguachiles is delish --I've had both the negro and verde and prefer the negro. Their el gobernador is one of my fave tacos! Shrimp is sweet and probably the biggest sized taco on the menu. The craken is also a great choice as it's grilled to perfection. And lastly do get the grilled shrimp... they are divine and you can taste the smokiness from the grilling.

I got takeout from here and I think this place is pretty good value for price in terms of seafood. The peel off seared shrimps were very delicious and tender and naturally sweet. I should have saved the heads to make stock or something haha. The ceviche el submarino was also delicious and I think the octopus tacos were a little bit chewy but still pretty good. My favorite bites from this meal were definitely the shrimps!

Service is great however this place does have a waiting time on wkends approx 30 mins. It's not a big deal for me I do not mind the wait. To the food, some of the best seafood tacos I've had in the east coast hands down. If you haven't try or contemplating , we'll stop it, just go! It's worth it.

All positive reviews of this establishment are valid! The food is amazing, the service is great, and the vibes are Mexican! I had a fish taco, verde aguachile, chips & guac w/octopus, and ceviche. The ceviche was my favorite. Everything slapped! The seafood tasted fresh and everything was properly seasoned. I was so busy enjoying the food that I forgot to snap a pic of the aguachile. There may be a bit of a wait to get in but it's worth it. I have nothing but good things to say. This is a Queens gem

Gave Mariscos El Submarino another try after 9 months. Since we only had the aguachile last time and didn't try any of the other options, it felt like I missed a huge chunk of the menu. I have had a number of really great aguachiles since then so it was time to compare it to the rest. We decided to try a little bit of everything! We ordered grilled prawns, shrimp and cheese taco, steak taco, octopus taco, and guacamole with fried octopus. The tacos were very good especially the steak tacos! Each taco had melted cheese in the center which made each bite soft and squishy. The grilled prawns were smoky and half a dozen was perfect for 2 people. The verde aguachile mixtos tasted more refined than our original experience and they've now added cooked shrimp along with raw shrimp, fish, and cooked octopus. There's definitely a lot of seafood so the value was absolutely there with chunks of cucumber, onion and avocado. I get it now!

A neighborhood gem. Everything was fresh and tasty. Service was friendly. They try their best when it gets busy. Chill vibe, makes you feel like you transported to another country. Liked: EL GOBERNADOR, THE CRAKEN, TROPICAL (spicy!!), the grilled shrimps!

Worth the line outside! Staff are very kind and food comes out fast. Loved my Agua de Tamarindo, refreshing, light and tangy. The Aguachiles Verde was amazing, loved my pescado taco, and the tostadas consentida. the Ceviche El Submarino was delicious and the Torres La Chaparitta was tasty and beautifully presented but we weren't all crazy about the base sauce. Everything was so fresh, tangy and light and healthy! The extra tostadas made it so easy to clean out our plates. The grilled octopus in the guacamole was amazing!!

I went on a Friday evening and it was pretty full upon arrival, we waited outside for about 5-10 mins before we got a table. I was so excited to order because I've been hearing such amazing things about this spot so I ordered a few different things to try. What really stood out to me was the freshness. Everything was amazing and you could tell that it was made with love. My absolute favorites were the Aguachilles, the oysters and the Vaso Chelada a beer with lemon and salt. This is such an authentic vibe. I loved the singer that came around, service was great and I'm genuinely looking forward to returning especially this summer. Try to arrive early because it gets busy!

What an absolutely incredible experience here. We waited in line for about 15-20 mins before we got seated, once we were seated our server Andrew was very polite and recommended a bunch of different items to try since this was our first time here. We got two different we got two diff mixtos, the craken tacos, the la cosentida tostada, and steak tacos. Oh we also got a dozen of their shrimp. Everything was absolutely incredible. The food was outstanding, the service was great. It is a nice small place that is kept very clean. Overall this is a must try. Absolutely delicious.

Good spot. Probably the best ceviche in New York. Was super packed and it lived to its hype. Def a must try. Service was so-so, my party was pressed about the tip.

Food: The food is excellent here! We asked our server for recommendations and ended up trying the shrimp taco, octopus taco, fish ceviche, and aguachile. All dishes were delicious but we loved the ceviche and aguachile the most. The ceviche was fresh, delicious, and full of flavor. Fish, cucumbers, onions, and tomatoes were diced very small and served with chips on the side. The server came around and offered us more chips throughout the meal. The aguachile was also very fresh. The one we chose had fish, shrimp, and octopus. I would highly recommend any of the ceviche snd aguachile dishes. The tacos were good, but I wish they were served hotter. The flavor was good, and it was packed with seafood. If you like octopus, I would recommend the octopus taco. Service: Service was phenomenal. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and taken care of. A manager came over to take our order, and he very patiently gave us recommendations and explained the menu to us. He was friendly and very welcoming. Our server checked in on us throughout the meal and was super attentive. She offered us chips, took out our empty dishes, and asked us if we needed anything. Very lovely staff! Ambiance: The decor and vibe is very nice! The place is very bright and kept clean. There are many tables in the place. Both large and small groups can be accommodated. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!

The seasoning was tasty and had a decent spice kick. The more pounds you order, the more sides you get. They have a list of market prices. The staffs were very low energies when we visited on a weekend night. The overall ambiance and interaction made us feel a little uncomfortable. We ordered: - eggplant dip - fries - Greek salad (large) - cooked fish - calamari - octopus Honestly I was so disappointed with the food. It didn't taste as fresh and was overall too salty. The eggplant dip had a weird taste. Friend fries were not as crispy and unevenly distributed portions of salt. The calamari was nothing special. The fish was okay, and the octopus was so salty we actually sent back the dish. It was very difficult to enjoy it. The staff was so accommodating and actually took the dish off our bill. (Thank you!! - great customer service!). My favorite item was probably the Greek salad, but then again it's hard to mess up a salad. Upon arrival you're greeted with a small, no-frills restaurant that moves people in and out relatively efficiently. You start the process by moving to the front and picking out the fresh fish you'd like for your meal. The gentlemen up front will then weigh it out and ask you how you'd like it prepared. My group ended up grabbing calamari, octopus tentacles, scallops, and a whole fish. We also ordered some baba ghanoush and eggplant with tomato on the side. The scallops and octopus, both of which we ordered grilled, came out first and were excellent! The scallops were soft and buttery with great texture and flavor. The octopus was the star of the show with an excellent bite and texture and great flavor from the olive oil and garlic coating it. Our order of fried calamari was also super tasty. It seems like they sprinked a special spice blend over it to give it some extra kick. Our last fish course was a whole fish served Egyptian style with blackened seasoning. The skin of the fish was amazing. It had a citrusy/salty flavor that was followed by the freshness of the herbs stuffed inside the fish. Our sides were also great with the baba ghanoush being my favorite dip. I give Abuqir top marks for their food and service. The cooks were very helpful in assisting us with making our fish selections and everything was cooked to perfection.
