They offer a different special for any day of the week, first time around on a Thursday Margaritas special , Tamarind & Mango nice big glass great margaritas, good tasty & nice & strong They start u off with some cake pieces, has a banana bread taste very good. Apps , we tried the Tostones con Birria very good great tasting meat & Chorizo Mac & cheese , also very good. Main dishes , Al pastor tacos & Chicken Burrito were both very good. Next time we stopped by for brunch, we got the bottomless option tried the Sangrita white, good sangrita price wise makes sense assuming u drinking more than 3-4 glasses a person. On the food Carnitas Benedict & short rib hash were both very tasty. For dessert gave the Tres Leches a try not bad, just the right amount of sweet. Another brunch visit & we tried Paloma spritz, good & Mexican coffee, pretty strong in taste. Of particular note are the house specialty of perfectly fried fish tacos, surely among the better versions I've sampled in NYC, if just shy of the ones served by my beloved Tacoway Beach (fka Rockaway Taco). The places real secret weapon is it's bar however as not only do they bartenders have a deft hand with the assorted Margaritas and other Mexican cocktails on offer (also discounted at happy hours and for various daily specials) but the place has one of the more impressive selections of tequilas and mezcals I've seen around town including at much more high-falutin and pricy establishments, in spite of it's supremely low key and casual atmosphere. Sitting on the corner with large windows to people watch this ample tabled eatery is a must visit. The menu makes it pretty hard to choose what to eat when everything sounds so good. If you drink there's also an extensive drink menu. The staff was friendly and very efficient taking orders and quickly bringing out your items. You must order the guacamole with the sea salted chips, it's perfectly seasoned. Fish tacos on deck are a hefty portion and a lovely complex flavor to the fish. Came across this spot while searching for taco options. Laly's is a great spot full of variety and flavor. The menu strikes more like Mexican inspired diner, tons of breakfast and main meal options with Mexican inspired flavors and flair. We had the cheese flautas which were incredibly flavored and garnished as well as birria tostones. The cemita burger was an excellent touch. Combining the traditional flavors and ingredients of a cemita sandwich with a great hand formed burger patty was an excellent touch. Agua fresca michelada is a menu item I've never and was full of great flavor. Excellent, fast, helpful servers rounded out a really great lunch experience. We all got coffee, which wasn't the best nor was it the worst. ​I have been a frequent customer of Laly's for years, but after my experience on 2/15/26, I will not be ordering again. I placed a delivery order that never arrived. When I called the restaurant to find out what happened, I was told it had been 'delivered to someone'--but that person was not me. ​Most frustratingly, the staff offered zero help. They simply told me 'there was nothing they could do' and essentially shrugged off the fact that they took my money but failed to provide the food. No offer for a refund, no offer to redeliver, and zero accountability for their mistake. Luckily Seamless was extremely helpful and gave me a refund. Next day I emailed the restaurant telling them about my experience and why I would not return, but as of this time I have not received a response. A loyal customer should never be treated with such disrespect. read more

I wanted to venture beyond my usual neighborhood of LIC, so I decided to explore brunch options in Jackson Heights. Laly's menu caught my attention when I saw the paloma spritz. I couldn't resist the temptation and knew I had to give it a try. Additionally, they offered a variety of savory vegetarian brunch options which intrigued me. Upon arriving, I found the place to be charming with a local atmosphere. It had a spacious and clean interior, although it didn't particularly focus on aesthetics. Since it was Mother's Day, they were even handing out roses to all the mothers, which I thought was cute. As for the food and drinks, the paloma spritz exceeded my expectations. It was perfectly balanced and incredibly refreshing. For my main course, I opted for the vegetarian breakfast enchiladas. They were delicious and left and very filling. I was initially concerned about the habanero sauce as I'm not a fan of spicy food, but the waiter reassured me that the habanero was just one of several ingredients and that the crema would help tame the heat. I think this place is great. It definitely feels like a family run business but I do feel it has more of an Americanized feel to it. The place is especially inviting since they have a weekday Happy Hour everyday which has some great promos. The food: Margarita Salt Rim with Casamigos on the Rocks- I don't normally mention booze in my reviews but this margarita was excellent. It was perfectly balanced and incredibility delicious. This is a must order. Cheese Flautitas- These were an excellent app, they were fried perfectly but what really added so much flavor were the sauces. So good! Esquite- This was grilled corn off the cob, this was so much easier to eat since it was already picked but my god was this delicious. Cemita Burger- This was a super unique take on a burger and it really worked. It had a nice thick patty and all the fixins on the burger really made sense. I won't say this would beat a classic pub burger but definitely points for creativity. I definitely want to visit on Taco Tues because everyone raves about their fish tacos. read more

A teacher friend invited me out for dinner with her family and so we made it happen! We walked in the torrential rain and was able to get a seat immediately. We had amazing customer service and our waiter took great care of us! They have cocktails, beer, wine, and lots of alcoholic options. I see many delicious food for vegetarians and those who need gluten free. Our guacamole for the nachos was memorable and flavorful! I also ordered a cocktail called bombom asesino and it was wonderfully sweet. My friends and I ordered salads, burritos, chicken fingers, and all the items were big portions! We really enjoyed everything but do not sleep on the chorizo mac and cheese CHORIZO MAC N CHEESE*** Creamy, milky and kind of sweet with savory, salty pieces of chorizo decorating this al dente, thick macaroni dish. Love love love it. STEAK QUESADILLA ** Tender steak, and they did not skimp! Broiled cheese! FISH TACOS ** Also really good - tender pieces of fried fish with lots of dressings to really give it a diverse flavor profile with crunch and soft tortilla and brightness from the lime. One of the better fish tacos I've had ARUGULA SALAD I'm a big texture guy and I love a salad with a good bit of crunch from different veggies, fruits, nuts etc. This arugula salad has got it all and was one of my more preferred salads recently. We had the Chicken Mole Enchiladas too, but I think I've just learned that I'm not the hugest fan of mole in general :( as this was not my first time with mole from different spots and it was always just okay for me. read more

Many Mexican establishments in NY will have burgers and enchiladas on their menus, but few can do both as well as Laly's. As a true dedicated establishment to both Mexican and American fare, they've been a hit in the neighborhood from the start. At this point, I think of myself as a huge fan and consider this to be one of my go-to spots in Jackson Heights for comfort food. They've done a really good job with maximizing the space with a series of booths and tables with lots of natural lighting all throughout. They were among the first establishments during the pandemic to have a pretty extensive outdoor setup. To top it off, they have a little bar in the corner for folks looking to get their drink on. Without question, the food is where they shine. Whether it's for their awesome brunch or a casual dinner, they have a good variety of things just right for any palate. One of my favorite things on their menu has been their cemita burger, nice sized patty covered in queso oaxaca, avocado, and a zesty sauce on a sesame seed bun. It's the perfect little fusion of both cuisines. It doesn't just end there. Their sopa tortillas, chilaquiles, huevo rancheros, and quesadillas have always been delicious. I even think their steak fajitas, fish tacos, and chorizo mac and cheese are close to must-orders for any patron. I've really enjoyed their birria benedict (!), and their super fluffy blueberry pancakes. I'd also never say no to their french toast, steak and eggs, or their avocado toast. The food is probably a little more on the spendy side for the neighborhood, but the quality more than makes up for it. Service has always been kind and friendly and I appreciate that the menu changes along with the seasons. Having tried most of their menu over the years, I think I can say with confidence that just about everything is worth a shot. We loved this place for their taco specials and most recently for their Wednesday wings special. I got 3 of each of these flavors: Habanero Mango, Mole BBQ, Sweet Chili Glazed, and Tamarind BBQ. Their burgers are not to be missed - this time we got the Mexican Burger Iw/Chorizo). This was our local "hangout" before COVID because there aren't a ton of bars in the area, so we'd come for happy hour and some snacks. The drinks are good, priced right and the staff is very friendly. It has been almost 2 years since we've gone back, but they're still going strong!! The food is great and a good mix of Mexican favorites and some American favorites. Normally I don't like places where their menu is all over the place like that (except a diner). Their Mexican meals are really good and they make a good mole. They have homemade hot sauces that have great flavor and now they sell them to go! Why they didn't get 5-stars: Their outdoor seating is what I call a COVID Hut", in which there is no air circulation and all of the windows are permanently closed. This was just created to extend their seating and fill up more, but it defeats the point of having an outdoor section that you're trapped with no air circulation. read more

Worst experience I've had at a restaurant in many years. They took over 10 minutes just to take our orders and get us water. Then it was another 20 minutes when I asked the waitress when our order (eggs and French toast) and she said it would take an extra 10 minutes. Mind you, the place was only half full. I checked the price beforehand on their online menu which said $16 for an enchilada and $9 for tortilla soup. I've also been here in person before and bought a $16 enchilada. $16+ $16+$9 is $41. So where did $67 come from?! I asked her 3 times to make sure I heard correctly. She said that 2 enchiladas would be $48 and $9 for the soup. That still does not total to $67. From the moment we got our order into the car, we were walloped by the deep fried fish aroma tempting us to eat it immediately, but we were able to hold out. Fish Tacos- You get 3 tacos and 2 limes at 1 of the best restaurants in the neighborhood. Despite being fried, the fish is soft and the crunch is from the cabbage. The mango salsa and the chipotle mayo bring it all together. They won't leave you feeling lethargic afterwards like other tacos out there. Grilled Vegetable Quesadilla- For the most part, this just tastes like cheese and roasted corn. We ordered this just so we could say our meal was healthyish. We have tried the other foods as well, but the fish tacos is what continues to bring us back. read more

Great service as we were the only patrons at 7pm for the outdoor dining. Their set up is nicely enclosed with several heaters on the wall. Unfortunately still really cold!! Be wary that the location of the venue is right beneath the subway so it is extremely loud and distracting every few minutes!! Would suggest to stick with take out. The chimichanga was really scrumptious. Crunchy and filled with plenty of rice and chicken. My cemita burger was just okay to me. Laly's isn't the most eye-catching place on the outside, and it may be easy to miss, but it is easily becoming one of my favorites in the area. The space is pretty clean and attended to, the decor and furnishings are a little dated but that's okay because they make up for it in everything else! The food was delicious, flavors were good, and portions were great! They have a few menus depending on when you go (brunch menu on weekends, regular menu during the week) and everything is very reasonably priced. I also thought the service was great! It would have benefited from some of the green and red sauces Mexican restaurants are famous for, however none came with the order other than the orange sauce that came on top of the tacos which didn't do much to boost the flavor. The burger was interesting. It was very tasty. The flavor profile was much stronger of chorizo than beef. The fries seemed homemade and were ok. The Veggie Quesadillas was also tasty EXCEPT the guacamole wasn't fresh and the sour cream was RANCID!
