I've got to say that they're pretty good! I've had the Al Pastor which is awesome in the form of burritos and tacos--both are good. The chicken is pretty decent too. The carne asada, I personally think it is okay--maybe a tad bid under seasoned. If I were to recommend something it would definitely be the Al Pastor, in any form. Recommendations: Burritos Tacos Empenadas Nachos Things not too crazy about: Chile Relleno (love a good chile relleno but that one they really need to work on) That's pretty much all I've tried so far. I have been to a lot of places were the service and/or food is bad but I suck it up and just dont come back or hope to get a different employee the next time. This place is the reason I made an account at yelp. Food is salty and employees rude AF. Food: We ordered tacos de chorizo, nachos and guacamole, menudo, sopes, tortas, jamaica and horchata. This is the most oily and salty chorizo paste I have ever seen and tasted, there is no meat in it; not to mention the tiny tortilla used for the taco. Guacamole looks pale and no flavor. Menudo was watered down. Sopes and jamaica were probably the only okay things we ordered but still average. Tortas were also salty and had little meat on them. Horchata tasted like medicine. Service: I went in with my family may 5 around 11am and asked if there were any specials for El Cinco de Mayo. I am half Mexican so I know it is NOT Mexico's independence day. They were totally unaware of what day it was today, which is weird for a taco place since people usually think of tacos today and for them it should mean business. We ordered and asked to use the bathroom JUST to wash our hands. They wouldnt allow us, but I understood so we just used hand sanitizer. Anyways, they messed up on my order I let it go and paid $2 in cash for them to fix it. Then, I couldnt find the receipt and asked for a copy. The cashier wouldnt give it to me but instead of being polite, she gave me attitude so i just went to my table. Then, guy came up to me to my table and started arguing in an agressive way saying that they wouldnt reprint it and what not. If I was already sitting and why come arguing and disturb the peace? I guess 2 cents of paper is too much of an income loss. I told him why were they being so rude and took the oportunity to tell him that the THING they sold as chorizo was not chorizo at all. He got extemely defensive told me he was mexican and they sold it a lot. Let me assure you that I know chorizo as I am half mexican and I lived in mexico for 13 years. Chorizo is supposed to be chopped pieces of meant not a gooey paste. But if his statement is true, i honestly feel soooo sorry for those who make his statement true. The guy at the counter does not want to be there. Doesnt even acknowledge you, takes notes on a yellow pad then rips a piece off and hands it to the cook. He types the amount in his phone and gives you a total, no itemized receipt. Which is all fine and dandy for a hole in the wall, but the food is crap, and it takes forever to get your food. They must have new owners. The people and place looks different. Used to go there for their wet burrito, but it has changed. For the worse! I went in about a month ago. My family and I ordered 4 tacos, a torta, and a burrito to go. As we waited to be helped, not once did she acknowledge us or say, "she will be right with us." But that's fine, not everyone has manners. We get home and we didn't receive our burrito, but we had been charged for it. I called and told them what had happened and the girl cashier answered. She seemed annoyed! When I should be the one annoyed because now I have to go back to get a burrito they forgot to give me. She said that they had already thrown it away because they didn't know who it went to. What the? What kind of service is that? I go in to get my burrito and she has zero customer service again. She says, "yes" and I said, "I'm here to get the burrito you forgot to give me and also threw away." I was nice and calm until that statement. Once I received my burrito she never apologized for the inconvenience or anything, not even the cooks or other workers. I was pretty mad, everyone makes mistakes and people do forget things, but the fact that their customer service (especially hers) sucks makes me think twice about going back. Today I returned on Taco Tuesday. When my friend and I went in it wasn't crowded. We ordered 4 tacos each to go. As I'm waiting in line, she is starring me down while helping another customer. She made me feel very uncomfortable. I ordered and she lacked her customer service again. My food was finally ready and I checked my order and I was MISSING a taco again. She just took my order but couldn't remember my order and demanded a receipt. I give it to her and she takes my other three tacos. Her and a cook were talking and whispering to each other and staring at me. I was very polite and calm, I'm not going to let their service last time effect this time. She continued to stare at me while I waited for my whole order since they took the whole thing back. I asked her, "yes?" Because I thought she was trying to tell me something and she says rudely with her hands in the air, "nothing" and helps the next customer. My order is finally done and again... No one apologizes or anything. The tacos I ordered were two carnita tacos and two shrimp. The shrimp tacos usually come with three shrimp, I guess they got mad that they forgot my taco that the one they had to give me only had two shrimps. Okay The food is decent, I would give a 4 star for food, but their customer service is not even one star. It's sad to say, but that has a lot to do with a business considering I work for customer service. I get that not everyone has manners, but at least have decent customer service. And don't forget to give people part of their order! MAKE SURE YOU ALWAYS CHECK YOUR WHOLE ORDER IF YOU TAKE IT TO GO. Apparently they do an amazing job at forgetting parts of people's order since that happened to me twice in a row! Also beware of the rude cashier girl. After a couple of minutes and all 3 cooks just looking at me i said give me a refund and she said are you serious, i replied YES!!!! with rolling her eyes she gave me a refund for my tostada.. you would think the ceviche is already done because it has to be cold but they kept me waiting.. I've been coming here for years. The food is great. Prices are great. So why only two stars? One single bad service experience was all it took for me to not come back. 1. I walked in on a Tuesday for a breakfast burrito, which i usually order. However, I must have never been here on a Tuesday before, because the person taking my order told me that the breakfast burritos aren't sold after 11 am. So I order chilaquiles instead. Worker tells me chilaquiles are a breakfast item and that nothing on the left side of their menu could be ordered after 11 on a Tuesday. With a restricive and definitive policy like that, one would think that management would post a sign indicating that 25% of their menu is off limits on a Tuesday. It Felt like I was at a big corporate restaurant ordering breakfast after 11, where the employee has no control over the order . This is NOT a major corporate restaurant. He didn't even offer a simple "sorry." His tone sounded like I should have known better. 2. The employee kept taking every phone call that came in and never asked me to "wait while I answer the call and put them on hold." 3. After two strikes while ordering, I stepped aside to look at the menu for something that wasn't a breakfast item, the line got way too long and he didn't seem like he was going to let me back in line to complete my order, so I just left. I must have rubbed this guy the wrong way, because I felt pretty stupid during the whole ordeal and won't be coming back. This may have been a one-off, but either way, it doesn't seem like they'll miss my business. But if the readers of this review don't encounter this type of treatment, the food is really good. read more
