I ordered the shrimp burrito lunch special to-go. My order took less than 10 minutes. I was told the special comes with rice and beans, but I did not get any. I'm not sure if that is because I ordered to-go or not, so be sure to double check if you choose to order from here. My meal did come with chips and salsa at least. Chips and salsa: 2.5/5. The chips weren't too oily and had a good crunch. The salsa has a little heat but was otherwise rather mild and plain tasting. Shrimp burrito: 2.5/5. Inside the burrito was some sort of creamy sauce, rice, salsa, shrimp, and cheese. The shrimp was rather bland, but the rice was decent, soft, and seasoned. Everything else was middling. Tiny portions and expensive for what you get. Came here for quick grub one day and ordered a few items to share. The prices here are significantly higher than other Mexican restaurants in the area and the portions are much smaller. The quality of the food is also mediocre at best. Stopped by for cinco de mayo. They had a 1.99 street taco special and it was just delightful. If you must choose one meat to get, it would be the pollo 100%. I had the Chilaquiles, which were very good and I ordered them with carne asada which was an additional eight dollars bringing the entire meal to $22 and change. I thought the eight dollar extra charge for Carne Asada, which was very thin and dry was a bit excessive but the Chilaquiles and eggs were good. The following day I went in for shrimp and fish taco the shrimp was chopped up shrimp that was also probably used for their other cold shrimp dishes. The fish was good, but not great. After reading some of the reviews, I expected more. If you really would like a good shrimp or fish taco go to urban fish Grill in Chino Hills, that is the gold standard. On a sidenote, I specifically told the waitress that I cannot eat raw onions and not to put pico de gallo on my tacos, but guess what that's exactly what I received. This is still the best Mexican spot in Diamond Bar. My family has friend nearly everything on the menu and we know what our favorites are. Huge fan of their ceviche pescado and their al pastor tacos. Plus, we always order the Jamaica. The service is always amazing and while you will wait a bit for your food, keep in mind, it's all prepared fresh and totally worth the wait. First time coming here. What a great time we had. The salsa has a kick to it it was very tasty. My friend and I split the fajitas mixtas (shrimp, chicken, steak) with the flour tortillas. There is a small quesadilla on top of it when it comes to you sizzling. It counts with rice, beans and a salad. We each had an a la carte taco as well. (Carnitas and shrimp). First time here! Went in there today around 6pm and there was only one family there. Cashier was polite and let me know I could ask her for help as well as told me when my togo order would be ready. Around $8 (?) for the fish ceviche and had to wait less than 10 mins. It was pretty good! I've been craving fish ceviche ALL week so I was not disappointed. The only downside is that there was about a tea spoon of hot sauce in the portion cup they gave me. They provided a lot of salsa but didn't really need that for my ceviche (I did not add the hot sauce in the photos). Not a big deal because I still enjoyed my meal. I have mixed reviews for this place. We came on May 14th for Mother's Day and there was only one waitress and one cook so the food took a while to come out. It is also small inside and only fits a couple tables/guests. The menu prices on Yelp were very outdated and what we got was about $20 more than what the Yelp menu from only a couple months ago said, which I thought was a big difference. I thought the parrillada would come out hot at least since it took a long time, but we got it and it seemed to have been sitting for a bit. The ceviche tower was my favorite thing out of everything but when it was brought out, we weren't given any salsas tostadas, chips, condiments etc. and the waitress never came back to the table to offer or ask. TLDR: Gobernador Taco: 5/5 Other Tacos: 4/5 In the past year, I've gained nearly 18 pounds. At least 12 of those pounds can be attributed to Taco Tuesday's at El Pirata. Their Taco Tuesday special is a discount of one dollar off all their tacos. I would say that their regular street style tacos are solid and all that you would expect from any taco. However, their Gobernador tacos are where they truly shine. The Gobernador Taco is a tortilla filled with melted cheese and shrimp, and probably one of the best tacos I've had in a long time. The gooey cheese works so well with the flavor of seafood, and the tortilla provides a nice texture that melds it all together. Our go to Seafood Restaurant. It's definitely a chill hidden gem, but so worth it! The prices aren't bad and the food has always been good! Wish we came here earlier! Came for lunch before grading home arrived jist as they opened. Huevos Rancheros - very tasty! The tortilla at the bottom was actually crispy. Eggs were slightly overcooked (not runny) but didn't mind. Chili Relleno was delicious! Use to it being a little more fried and crisp but the flavor was spot on. Being early we only ordered one House Margarita -the Killer Magarita. Had great flavor and right amount of tequila and amaretto. Would definitely come again if in the area. read more

(Will be back) Not really complaining about the prices considering this is a Mariscos restaurant. The prices are actually comparable to similar themed restaurants nowadays.
