It's a little fluffier than what I'm used to and that's a good thing. The tortillas are made to order! There is a counter with about 5-6 stools where you watch them being made will you enjoy. I opted for a Colorado ($11.00) and frijoles con queso ($8.00) . The tortillas are delicious- pillowy, made with lard and fresh. Out of the two, the frijoles made with pinto beans was my favorite. The Colorado was good but the pork shoulder was a tad dry. I'll be back! I want to try the lengua and verde. read more

They are made with lard so the flavor is a little bit different from what you are used to, and I think that makes them heavier but overall soft and good. The tortillas are definitely the star of the show. They taste so fresh and have a perfect texture. They are on the thicker side so it was more filling than I expected for the small size of the burrito. We got one verde and one Colorado and I preferred the Colorado and my husband preferred the verde. The Colorado has a chipotle flavor but it's super oily and can get messy to eat. The verde was spicier than I expected but good flavor as well. Next time we'd try the bean and cheese burrito because the simplicity of that would probably make the tortilla shine even more. Also make sure to check the board for daily specials as we didn't realize until after we ordered that we missed out on the breakfast burrito! read more

The food itself is great...once you get it. I have sworn off this place though because the service is so slow. We've gone in person and waited forever for the food to be ready. We've also tried several times to place an order for 'pick up' thinking it would eliminate the half-hour wait but it has never worked. We always wait at least 20-30 minutes for food. Which makes no sense to me considering all the fillings are premade. So yeah, we argue about ordering from this place/getting food there bc of this. And we're local neighborhood folk. It would be so easy. I have refused to go recently, also because waiting inside gets very packed and waiting outside leads to dealing with sketchy crazy folk. Confession time. I have never been to Brooklyn! I visit my daughter frequently since her move, but have never made it over the bridge. That changed yesterday! My daughter said it best, " this is the only burrito I would stand in line for!" Those homemade tortillas were crazy delicious. We had the frijoles, Colorado and mole. I could have bathed in those beans, not grainy at all and just exploded with flavor with those fresh salsas! I foresee tremendous success. I can say that because my daughter told her elementary school teacher I was " psycho". When the teacher called about it, I told her I was fairly sure she meant psychic. Being an LA native, my outlook on Mexican food in New York is beyond bleak. This seems to be a hot take out here, which just sort of makes me laugh. I get hit with "there's this one spot in Jackson Heights that's AMAZING, you don't know what you're talking about you bum transplant..." One spot deep in Jackson heights!?! In LA you can get good Mexican food damn near everywhere... but I digress. A fellow LA to NY transplant informed me about Los Burritos Juarez that just opened in Brooklyn 2 days earlier, and she said the burritos held up with our nose-in-the-air LA Mexican food standards. I was shocked when I pulled up and this place was POPPIN. Standing room only. I felt the aura. I guess Chef Alan Delgado is the mastermind behind this place, who was previously the Director of R&D at the Michelin starred Oxomoco. He has the juice. I took a look at the menu as I waited in line, and saw a burrito was only $11. My goodness. A good burrito at a reasonable price in New York City!?! GOD STEPPED IN. However, when I got to the front of the line the gentleman taking my order informed me it would be about an hour wait. An hour!?!? Oof... but I came all the way out here so I ordered a Verde beef burrito ($11), chips and guac ($8), and a Mexican coke for the plot. When I ordered, the guy sheepishly said "If you're really hungry, you should order 2 burritos." I imagine he saw the desperate look of confusion on my face as he followed up with "they're pretty small..." Damn. I knew it was too good to be true. He wasn't lying either. I ended up adding a chicken mole burrito to my order, and sat there for 54 minutes watching them make these "burritos." They give you a tiny spoonful of beans as the base layer on a fresh handmade flour tortilla, and one scoop of meat before they wrap it up. It's really a mini burrito. I was disappointed, but at $11 what could I expect? 2 of them was still more food than the typical burrito and at $22, it's about right in line with market price for a NYC burrito. I also can eat like a small horse, so I will acknowledge that the general population may prefer these smaller portions. Portion sizes aside, this quality was FANTASTIC. Phenomenal. Sensational. The tortilla is a true Mexican flour tortilla with a thick, pillowy texture. You can see them handmaking each one right there in front of you. Guac was clearly made fresh in house too. I preferred the chicken mole to the grass fed beef verde, but both had me giving an audible "damn..." Just a blast of flavor on every bite, and the fresh salsa they provide takes it up a notch. A bit pricey for tortillas but the tortilla texture is amazing. You can tell the difference in ingredients with the quality and taste. Really delicious burritos, completely different than what you're used to. They hand roll and cook the tortillas in front of you, fill them with the delicious fillings, wrap 'em and hand 'em to you. Of course...there's so much demand right now that there's about a ~20 minute gap between when you order and when all that happens, but they're doing their best given the crazy amount of people showing up to this storefront that had been empty for years. Everyone working there seems super engaged and working their asses off to meet the demand. I went on the Sunday of labor day weekend and we were lucky as they ran out of food while we waited for ours, this happened at about ~6:20pm. Vibe in the joint is lively and modern, not necessarily uncomfortable seating, but not the most comfortable either - it has a "hey enjoy yourself, eat your burrito, and then give somebody else space to eat theirs" feeling. Perhaps the softest, fluffiest tortillas I've ever had. Los Burritos Juarez had a line (understandable), but the people here work that line like it's the marines. They were churning out burritos left and right and yet, there wasn't a single miss. I got the verde burrito and the queso quesadilla; both were delicious. The verde burrito had a nice kick to it and the brisket was flavored so well and was nice and tender. I'm not a fan of beans but they were superb here. And the quesadilla was just a perfect, gooey cheesy thing. This place is special. Get in line and get ready to grub. read more

Stumbled into here while passing by. I got the Colorado burrito and a concha. The handmade tortillas are soft and warm, nicely wrapping the slow-cooked pulled pork. The bun was soft with a sweet crust. Place is small and has limited seating. Service and turnover was quite fast. I'd love to come back when I'm in the area next time! read more

Friendly service and a cute little space. I came because I love a handmade flour tortilla, especially because mass produced ones are so terrible. The burrito disappointed me, though. Another reviewer described the tortilla as naan-like, and I agree. The tortilla is much thicker than any I've ever had before. It's certainly not as thick as naan, but it's like naan's svelte cousin. The texture and flavor is also reminiscent of naan. I wouldn't characterize it as bad, but it doesn't seem appropriate for a traditional burrito. I got the mole chicken filling and found the chicken to be pretty good but the mole didn't have much flavor so I used a lot of salsa. The food is perfectly fine if you don't have expectations, I guess. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, though. read more

Living in Los Angeles and Chicago (now) for so many years, I've been unbelievably spoiled with some of the best Mexican food outside of D.F. (Look that up)! Los Angeles has East L.A. and Chicago has Pilsen, both a "Hot Bed" of this cuisine. Here in Brooklyn, there's a new sheriff in town - Los Burritos Juarez making ridiculously good burritos. The beauty behind this Old Pop-Up / New Restaurant is their very brief menu! Having just a few items on their menu, makes sure that each listed will item be prepared exactly like the chef wants it; as opposed to a restaurant that had 75 things on their menu and nothing id done right. Our lunch consisted of: One Colorado Burrito with guajillo braised pork - delicious One Verde Burrito with beef and potatoes braised in salsa verde - delicious One Frijoles con Queso Burrito with pinto beans and chihuahua cheese - delicious One Mole Burrito with chicken braised in a pasilla and almond mole - delicious Us two split these four and we enjoyed the hell out of them. BIG fan of this place with its fresh made to order flour tortillas and fire salsas. Came late on Sunday and they had sold out of several items. Still had the staple bean and cheese burrito, queso quesadilla, and braised beef potato burritos though so got all three. Wife loved the bean and cheese and the red salsa. My 2 year old crushed the quesadilla and I thoroughly enjoyed the beef burrito with the green salsa. Was nice to sit outside and eat with everyone and pet the dogs while people watching. Great vibe in nice weather. Will try and be back as many times as possible before winter as I'm afraid the right space inside will make inaccessible for families unfortunately. read more

The hype around this place really confuses me. Forget the long lines and crappy service. The burritos are just not good. The tortillas are nothing like a tortilla you would expect - they are kind of like drier pieces of naan bread. And the fillings are just boring. Not super flavorful. One dimensional. As someone who visited Juarez and El Paso yearly to visit family, the TORTILLAS ARE OMG!!!! But the fillings and cost of everything is just not it. Really wanted to like this place especially since the 'tissi man has been here. I tried pretty much every flavor and the quesadilla! I think the bean and cheese burrito is the best out of them all. The star of this spot is definitely the pillow-y tortilla, I can't deny that. However, I feel like has too much of an overpowering flour taste and you combine that with an under-seasoned filling and YOU NEED to put a lot of salsa to get this anywhere. I'm a SoCal native and I know this is a Juarez style burrito which is different than what we have in California, BUT it's hard to compare when we have great places like El Charrito in Salinas that are serving up a similar style of small wrap burrito with a freshly made flour tortilla. I always want to see these places succeed because they bring something new to the neighborhood, but I hope they can fine-tune their offerings to really knock it out the park. read more

Hectic and disorganized. The staff mixed up my order, I never got my food, and felt patronized when I complained. A real shame.

Sigh. I really wanted to love this place. Lovely owner and staff. The tortillas are excellent and worth trying but the fillings are so hit or miss that I think I've gone for the last time. Bean and cheese is great but the meat fillings are sometimes stringy, tough, under salted, over salted etc. My very mediocre egg/potato breakfast burrito just put me over the edge- weird texture, flavorless, and therefore highway robbery at $11. Should have made my own at home with a store bought tortilla. :( read more

alan delgado (the co-owner) gets drunk in the lobby sometimes and is a little inappropriate with some customers. i do not recommend it. the owner drunkenly shouting the lyrics to mexican drinking songs while his drunk buddies mime sh**ting rounds into the air with their fingers leaves something to be desired. food is definitely food. read more

We live around the corner and have been seeing the obvious flutter of activity for LBJ in the past few weeks with the lines down the block etc. We decided to give it a shot last night when we had another couple over. There were 4 adults eating so we got one of each of the burritos listed on the menu for that day: The Colorado pork, the verde w beef, the frijoles con queso and the chicken molé. The frijoles con queso was the least strong of the options. That, we all could agree on. A little too bare bones with not a lot of flavor going on. Otherwise, the rest of the options were absolutely delicious. Very flavorful and the tortillas are simply dynamite. I'm hesitant to give 5/5 stars because the burritos were SMALL. Like, kinda jokingly small. We all had to grab a slice afterwards across the street because we're all still significantly hungry after each adult had a single burrito. The staff were great, the food came out quickly and the vibe was welcoming. If the portions were a bit more reasonable I'd be aching to go back. Overall, Los Burritos Juarez is a great addition to the neighborhood. I'm glad to see them thrive in a location that seemed to be "cursed" for so many years. read more
