A nice find in Giddings. The place is clean and the staff is friendly and welcoming. We ordered the tamales and the enchiladas. Chips and sauces are plentiful. We enjoyed our meals... more emphasis on the enchiladas. They were delish. They do not have a liquor license yet; however, you can still get a margarita with a "donation". This place is awesome. Don't be fooled by the quiet store front. This place is a real hidden gem. Excellent food and super friendly service, with exceptionally nice people, clean restaurant and nice decor. Oh ya, and....loved the margaritas. I really like the big mugs the margaritas are served in. These people are beyond accommodating. What you want, is what they'll serve. We tried this place based on Yelp reviews and they didn't disappoint. Huge portions of tasty food. I got two enchiladas and he got carnitas, which were super tender and tasty. I was stuffed and took food home. You will not be disappointed driving from Austin, La Grange or Round Top to Giddings to eat dinner or lunch. Very good and we will be back. Well worth it. Came from California to visit my sister and I usually never eat Mexican food bc it's not the same out here, but this place is def one that I will be coming back to. Food was delicious, great flavor and good quality. I had the fajitas mexicanas is bomb. The owner was very friendly and nice and the server was great. Still a new place but hopefully with more people going it will be better. They are hoping for a liquor license soon also. read more

i would rate this closer to a 4.5 rather than a 5 stars simply because i didn't see a breakfast menu/section, im sure if i had asked for potato&egg tacos they would've made them! today, the owner is the one working as the server and he was so friendly and conversational! he's from michoacan, and the food was, in my opinion, Michoacan style which i love since it's the food i ate growing up. they had some tex-mex-ish options but not too many. i got the tacos al carbon which came with rice, beans, pico de gallo and guacamole. the taco meat was super tender and juicy. my cousins got the tacos de bistec, which was a plate with 5 tacos, topped with onion and cilantro, and sides of beans and rice as well as a spicier salsa which i thought was delicious! my other cousin got the garlic shrimp which he seemed to enjoy. the establishment was a tiny little place semi-loudly playing the music my dad would play on our roadtrips, which let me know that the food would be good. they have a slightly grime-y vibe that i like from small mexican restaurants. if i'm ever in the area again, and hungry i would stop here. read more

Wow! So happy to have found this restaurant! Best we've been to in Giddings and not far from where we live in La Grange. Way better than anything we have here locally in La Grange. I had the carnitas and they were cooked just right. Plates came out hot, beans and rice were nice and sizzling. They have a large menu with a lot of things to choose from. Margaritas were big and delicious too! Well worth it. Although the restaurant isn't too inviting from the outside, the atmosphere inside is really nice and comfortable. Check it out! The food was good but because they do not have a liquor license they just suggest tipping. After having our meals with 3 adults and 2 kids. My bill was supposed to be around 43 plus whatever tax is in Texas. They overcharged me because they said to each other that we weren't going to tip. Being my first time coming I tipped 20 dollars on a 58 dollar bill. I figured that was a decent tip but as I am walking away I hear our waitress say that they shouldn't have served us if we weren't going tip well. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant! I'm from Mexico and this is the most authentic and delicious restaurant I've been to in Texas. Tastes like home! Our go to place in the area. The Shrimp Soup is amazing and has lots of shrimp. The Fish and Shrimp is the same, but has a mix of shrimp and fish. Guacamole salad is fresh and tasty. If you can talk them into it, get a side order of Mole with some corn tortillas - it's very good and deserves to be a star of the menu beyond the Mole Enchiladas. The Camarones A La Parrilla - very very good especially with their house made chipotle sauce. My son really likes the Pollo Chipotle. Very friendly owner and staff. I'm not one to typically ever write a review, but for 2 of us, it cost $42. They're "queso" is nothing more then melted velveeta cheese. They're cheese sticks were not impressive at all. The price is INSANE, for cheap food. Their chimichangas are decent. I will give them that. But most definitely would not recommend this place. Especially if you're on a tight budget. read more
