Small, counter service restaurant located in a Rite Aid/Lucky shopping center. They do have a few tables available for eating there - two, four person tables and two, two people tables. It seems that the constant flow of patrons were mostly picking up take out orders. They give you free chips and salsa if you eat there. They are tasty and we barely got started on them before our lunches were ready. The 1/2 meals are a perfect lunch portion and inexpensive to boot. Our total came to just over $10. I ordered the cheese enchilada. The 1/2 meal is one enchilada and the rice and beans that come with every meal. I do have to admit that the food there is good. I wish they had good red enchiladas. The service is okay at times, could be better. Sometimes they get inundated with customers and the orders can get mixed up real quick. Several times our orders have been wrong or something is forgotten. One bad experience I had was I ordered green enchiladas and what I received was disgusting. 2 corn tortillas warmed up with some green salsa and cheese slapped on. The tortillas were not soft at all. I threw my food away. That was a waste of money. Now, if they could only get the orders straight. Another one is chicken tacos, put some meat in the tacos. I have been going here for years and always would give them a 10. But my last 3 visits have been unpleasant. We order by phone to pick up. First issue called at 7:20 pm and was asked to hold. Five minutes later they came back on line and said we are too busy to take your order. It's now 7:25 and they're open until 8. Second issue a few weeks later we ordered our dinners, got home and found out they forgot a couple of tacos. Third, called in an order last night. This past Saturday some very special people in my life were having an engagement party. We had everything going perfectly and smooth until the caterer no showed. We turned to Los Charros at 3:30pm to see if they could accommodate 60 very hangry people. I believe we ordered 48 chicken taco's, 48 beef taco's, 2 dozen bean and cheese burritos, 2 dozen quesadilla's, 2 trays of beans and 2 trays of rice. Even when I told them it was on their menu and that I've ordered them multiple times from them, they told me no. I placed my order by phone, and went in to pick up. When I got there, I waited in a very long line out the door. That is fine, I understand they were busy. What bothered me was the gentleman behind me got pulled to the front of the line and handed his order. When he went to pay, the lady waved him goodbye and told him he didn't have to. My order was also ready, but I still had to wait in the long line. I apparently was not the right race to get specialty treatment. The employees should treat their customers equally and not show favoritism to Hispanic customers. It's extremely small, with just about 3 small tables for seating. I rarely crave mexican food but was in the mood for a quesadilla, so I ordered one with chicken, and guacamole on the side. When I first received the quesadilla I saw that it had beans in it and hardly any cheese (I did not know it came with beans) so I asked to have it remade and the girl almost gave me an attitude, as if it would be a problem to make another one EXCUSE ME??? Manager of money back! Anyhow, they remade it and it actually turned out pretty good. For just a basic chicken quesadilla, it was pretty damn tasty- Decent in size and extremely flavorful. The chicken had a nice flavor to it, the cheese was especially good, the tortilla was cooked to a soft, yet settle crispy goodness and the guacamole was fresh and flavorful.
