Definitely different than your typical Mexican joint when it comes to execution and flavor. I ordered the beef enchiladas with the red sauce and thought they were interesting. The beef was a bit greasy but nothing unbearable. The beans and rice had good flavor and were unlike any that I had tried before -- in a good way! There are a handful of Mexican beers on tap to choose from. They do not supply chips and salsa but you can purchase them as an appetizer. I stopped by Los Chiludos for lunch on a weekday. The restaurant gets a steady lunch crowd. You walk in, order at the counter, and they give you a number to deliver the food. It seems halfway between a Moe's and an authentic Mexican restaurant. For Pittsburgh that's a big plus. Everything looked very good. I ordered the ranchos huevos. The multiple layers of tostadas with toppings made it a nice dish. I will return when in the area. read more

The food was delicious. I had a chicken taco salad and my husband had the carnitas. We also had the chips and chipotle salsa, which wwre both so good! I'm normally not a huge chipotle fan, but this was hands down the best I had ever had. The portions were laege and we happiky took home leftovers. They were even better the next day. read more

I've searched high and low for good tacos in Pittsburgh and my favorite one so far is all the way out in Canonsburg. They do taco Tuesdays where you can get 3 tacos for a very good lunch price. My go-to tacos at Los Chiludos are fish, carnitas, and chorizo. Their standard taco comes with a heaping serving of onions and cilantro, double wrapped with tortillas. Their green sauce is delicious and I typically add enough jalapenos on top to turn up the spice. The reasons why Los Chiludos crush all the taco places in Pittsburgh are simple: GOOD price and they simply make good tacos! No hipster weird tacos here. The only wish list I have for Chiludos is please get lengua or tripa. I am still on the search for those tacos in the area. read more

The unassuming storefront leads to friendly staff and delicious food. Our large group was welcomed and the friendly owner(?) even rearranged the tables to accommodate. We tried a little of Everett thing. The shrimp tacos were amazing. Grilled shrimp, perfectly seasoned with some slaw and a spicy mayo sauce. Fantastic. The birria tacos were the highlight. We were raving about those for the entire week while we visited the area. Crazy good. The burritos were huge and all had the high level of quality that we found in the other entrees. Found a new favorite spot on the island! We checked in our condo and after a long drive were looking for something fast and filling and Los Chiludos was the perfect choice. We arrived about 30 minutes before closing on a Saturday night and the staff/owners were so very friendly and couldn't be more welcoming. Good atmosphere inside, but since it was a nice night out so we chose to eat outside. We are a party of seven and ordered a mix of tacos, quesadillas, and burritos. The food came out quick and all together, everything was hot and fresh and delicious. More than enough to fill us up. The guacamole and the pico salsa and chips are a must as well. Menu items were reasonably priced. We will for sure add this to our rotation while visiting the area as several other items on the menu we are looking forward to trying out. We went to their original location in an old house in a small town in western Pennsylvania, and have followed their growth, recently eating at their new location on Anna Maria Island in Florida. The food is still great, and the service is too! Their homemade chips and mango salsa were always a highlight, and they still are in their new location in a small shopping center. The reviews are very misleading. They are for their old location, maybe the food was good there. The queso tastes like it came from a bag like gas station nachos. The steak was so tough and not cut up I thought I was going to choke on it. I would happily eat tacos and queso for every meal. I have never not finished queso. I'd love to know what food is good on their menu because I've never been disappointed with Mexican food like this. read more

Hands-down the best Mexican food in the Canonsburg area! The food is always fresh with great flavor. I've had the tortilla bowl and it was very filling for a lunch option. I've heard about Los Chiludos for years. Everyone who ever went there talked about how amazing the food was, so we finally went. The hype is real people. We went pre-COVID, and had to wait for a table. Again, so worth it. We order the chips and salsa, which wasn't too spicy and very fresh. I had the carnitas platter, which honestly was some of the best carnitas I've ever had, and I've had it in little villages in Mexico and just about every restaurant I find it at across the country. Not too greasy and super flavorful. The guac was also super tasty and fresh. Even the rice and beans, which always seems like an after thought at these kinds of places, was super good. My wife and four year old daughter went for a mix of tacos, with shrimp, beef and chicken. Again, all amazing. Nothing too spicy, and the shrimp was grilled perfectly. My six year old batted her eyes at the waiter and convinced him to make her a bean enchilada, which was a nice balance of refried and fresh beans and gooey cojito cheese. In all, a most excellent restaurant with a laid back feel and great beer menu. read more

Pros: Very fresh food, home made chips. We had shrimp tacos and the shrimp were decent sized, no metallic aftertaste. Salsa verde was very good, not over-salted. Enchilada platter was also very good. Burritos are enough for two people, and very fresh - no frozen veggies in the vegetarian, for instance. Decent small selection of drinks and beers. Lovely people, family owned, a nice change from the mediocre "Mexican" restaurants we have in the area. Cons: In our lives we'd never heard of charging for chips when you ordered queso. In fact, charging for chips period, especially when it's $6.00 for just a small portion. Your $3 buys you a sizeable bag of chips, but I'd trade that for a smaller portion (say, 1/3 the size) that came with the food and queso. Tiny little plastic things of salsa are way too small for a meal. No N/A beer, which so many other places on Anna Maria are stocking (especially Mango Cart, delicious!). And, no ice machine. That's going to hurt in the summer. Suggestions: Why are they allowing the ice cream shop next door to have a big sandwich board in front of their restaurant, and why don't they have their own? This is a pretty walkable spot, so the board with specials on it would work well, we thought. And, as I keep beating on this dead horse, a locals discount for people who live full time on AMI would be good - license check the address and knock down 10%, because locals are here when everyone else has left! Conclusion: Worth the trip, good for kids, huge portions and good value. They haven't been open that long, so we'll go back for a third time. And really, really nice to see a family-owned restaurant open in that location. read more

This is not only the best Mexican place around Pittsburgh, it's one of the best Mexican places that I've ever been! The owner, hailing from Mexico City, has brought his homemade fare to Pennsylvania. The chips and homemade salsa are absolutely delicious. I've gotten the tortilla soup both times I've come here and it is great! Filled with shredded chicken, diced onions, cilantro and a perfectly spiced broth. The steak tacos, which you can get Mexicano (salsa, onions and cilantro) or Americano (tomatoes, lettuce, cheese and sour cream) are a force to be reckoned with! If you'd like it slightly different opt for the fish or shrimp tacos. The steak nachos are a meal unto themselves! Nacho chips piled high with marinated steak, cheese, tomatoes, and sour cream. The happy hour at Los Chiludos is awesome! You can have more than enough food by just ordering off of this menu and the drink specials are also phenomenal. One of the best authentic Mexican food, not just in Pittsburgh but comparable to Texas, Florida and NY. They're incredible. Burrito (carnitas, red salsa) is huge - can easily get 2-3 meals out of it. Chips & guac made fresh to order. 3 mixed tacos are authentic and delicious!!!! I had the carnitas, shrimp and cod. Highly recommend. Did a pick up order 3 times in the past 2 weeks. The chips, chili con queso and guacamole were a great way to start the meal. The chips are home-made! My husband had the shrimp special, which he said was absolutely the best. I had chicken taquitos which were perfectly seasoned and crunchy! Our friends had the Chicano and a steak burrito which they both enjoyed. The staff was both friendly and helpful. I have tasted many Mexican restaurants in the Pittsburgh area, and this is BY FAR my favorite. Hands down, the best burritos, chimichangas (they even have shredded chicken) rice, and refried beans available. I would be severely remiss if I didn't mention their incredible guacamole.
