When we arrived, we were seated pretty quickly despite it being a little busy. Our server was Mel and she was great. To start, she made me a watermelon margarita which was nice and my bf ordered a mango mojito. Then, for our appetizer, we ordered traditional raw oysters. For our entree, I ordered the PEI mussels and my bf ordered garlic parm oysters and rock oysters. Both meals were amazing. Mel was very attentive and I would like to have her as my server whenever I visit again. We wanted to order dessert but we were stuffed with everything we had. However, we will be back. Then for main course we ordered the mussels, crab Mac and cheese and skirt steak and the shrimp and grits. The food came out nice and hot and super yummy. The grits were creamy and shrimp were nicely seasoned. The steak was cooked to perfection. I wish there was more crab on the and cheese. It felt like a very small and slightly burned portion. Came for Father's Day. Fun restaurant with a fantastic view and a cute fishing pier out the back. Maria was our server and she was fantastic, handled multiple tables so well and made time to check-in on us a few times. This place is booked and busy but they turn over tables pretty quickly. We killed the 30minute wait time by hanging out on the swinging bench on the pier and taking photos of all the birds. The fans outside were amazing, didn't feel like it was 95 outside at all. Flies here and there but that's florida. Father's Day special was bogo drinks, we ordered two mocktails that were fantastic. Definitely on the sweet side, almost like sipping dessert. Tropical, icey, bubbly dessert. Calamari was DELICIOUS. My parents never really order calamari but they loved how crunchy the breading was while the meat still being tender. Some food items were very salty: lobster bisque and scallops with the captain's combo. Scallops were cooked very well, just salty. Gulf Grouper was a small amount of fish on a very large plate, it was so delicious though. Fish and chips was good but I have had better, the fish was on the thinner side and wasn't thick enough to flake apart. Loved the Anna Maria Oyster bar hot sauces. Dad's favorite was the habanero and mine was the serrano. They sell individual bottles of these as well. For a party of 3 with 1 app, 3 entrees (some up charges for sides), bogo mocktails, and 20% tip...we spent around $160 for the meal. For appetizers, enjoyed two dozen oysters--both the traditional and chimichurri styles. The oysters were incredibly fresh, plump, and among the tastiest we've had. The chimichurri preparation really enhanced the flavor of the oyster. The other appetizer, calamari was crispy, tender, and cooked just right. The fish tacos were perfectly seasoned and delicious, while the clam chowder was loaded with clams and pleasantly not overly salty. To top it all off, the Maria Sauvignon Blanc was light, crisp, and refreshing. I can appreciate why their Key Lime Tart waa voted best!! The Key Lime Tart was outstanding!! Location and vibes - check! Food and service - good, but not great. I'll be honest, we were a big group and probably a little difficult to manage. Our server was pleasant and had a good demeanor. There were some slips and some items ordered that never arrived or, in one case, given to another table. They made up for the lapses quickly and pleasantly. Food was good. I had the fish dip and the blackened grouper sandwich. Both tasty. I found the grouper sandwich (MP) a bit pricey at $38. The place itself is really nice and located right on the pier. The Oyster Bar on the Pier is a solid spot to get some quick food while you're visiting downtown Anna Maria. Beware, parking can be tricky, but once you find somewhere, you can wander around a bit. The space is pretty big and they have an awesome outdoor patio that was great on a cool summer night. The food is pretty standard beach town fare and a smidge expensive, but not much different than the other restaurants nearby. The grouper was pretty good, but I would skip the potatoes as a side - they weren't worth it; no seasoning or anything of interest. While it might not be my favorite spot in town, it was good for an easy dinner. read more

Our wait staff was a bit preoccupied with other things, she didnt ask if we would like to order a starter, took a while just getting us our waters and taking our order we had to repeat several things. When it was time for the check she took a literal 10 minutes to get it to us and another 10 minutes to bring my change. They serve both orders on a metal trays covered with paper. Shrimp were plentiful, about 14 mouthful size shrimp. My partner said I take to large a bites though. But plenty of food for me. She had the grouper bites. They serve 8 oz rather than by number so no matter what you have with grouper you're going to get the same 8 oz. Our server was terrific, very helpful, energetic, knowledgeable. When we asked a question she didn't know the answer to she said so, then explained she'd ask someone who might. The reviews on this place were great so we gave it a try. I used the add to waitlist feature before we drove to the restaurant, yelp also said that at this time it would be about 5-10 min wait. We arrived and I gave the hostess my name and said we were added to the waitlist on yelp, the hostess said Oh we don't use that. I showed her that we even received a text confirming, she said sorry she doesn't know why that is on there. I then was told my wait would be 50 mins. We decided to wait even though there was a table for 5 that never got filled until after 50 mins when they sat us there. Our waiter was nice, though it was apparent he was very busy as he had tables inside and outside. All of the food, with the exception of the kaboom shrimp (which was the star of the show), came out lukewarm which was really disappointing. I sent the fries back because they weren't fresh, and just settled with the rest of the lukewarm food. The fish was battered to perfection, but the actual meat was dry and overcooked. Great spot for sunset. Went july 4th for dinner. Parking is nonexistent. There are a few free spots on the pier, but plan on paying (15$ per hour) and walking. We sat outside of. The deck. We had a group of 6 coming from the beach so I joined the waitlist to help with the wait. 73 year old in the party that has difficulty walking so we tried compensating for that with the waitlist. Attached picture shows we were first in line. Hostess tells us that they don't accept online waitlists. After that they double down and ask if I used my number at which point I show the confirmation on my phone. 45 minutes later we are seated. We spent the day at the beach and took a mid day break at the oyster bar. It was walking distance and they offer inside and outside seating. They have happy hour every day from 3-6pm. The raw oysters at $1.99 during happy hour so we got the traditional and chimichurri raw oysters. We also got a dozen of the roasted oysters in tequila lime, Grandma Georgie's, garlic Parmesan and oysters rock. Honestly the only one we wouldn't order again is the oysters rock. The burgers were a big hit for our preggo friends. Nice thick juicy patty cooked perfectly. My daughter also loved the Mac n cheese.
