Let me start by saying, if 0 was an option for the stars, my rating would be negative 5. This place is absolutely AWFUL. Not only does the service SUCK but I contracted MULTPILE viruses from this restaurant. I contracted ECOLI in 4 forms from this AWFUL restaurant. I have been in the hospital for 2 WEEKS, all due to this completely awful restaurant. I tried to request a refund on the same day as my experience and my request was denied because they said and I quote "you pay we make it, you want money back we lose too much. No refund" This alone left a bad taste in my mouth. IN addition, my waitress was drinking ALCOHOL as she was serving me. My friend has an allergy, and she said they could accommodate this HOWEVER 10 minutes after leaving my friend had an allergic reaction almost killing her and she also ended up in the hospital. Not only does this place suck but everyone who works there also sucks. Never in my life have I ever received such bad service. I sincerely hope this restaurant goes out of business completely. The mofongo was the worst mofongo I have ever had. I think this has to go down as one of the worst restaurant I ever visited. The server/waitress was literally drinking ALCOHOL and too busy talking with the customers at the bar area. Seriously , it was so unprofessional. She was very loud, and kept forgetting to bring the utensils, straws, some ingredients like the tostones so we kept getting our stuff in pieces. It was just my mother and I and we couldn't hear each other. My mother got a simple grilled chicken with salad which she stated tasted like rubber and I got cheese mofongo it was extremely dry with literally tiny pieces of cheese and the sauce they gave was weird. You can clearly see the separation of the oil. The music was obnoxiously loud with obvious poor audio quality. The food was just terrible I'm sorry. I would never go back nor recommend this restaurant. read more

First thing I have to say is, the food is good BUT...the service is by far the WORST! We sat down and it probably took the waitresses 10 minutes to even acknowledge us and when they did, we DIDNT EVEN GET MENU's or water. When it was finally time to order, I ordered two mofongo's to go and the waitress thought it was a good idea to wait until I was done eating my food to put the order in for the food I had ordered 40 min ago! Poor hospitality and customer service!! Being in a restaurant business you should cater to your customers. My family and I walked out because at 11AM on a Saturday- the waitress declined making more mangu for our table of 5. This is how you lose business, especially during an epidemic- you'd think they would be more willing to be flexible but clearly they're not. This goes down in the books as The WORST Dominican restaurant experience We waited over an hour to place our orders and another hour to get our food, but as if that wasn't already enough the food was the worst!! My meal had shrimp that was spoiled. Had to spit it out upon tasting. Others had dishes that simply lacked in taste. But I feel the most shameful is when Mangu (A DOMINICAN STAPLE) is so bad it is returned to the kitchen. That was as sacrilegious as a Jewish Deli making bad Matzo Balls! Loud atmosphere if that's what you're into, service does not seem to really care about making you wait, I came in on empty day and waited 60+ min for a parmigiana sandwich, I think my favorite part as well is the really loud music that plays over the speakers so you can't hear yourself talk Update food taste pretty good at home I recommend take out read more

No red sauce what's so ever , they need to be more generous with the sauce or they can just actually learn how to make a chimi , I'm Dominican so I would know , this is a Terrible representation of a chimi , waste of money . There's no tomatoes, no onions, just meat a sprinkler of sauce and cabbage , took about 40 minutes for them to make it and it was still terrible , also I tried their morir soñado (drink) and it tasted nothing like it , no sugar in it at all , will try something else from here just to give it a chance but never again ordering a chimi or a morir soñado. read more

Worst experience I just had today. I ordered my food and the lady on the phone said it will take 10 mins. I arrive on time waited 40 mins for my food. Once she rang me up I notice something missing and it was the wrong order. Not only that I asked to speak to the owner which was just their mins ago. She tells me he step outside to see if I see him, of course I did not. Then I told her and she went to the kitchen and came out made me a wait a few minutes more and then said he left. So I originally was not going to write this review because I wanted to tell the owner my experience in person that it's not okay for them to tell a customer it will be done at a certain time and they end up waiting almost an hour. I'm writing this because the lady in the front was rude and didn't get me someone I could speak to. Goes to show they don't care about customers feedback. read more

Fairly good Dominican restaurant in Copiague that has both bodega style take out on one small section in front and table service in the larger dining room. Started with garlic bread that was warm out the oven but too buttery for my liking and not much garlic. The mofongo con gambras al ajillo wasn't the best mofongo I ever had. The mashed plantain itself was tad tad too tough and chewy. The shrimp and garlic sauce made the rest of the dish palatable though. Service was a tad cold but prices are fairly reasonable. I would like to come back and try maybe one of the soupy rice and fish dishes and update my review. read more

My boyfriend, myself and my sister-in-law came here on Saturday (06/12/2021) for dinner. The food was decent. I had the rotisserie chicken, my boyfriend had fried pork chops and my sister had t-bone steak. My chicken was very flavorful but it was under cooked. My boyfriend's pork chops was over cooked. The t-bone steak was perfect. We all had white rice and beans and that was also decent. While I thought this was a Dominican restaurant, I believe it's new owners are Colombian. Again, food was decent but nothing tasted Dominican cooked. When we got there the place was almost empty but by the time we were done more and more folks started arriving. Not sure if this place turns into a party spot but we got that vibe. All in all, not bad but for the money, not the best. read more

Today I called in an order for delivery. I spelled each letter. Asked if he had he correct address. I am very patient with delivery and servers as I understand it's a tough job. Long story short food never came. I called 1 hour later and asked if there was an issue? They said we had the wrong address? And wrong phone number? Ok...so I gave them the "corrected"address and he said so sorry. Then the food did not come. I called back then the lady in the phone said there is no more delivery? I was like What? But I should already have an order in the way. She said no I understood you there is no more delivery. I called on Sunday at 11:30 am. It's Sunday at 1 pm. Right now. This is so crazy? If you cannot delver that's fine but don't keep me waiting for an hour and a half? So No I do not recommend this place. read more

Delicious food but the people that take the orders over the phone are terrible. Extremely slow and can't even recommend anything. If the personal was a bit better and had more knowledge I would definitely improve my score. Had a bad experience more than a couple of times already. They sent the wrong food or missing items and it's frustrating. La comida muy buena pero el servicio al cliente es pésimo. Los Chris is an interesting place located in Copiague that serves up really delicious food at a leisurely pace. My family and I have come here twice, both times it was pretty empty so you would think there would be attentive and quick service. But the pace of the service and kitchen staff was a little slow. It took nearly 30 minutes to get our food out. However the food was AMAZING!! I really didn't mind waiting that amount of time for the amount of flavor that went into the plates. I ordered a salmon dish cooked with garlic, and it was hands down one of the best salmon dishes I have ever had. The only other problem was that upon re-visiting and wanting to get the same dish, it didn't come out the same. The garlic flavor was more sparse, which to me hints towards a lack of consistency in the kitchen staff. Regardless we still really enjoyed the food, and I would recommend that anyone try this place at least once! read more
