After the game we were looking for some food. We were told that this establishment was amazing. So had to check it out. Upon arrival the restaurant was a food truck with outside sitting . The weather was great so outside sitting was great, and the lighting outside was nice. Ordering was quick and the food also came out immediately. My tacos were delicious, I didn't think the tacos would be enough but I was wrong. They put an ample amount of protein in the tacos . The cup of charro beans were delicious too. This place is more up and down than a roller coaster. When it's good it's one of the best hands-down places in Bell County. The few times that it's been bad there is a man at the window that takes the money that for whatever reason that crew doesn't cook as good or prepare the food like the original. On Monday night August 12th approx. 6:00 p.m. we had a to-go order of mini fajita Taco plates and charro beans. Taco meat was not fresh and was reheated with very crunchy pieces and dark in color and the beans had a very sour vinegar ketchup kind of flavor and made us gag before throwing it in the trash. A few weeks ago on a Sunday night it was the original crew and it was absolutely delicious. I think the owner should really pay attention to this either retrain the people that are not as good as the original or getting new crew that can handle. This is an Austin quality taco truck at Belton level prices. $8.99 for five tacos and a drink of your choice--hard to beat that. The tacos are small... but still big enough to make it a good deal. The buche, al pastor, barbacoa, and chorizo were all excellent, served with caramelized onions, a grilled pineapple ring for the al pastor, and some tasty salsas as well. The green was ordinary, but the red was excellent. These weren't the best I've ever had, but they were pretty darn good, definitely a surprise coming out of Waco road in Belton. For those who aren't from the area, South Austin is pretty much the top spot for Mexican food in the area. I work throughout Austin and the Houston corridor, and this reminded me of that. Even compared to street tacos from Mexico proper they hold their own. I don't know what it is, but I love rolling up to eat Mexican food at gas stations, in parking lots, and out of the way corners.
