Came here for the first time this past weekend. I ordered a tostada de ceviche, a taco de al pastor , and a sope de Asada. Nothing disappointed. It was all good. We were a party of 12 and the server didn't skip a beat, the service was good. They had a live trio. It was a little too loud for me, which is why I'm giving it a 4 star. Most of the group didn't mind the loud music though. So it depends on your preference. I can see myself visiting this spot again. I already recommended it to someone. read more

Went on a Sunday, the place wasn't that packed we were seated in the back which by the way super cold. Everyone had their coat on. Waited for 15-20 min and the waitress never came to bring us menus. We over heard the people in the table behind us talking about the waitress not checking up on them for a refill , they were clearly not satisfied with the service either. We passed right by her on the way out and she was oblivious. Hopefully the owner realizes that the waitress is awful at her job before they start losing customers. Might give this place another try at a different shift to see if it's worth going. REPLACE that waitress she is awful! read more

Margaritas are amazing! They offer different options such as strawberry, mango, peach, tamarind, cherry, guava etc.. Food: Portions are pretty big and definitely satisfy your taste buds!! The chilaquiles with chipotle sauce served with rice&beans (add steak or chicken) is a must try for breakfast. Service: We waited 10 mins before being seat. Hostess was nice.. Came here for a Juan Gabriel impresantor on Dec 30th which on the ad on facebook says nothing about reservations. We call days ahead to ask about reservations they said none needed first come first serve. Well that was lie! Poor hostess had no idea what she was doing her "head guy" told us we'll seat you asap five minutes later takes us to the area where the event is held had us standing there and then came and said sorry the one table left out of all 4 tables was for impersonator's people. So he tells sorry we have no tables. What a joke! Never will I go back to this place they have no communication between staff. No apologies either. Wish I can give no stars. read more

For a long time Berwyn has been dominated by Lalo's for table service Mexican food. I like Lalo's, but I'm glad Corrales has opened up to give them a run for their money. They're a second location of Los Corrales in the Little Village neighborhood of Chicago. I've only been to the Berwyn location once, but the food was spectacular. For a complementary appetizer we were served pickled vegetables, chips and salsa. The veggies tasted crisper and fresher than we get at Lalo's. The salsa had roasted peppers. Nicely smokey, there were flecks of lovely charred pepper in the savory mix. My wife's a vegetarian and she had the mushroom and cactus sope dinner. She was pleased with the vegetarian options, really loved the mushroom sope. I had 3 tacos à la carte, asada, avocado and barbacoa. They were all good, but the barbacoa was exemplary. Really flavorful, I could eat a whole bowl of that meat by itself. We're eager to return and try the rest of the menu. My wife really wants to explore the quesadilla selections, which get good reviews at the Little Village original. read more

We were in the area and happened upon this unassuming restaurant. Boy, are we glad we did! This is clearly a favorite of the locals. It was around noon on a Sunday and every table was taken. The menu was large and offered a bit of everything you could ask for in a mexican restaurant. The chips came with warm salsa that was hot but good. It was also served with a bowl of carrots, jalepenos and pickled garlic. My husband had the menudu and said it was delicious. It was served in a large bowl. The soup was savory, flavorful and full of meat. It was served with tortillas and a plate of fresh cilantro, jalepanos and seranos. I had the combo plate that included a taco, enchilada and tostada. The ground beef on the taco was delicious. The cheese enchila with green sauce was gobbled up quick. I had my choice of green or red sauce. The green was creamy and flavorful. We passed on alcohol, but the frosted mugs of margaritas and bloody marys looked awesome. This is not a fancy place. It is a place to go and eat delicious food with the locals. The price was right. We have been looking for a reliably good Mexican restaurant in our area. We saw the reviews for Corrales and were hoping this would be it. Unfortunately, we need to keep looking. We ordered takeout once, since they don't deliver. This is basically par for the course for most Mexican restaurants around us (except Meson). I went there and headed to the counter where you pick up & pay. A few folks employees walked by, and finally someone stopped over to cash me out. The food was solid, so we were happy. The next time we decided to dine in. It was about half full...nothing crazy. The wait to order our drinks & food was long. Also, they bring chips, salsa and pickled peppers/carrots. No napkins or utensils. We asked the waitress, after finally flagging her down, and she never brought them. The food took forever to come out. Again, not terribly busy in there and there were at least 3 waiters. The meals were fine...not very memorable. The drinks were great. My wife had a Piña Colada and I had the Michelada Corrales. We left and just decided this place was no better than the ones closer to our home. I don't think we're going to head out of our way to go there again. If we happen to have a lot of time to wait, are near there, & are more interested in drinking instead of eating a meal, we might head back. The service is not that great. One of the best Mexican places in the southwest suburbs, with good prices. Top recommended dishes: nacho appetizer (you can get steak instead of ground beef), chilaquiles (YES), and the enchilada los corrales (stuffed with hot shrimp and covered in salsa verde). Not too crowded, so we sat down where we wanted to & we were promptly greeted by a "very" energetic man, with menus, complimentary basket of fresh warm tortilla chips & warm salsa. We ordered a (3) steak taco dinner, (1) steak burrito, (1) lengua taco, (1) pork taco & 3 large horchata drinks. All for just under $25. The (3) steak taco dinner had 2 tortillas on each taco & the steak was very good, cut into small pieces (no weird pieces of grizzle or fat), Next time, I would definitely add cheese to my tacos (so they are not so dry w/ the double tortillas) and I will only order the (2) taco dinner instead of 3, because they were so filling. The rice was excellent! (finally a place that uses flavor in their rice). And the beans were great, nice & thin (just like I like).....The steak burrito was bigger then expected & my boyfriend liked it (which he is a little picky about his burritos)...I do not eat lengua, but my boyfriend said it was very good, looked like it was sliced thin enough, to not be tough. The pork taco had a good flavor, but it could of had less onions (for my liking) in the mixture & maybe a tad bit juicer. And the horchata was okay too. The service, food & price all around were pretty great! My husband and I have been looking for a good, reasonably priced Mexican restaurant ever since we moved to Oak Park. And I believe we finally found it at Las Corrales. If you are looking for someplace that is "off the beaten path", that feels like it has been around forever, that is the antithesis of generic, that serves the equivalent of Mexican comfort food, then this is your place! I have tried this place a couple of times and always got a huarache de bistec o pollo. I've liked the food and the service so recently when my brother and I were randomly craving tortas de chorizo, we decided to order from there. We carried out so I don't know if that made a difference (it shouldn't) but it might have. The chorizo wasn't fully cooked. Or maybe it wasn't undercooked but it definitely could have been fried a little longer. Taste wise, it was ok. Nothing spectacular about it. Los Corrales is a delicious piece of Mexican food and culture in Berwyn. I would describe the scenario as "cozy" yet comfortable. What caught my attention were the Chilaquiles al chile del árbol, with salsa verde, refried beans and rice. The salsa in the chilaquiles was delicious, just the right amount of lime and not too spicy yet very delicious. If you order this, make sure to order the arrachera (comes with additionally) and so worth it. It was perfectly cooked with the right amount of seasoning. However, I must say that the rice and beans were a little bland. My girlfriend had the combo which comes with an enchilada (a big portion) a taco and a tostada. The enchilada is delicious, cheesy and very well seasoned. The rice although good was a little bland. The tostada was good, the meat was well seasoned, with all the toppings. Great food! I'll be honest I was a little nervous about stopping in just because most of the Mexican restaurants around the neighborhood I have not found too pleasant. Los Corrales had a variety to choose from and the portions were huge. The tortilla chips and salsa were warm which was a huge plus. I ordered a sope with an horchata and everything was just perfect. I was looking for a place to eat a Mexican breakfast since I was in the area and decided to look up reviews of nearby restaurants. This was one that came up with good reviews so I said why not. Boy was I happy I did. Excellent food great waitress and not to mention the price was right on. I have eaten at the original one on Cermak in Chicago and it never disappoints. The wife wanted tacos and I didn't want to drive far so I try them for the tacos and once again a 10!!!!!! The whole skirt tacos, Langua (tongue) and the pastor were the bomb!!!! The down size was the sauce they were great but not spicy at all and they didn't give me the molcagete sauce the warm one and really spicy. Probably they don't have it here!!!! I became a fucking beaver creating a dam with my rice to separate the wet ass beans that were soaking my burrito, drowning it in its brown sauce. The food is really good, service was friendly but slow, and the drinks were not worth it. I chose this place after comparing reviews on different websites. This place has a lot going for it but it needs to work on the little things to get consistent repeat business at the tables. As an example, the salsa has too much spice and not great flavor as well as the pickled veggies, that are too big to eat on a chip. I had the barrchita(?), beer and tequila with citrus, but it had a spicy salt mix on the rim and something (clay wrapped?) stuck to the straw. This same spicy salt was lined on the margarita my wife ordered. The spicy salt was just not great. These are small things but they stick out in my mind. The food was very good and definitely good enough to make me consider going back, but probably just for take out or delivery. I doubt I would go back to the restaurant itself. read more

This is one of our new favorite places. There are lots of choices nearby but the food here stands out. Very fresh, not greasy and a menu with some items you don't see at other places. This place is OK inside clean. Booths are tight but booth chairs move. Great for casual dining breakfast lunch or dinner. I have had several different items on menu and everyone has been good.
