It was recommended to us by a local. We went there for breakfast. The service was amazing. We all ordered the traditional breakfast and it was delicious. May have to stop back there before we leave to try dinner.

Somehow we manage to walk by this place in Old San Juan and their signed and restaurant was inviting and pretty friendly staff who can understand English too. We were looking for Monfongo which is plaintains smash up, a signature dish in Puerto Rico and thanks to a friend who recommended to me. I order the fried pork chops with rice and beans and a pina colada (which is the best drink I had on this trip) and the food was sooo good and fresh. My friend order the pollo (chicken) with monfongo. Her was so juicy and lots of food. We were so stuff and happy. Definitely a good spot to eat and relax after all the walking we did.

    Garlic shrimp mofongo. $20

Very over priced for basic meals. Mofongo was very dry compared to others that I've had in viejo San Juan & the dish doesn't come with sides or much flavor. Save your money for something tastier.

    Mojito

Best, & freshest Mojito I've ever had! I'm from Chicago, & this place had good food and drinks. Came here for lunch

The best mojito I ever had. (coconut mojito)

Great little spot, I think our group ordered shrimp every way they make it (mofongo, with rice, and fried) and it was all delicious!

AMBIANCE Parking: Old San Juan rules--come early or be ready to walk. Seating: Multiple seating areas for individuals and small groups but it's also a cafe too so there is seating in the back too. Vibes: Clean, modern café with a mix of locals and tourists. You can tell people come here for the coffee, not just to pass through. It leans more intentional and coffee-focused rather than just aesthetic--which I appreciated. FOOD / DRINKS Coquito Frap (Recommend) When in Puerto Rico, Coquito. Creamy, coconut-forward, and lightly spiced--like a frozen coquito with a coffee twist. Sweet, smooth, and definitely more of a dessert drink than a regular latte. CUSTOMER SERVICE Friendly and efficient. Even with a crowd, things moved quickly. TL;DR OVERALL 4.5 Stars. Solid spot. Great drink options at a reasonable price. They know what they're doing. Whether you're a coffee person or just need a reset, this place delivers. Salute to the Munoz family for sharing their coffee to the world! TIPS * Try their house coffee if you want the full experience--that's what they're known for.

My sister and I got the same sandwich, Cuatro Sombras Panini and it was delicious! A bit heavy on the garlic aioli but it gave it a lot of flavor I got and iced caramel latte, I like when I can taste the coffee more than the flavoring and it was a perfect balance. My sister got their iced mocha. She likes her coffee sweeter than I do but she still really liked her drink too. The reason I'm giving this place 4 stars is because all the tables were a bit dirty. It wasn't busy when we first walked in but we still had to wipe down our own table

They had about 20 min wait for 2 on Saturday morning/afternoon which wasn't bad. Just walked around for a little bit then came back when they called. They have a few outdoor seating chairs but primary seating is indoor, interior was well decorated, well-lit, lots of greenery. They did not have physical menus, had QR codes to scan (I think maybe if you ask them, they might have few physical ones). To start, we didn't order any drinks/alcoholic beverages that morning but they have an extensive list of beverages, cocktails, coffees, juices, wines, etc. to do so, so I wouldn't discourage trying them at all. For food, we ordered the French Mallorca sandwich and the Omelette w/ bacon, potatoes, & toast. Off the bat, it was clear that the French Mallorca was a very popular choice, that sandwich was just good, period (Rating: 8.7/10), soft bread w/ crispy edges, dipping in the syrup was a requirement for this sandwich. On the other hand, the omelette with potatoes, bacon, toast weren't as good. I asked for vegetables cooked into the omelette but it looks like they didn't really cook them down. Potatoes were very good though, seasoned well, honestly carried the meal along with the crispy thick cut bacon (Rating: 6.1/10). I think I really ordered it just as a healthy option, I next time would order something else because they still do have a lot of good option on that menu that I didn't take advantage of. Overall, the service was amazing, very hospitable from the host all the way down to our server. We even had the chance to enjoy live music as a band came in and performed temporarily during our meal. If you are around the area and want to stop by, you have my recommendation. Not bad option at all.

It lives up to its botanical name with flowers and plants hanging from the ceiling and covering the walls. It is counter service and there are a few tables lining the perimeter along with some souvenir-ish items for sale. I got the iced Spanish coffee with condensed milk and cinnamon and it was delicious! Because I also had oat milk it tasted like an oatmeal cookie. They had also pastries and little cakes but I didn't partake. Highly recommend for a quick stop in the shade amidst waking the hills of Old San Juan.

The colorful streets, floral murals, and charming walkways surrounding the café make it a perfect spot for taking pictures. Honestly, some of my favorite photos came from just walking around the neighborhood. Unfortunately, the drinks didn't quite live up to the aesthetic. The coffee was pretty bland and tasted watered down. I also ordered a matcha, and it definitely wasn't what I expected. The color alone didn't resemble a traditional matcha, and the flavor was lacking. Overall, I'd come back for the ambiance, décor, and photo opportunities, but I hope the drinks improve because the café itself has so much potential.
