A++ food & service. Hosted a luncheon for my Mom Sandy's 80th birthday party with a group of 20 of her wonderful friends from the Campbell senior center. They were all made to feel like princesses. The service was over the top. I was thoroughly impressed. I had the steak fajitas that were loaded with flavor and had the perfect amount of Mexican spices. The chips and guacamole were divine. I was excited to eat dinner here because of all the items they had on the menu. My wife and I walked in at 8pm and took a seat at the "please wait to be seated" area. There was a bald man behind the front desk shuffling menus and doing other things while the rest of the staff just walked by. Ten minutes had passed, I took a peek into the dining area. Lots of empty tables. The man continued to do other things and then disappeared into the back. Twenty minutes... we were about leave and get pizza instead. Finally one of the waitresses walked by and we managed to make eye contact. She asked if we had already been helped (why else would we be sitting there?). She passed us on to another girl who finally seated us at a clean booth. The guy waiting on my table was polite and friendly. He gave us hot and fresh tortilla chips with salsa along with water within 30 seconds. As we devoured those chips, we were offered a second helping. I ordered a burrito asado which didn't take more than 10 mins to arrive. It was huge. Bigger than my head huge. The house special drinks we ordered were strong and very flavorful. I was really satisfied with the food either because I was so hungry or the food was just really good. As we left, I had to be the one to thank them as no one seemed to be paying any attention to us. Came here for dinner as I had visited this place the year before. Unfortunately, the quality of food had slipped as I ordered the combo plate of 2 chicken enchiladas and a taco. The black beans which I ordered were very watery and care had not been taken to drain them prior to plating them and this led to a very "wet taco" The margarita was still just as great as I remembered. read more

I was really let down by this Los Dos Amigos location. When my wife and I went in to eat, we were so happy to know that we found the same restaurant in Eugene when we moved here. Unfortunately, the portions of food were considerably smaller and the price was higher that what we were used to. The Los Dos Amigos we're used to eating at is in North Bend Or. I know it's a smaller community, but the food is better tasting....the price is cheaper....and there's MUCH more food on your plate. In fact we haven't been back to the LDA here in Eugene for quite a few months. I've really been craving mexican food, gonna have to find a new spot up here for sure. read more

Had lunch here yesterday and it was very good. I like the place, it's clean and light. The booths are nice, also it doesn't get to noisy talk without yelling. The service was excelent. Our server took care of the table the way it should be done, he was asking us to refill our water, coffee, chips, salsa not the other way around. The food took a little longer than other places but that's because it's not "fast food" it's real food and it's good. And be hungery or plan on taking some home. I hate having to hand out bad reviews, but when you gotta warn people, that's what you have to do. When you walk in at a busy time, expect to be left to your own devices trying to figure out whether anyone is going to seat you regardless of the "wait to be seated" sign. I understand if nobody has the time at the moment, but when someone actually goes up to the host stand, they should AT LEAST look a new guest in the face and let them know what's going on. Weird service. The real comment I have, though, is the god awful food. I've eaten at family-style Mexican restaurants plenty throughout my life. I just wanted some tacos. What I got was three piles of shredded lettuce with a small amount of finely chopped tomatoes and even tinier amount of meat, all topped with three of the SOGGIEST (nearly unrecognizable) tortillas. They couldn't even get the stuff actually rolled up into the tortilla for some reason? This might have been only the second time I took one bite and decided it was food not worth eating. The server seemed extremely busy, so she never checked up until we were ready to go, but it would've been nice to have someone check in at least once. Definitely not coming back. The tacos weren't the only bland, lifeless things on our plates. How do you mess TACOS up? Haha. read more

I really want to like this place more but just can't. The service is first rate and the place is kept clean. Now the rub: The food is typical Mex-American. I just ate here this evening and have "repeats" real bad and SNAP! This is what happens pretty much everytime I eat here. Also, I'm thirsty and sleepy, thus, they may enhance their food (I hope not!!). The Carne Asada is just OK at best. The shrimp is just OK at best and the rice and beans at best are just OK. Considering the places I have ate at up north in Woodburn and Canby, Los Dos Amigos Hacienda has a ways to go to catch up with these guys when it comes to quality of food. The wait staff is very friendly, welcoming, and attentive to your needs. For birthdays everyone will come out and serenade you in Spanish and prop a huge sombrero on your head, hehe. Possibly embarrassing, yet could be fun, up to you. The food's a bit overpriced with respect to not being authentic Mexi food as well as smaller portions than what you can get from a whole in the wall restaurant for about 3 bucks cheaper. To me, PF Changs is to Chinese food as Los Dos Amigos is to Mexi food: a slightly fancier place to eat food that tastes good, but not great. It really depends what you order. Some menu items are bland and you'll be needing to add some spices of your own to make it better, but there are some items like the tortilla soup and pollo a la crema that really stand out with flavor and deliciousness! It's worth going to a couple of times if you want Mexi food in a nicer restaurant. Margaritas there are kinda pricey, but you definitely get your money's worth on those. They're HUGE and very very very alcoholic, and taste great :) read more

This place has had some ups and downs with me. I like that it's super clean and has great service. The first time my husband and I ate here we shared the Fajitas for Two. It was great! The shrimp were fresh and the steak was amazing!!! The next time I went, I got the crab enchiladas and thy tasted like thy had gone bad. I shared a bite with my husband and he had to spit it into his napkin. I ended up sharing his Asado Burrito. (Which was really good). About a month ago I took my mom and we both had the flautas. They were ok. I like the food here but I think it's overpriced. If they would knock several buck off of each item, it would make me want to come here more. read more

My family used to live nearby and Los Dos was the date night location for the missus and I. Coming from a food/beverage service background in the Southeast, service is important to me, and I am consistently let down in Eugene, the city that thinks YOU owe THEM something for eating in their place. Not the case here. Service is always fast and courteous. The food is basic "hey, what should we serve up to the gringos" Mexican food. Not authentic make your taste buds explode Mexican, but the same stuff you would find just about anywhere. Definitely good enough to enjoy, but you're not going to write home about it. Prices are fair. Atmosphere is strip mall Mexican. I would have giving a 3 star , but I have had too many good times there to drop the 4. read more

Titled the worst! My girlfriend and I had just moved into the neighborhood so since it was right around the corner we checked this place out . We walked in and it was busy we sat at the bar area at a table . A gentleman came up and asked us what we were having, we asked how much are the margaritas and he mumbled something and said two of those and I said how much are your margaritas and he stopped and walked over to the cash register and finally came back with the price . That was strike number one my girlfriend ordered pork enchilada she said it was okay the pork was good but it was just okay . I ordered something easy and had chicken quesadillas . When my meal came it was just boiled chicken boiled because it was still wet and cheese and the wrapping and that was it nothing else on it . The waiter came over in a little while and asked how everything was and I said it's not a quesadilla this is just wet chicken with cheese . I said don't worry about it I'm not looking to get it taken off I just won't come back . And he said to us when you go to a Mexican restaurant in order chicken quesadilla it's like that everywhere you go. We paid and walked out will never go back . My husband and I were frequent customers at this restaurant. However, the last two times we had a meal there it was very disappointing. Service was poor. After taking our order and delivering the food no one ever came back to ask how everything was or to refill drinks or chips. The meals were barely luke warm. One of these meals was on my husband's birthday so it ruined our evening. Interestingly, when we left today after this poor service and food another couple was exiting and said "We are never coming back here again! The food tastes so weird!" Been here a few times and it is usually busy, that is one way to tell a good spot. I ask questions when I order like " what the best thing on the menu?" I trust recommendations, I got "Oh I don't know." well neither do I!! So I ordered a combo plate with 3 different items and meats. I like to do that to see what they do well. Went with my husband tonight who's been wanting to go. The girl who sat us seemed like she'd rather be anywhere but there. The restaurant was clean but lacked personality, which isn't a deal breaker just something to note for those looking for ambience. We were served chips, salsa, and water right away. Our server was efficient and our food came put quickly. I wasn't impressed with what I ordered: the cheese enchilada was too salty and even though I ordered a chicken taco they brought out a beef one. I didn't bother to send it back since they use premade taco shells so I knew I wouldn't be super crazy about it anyways. My husband said his was okay and he cleaned his plate so it must've been decent. Overall the experience was fine, I just think we'd likely go to Chula or Chapala over this place. read more

I would rate this service as a NEGATIVE 5 stars for customer service!!! Took my wife to dinner and had a terrible experience!!! Once seated, the "waitress" eventually showed up and without any greeting asked: "You want something to drink?" We just ordered water. 20 minutes later (the restaurant was not busy at all) she showed up and asked "are you ready to order yet?" We did so. 20 minutes later the food arrived with the "plate's" hot, but upon our first bite discovered the food on the plate was cold! We attempted to get the waitress' attention, but she stayed in the kitchen and never checked in with us! We had to ask for the bill at the front as we were leaving! I asked for the manager but was told he was not there! Went in the next day to speak with the manager to provide feedback, told him the experience and he asked what time we were there. I advised him and he told me "I was here!" I said that I was told he was not by his own employee....he disagreed!!??!! No apologies followed by some rude comments! Great managerial skills for an effort to reduce patronage! Will NEVER go back and will relay this experience to all I know!!!. read more

Friendly, attentive without hovering, gave great advice on the menu, food arrived fast and exactly as ordered. Great chips too. Price was reasonable. I liked the place a lot - ....until three hours later when I projectile-vomited the whole thing back up. You don't want to know where the rest of it came out. I had to call off work sick that night. I have so many memories of this local joint, that span back some 8 plus years. A bunch of my friends used to work for Remaxx and Los Dos was our spot to unwind or simply have 'meetings'. I don't get to go as often anymore because I live so far on the other side of town (and by far I mean like a 10 minute drive). So when I do get to go I pretty much always order the same thing.....enchiladas rancheras. It's like crack for me, that sauce is just..mmmmm. And for two enchiladas, rice and beans, it is SO filling. Los Dos is such a great place to socialize, bring in a group of friends and watch the game and laugh over ridiculously large margaritas and pina coladas. My last visit was a huge disappointment. My friend and I decided to grab some dinner after an event we'd attended and were so hungry. It was pretty busy as usual, so we placed our orders to go. Well the people seated next to us, who had arrived and ordered after us, got their meals while we sat waiting to receive our order and pay. We decided to just walk up to the counter so that we could at least pay, and then proceeded to wait quite a bit longer for our food. Once we got our food, we left and took our respective to go orders home. Once I got home I realized that the dish I brought home was not the one I had ordered. Not a big deal, I figured there was no point in driving all the way back, waiting for the right order to be made then drive all the way back home. So I called the next day and spoke with the manager who quite frankly made me feel like I was being grilled for doing something wrong...he kept asking me, why didn't I call back, and are you sure it was the wrong order, how do we know what you ordered, am I supposed to take your word that it was the wrong order, only to concede that if I came in he'd refund me saying, it's only $10, $10 isn't going to make or break me. There was no understanding or apologies...which threw me off since I've always had such a great experience every time I dine in. So will I go back and get my refund? Yes. Will I go back to dine anytime soon? I don't think so. Customer service is huge in my book, and when someone such as the manager can't even muster up any sympathy for a mistake they made and automatically assumes that I'm trying to scam them...well it doesn't sit well with me. I do love the enchiladas ranchers at Los Dos, so I will go back at some point...but not anytime soon. read more

I went there in person to ask for a reservation for 10 people on a Tuesday night. I was told that they don't take reservations but I could come in early to try and get a table. I told them that we have a 7-month baby in our group and we can't just wait around for 30 minutes for a table to open up. I offered to give my credit card as a guarantee but I got attitude from one of the servers who said in an annoying voice, "Well....what do you want me to do?? Like, call my boss or something?" I reminded them that we would be a large group of paying customers. But they didn't want our money. So we went elsewhere. I understand their no reservations policy for a Friday or Saturday night. But I didn't need the rude treatment.....especially when we are trying to plan my grandma's memorial service! Take your money elsewhere with better, more compassionate staff! read more

Unfortunately my service was pretty non-existent. It wasn't that they were rude, they simply weren't there. I happened to be alone on this visit, so perhaps that influenced the level of service.
