This restaurant use to be a great place to eat. They have raised their prices, drastically reduced the amount of food they give you and cheapened their quality of food that they serve. I am very disappointed!! and this has been a trend for the past several months. Waitresses are not very nice and they are not what I would call friendly. We decided that we needed to try to find us a new restaurant to add to our rotation. We love TexMex and thought, since the tourist season is over in New Braunfels, we would try a new place in town. Using Yelp, we narrowed it down to a couple of places. This one was nearest and had 4 and half stars, so we picked it. In arriving at the location, a small strip center, we found parking to be a real pain. I should have worn my hiking boots as we couldn't park anywhere near the restaurant. After making our long trek, we opened the door and found a small restaurant with 2 small rooms for dining. The help was friendly and walked us to a table in the room to the left. We felt like we were in a private dining room reserved just for us. Our waitress brought us our menus and took our drink orders. The menu was rather large and had all the usual things to order. When she came back, we both ordered a lunch special that consisted of a taco, enchilada, rice, and beans. They also served the usual chips and salsa which were both very good (salsa did need more kick to it). Orders came out quickly but were mixed up. One of us ordered a beef enchilada while the other ordered cheese, and one of us ordered our beef taco all the way while the other just wanted cheese. We were able to rearrange things so that the right food was on each plate. Both of us thought our food was tasty, and if I had written my review at the time we left the restaurant, I was between a 4 and 5 on rating. In the middle of the night, things started to happen, and I don't mean in a good way. I woke up with stomach cramps and a need to get to our bathroom quickly. This went on all night. Clostridium perfringens is a type of food poisoning that fit my symptoms. I can't say that is what I got for sure, but the fact that it was gone before lunch the next day and met all the indications of that kind of food poisoning, I'm going to take a wild guess and say it was. Small little Mexican restaurant serving up fresh Mexican food. We came with a group of 8 and even with the place being small, they were able to accommodate seating for us after a short wait. I got the chorizo platter, that came with chorizo mixed with eggs, refried beans, tortillas and potatoes. It was a large portion of food but was perfect for filling my craving for breakfast tacos. The salsa verde had a deep roast flavor to it but wish it had a bit more heat. Overall great cheap breakfast spot for mexican food. read more

I was really hoping to find an alternate to Tias Tacos because they are always so busy so gave Los Dos Garcias a try. Three breakfast tacos... chicken fajita, carne asada and pastor. The good.... Green sauce and corn tortillas were excellent. The bad.... Every taco was dry and bland. Thankfully I was able to cover it with green salsa to make it edible. The two Garcias deliver big fresh, authentic tacos We sampled breakfast tacos every day on a long trip through Austin and Hill Country and we could not get Los Dos Garcias out of our heads. It got our vote for "best all around" on our trip. The small taqueria delivers tacos mas frescos autenticos. The tortillas are made from fresh masa and the service is friendly and quick. Our favorite "tacos charros order" came with a tender and lean mix of pastor/asada with the just the right amount charro beans, cilantro and heat to wake you up. Everything is priced-right too! It is great to have a really good restaurant take over the former Hannas after some less than stellar replacement restaurants. The food is fresh, flavorful, and delicious!! I've tried a number of items on the menu, all delicious!! The sopes and tortas are exceptional as well as the breakfast tacos. The two salsas, red and green are also very good!! Stopped in for a few breakfast tacos this morning. Hanna's which used to be in this same spot was my absolute favorite place for breakfast tacos. I definitely miss them. However this place does have tacos that are almost as good as Hanna's used to be. It will be my new favorite go to place for tacos. The owners are warm and friendly too, thank you guys!
