parking can be a hassle. great service. the place is clean & not overly loud. pretty reasonably priced and many options. my only negative is that they don't offer too many a la carte items, but they do accommodate substitutions w/ no extra charge (for us, at this visit, not sure that is standard). we were all pleased with our dishes and recommend this location (the parker location is too gringoed-down in our opinion & WAY too loud).

Great queso, salsa, fajitas and drinks. All the best staples of a good Mexican restaurant. I usually try chimichangas when I go to new places but my gf and I split fajitas. They only have fajita plates for one but it was enough to share.

I'm new to the area and wanted to try a Mexican restaurant. This place is absolutely amazing! It was packed which is always a good sign but the food speaks for itself! Everything that came out perfectly! It was very flavorful, presentation was nice, and our server was amazing! We ordered the queso dip, mango mango Margarita, steak burrito, and for dessert sopapillas. Definitely my new favorite Mexican restaurant! I highly recommend this place!

It was about an hour wait on a Friday night. The space was bustling and loud. Service was fast. The food was delicious. I do wish they took the time to melt the cheese on my mocajete but it was still good.

Los dos potrillos overall is a solid Mexican restaurant that you can visit. I will say depending on which location can slightly make one better than the other. We usually visit the parker Los Dos Potrillos, but this time we tried the original location. Our go to dish is the molcajete with the spiciest sauce. It is a solid dish, but for some reason, this visit, the dish dish not hit the craving per usual. Due to picking the spiciest sauce, they informed us at this location that the sauce would be on the side. I wish it wasn't because the sauce simmering makes a huge difference. The carne Asada fries was alright. I wish the meat was seasoned a little more, but it isn't the worst and better than a mid carne asada fries. I can share that I may just be spoiled from the fries I am used to from San Diego. I know because this location is the first, the restaurant is a little darker than the other locations and homey. It may be more authentic as being in a restaurant in Mexico. Personally, I love Los dos but I have a preference of going to the parker location. And last note, the parker is harder because it is a busier lot.

First time coming to this location, and I've got to say, it was a much better overall experience than the one I had at the Castle Rock location after they opened. We showed up for an early lunch and were seated right away. I ordered the combination fajitas, and my friend had a beef burrito. Drinks and chips/salsa came out fast. Our lunches came out soon thereafter. I could hear my fajitas sizzling...that's how they should be...sizzling on a scalding skillet, not served hot on a plate. Beef and chicken were very good. Tortillas are delicious. Lots of peppers and onions with really good flavor too. You could tell it was all cooked together, not separate and then assembled at the end. Service was friendly and prompt the entire meal. Will definitely be back.

Fresh tortillas and copy of check out much was split between 3 people.

To start, this is my Favorite restaurant chain in CO! This was my first time at THIS location and the service was a little disappointing compared to the Parker location. Never refilled chips and didn't ask if we wanted refills. After asking for more chips 3x, I had to get a little snippy and once I did, the service improved. This Los Dos location has the mom and pop Mexican feel which I love! When you walk in it's like walking straight into Mexico. I didn't see the tortilla making station but I might have missed it. Food is AMAZING! Some of the best queso in town. Skinny Margs are THE BEST. It's pricy but definitely worth it. Parking here is terrible.

We all shared the giant cinnamon roll. It was more of a cinnamon sugar biscuit than a traditional cinnamon roll, but large enough for four of us to share. It was a little dry in some parts so definitely grab a spoonful of the glaze when you put it on your plate. The overall flavor was fine and I'm really glad I shared it with friends. I heard you could get one frozen to go and you just heated up at home just as good. For my sandwich, I ordered the Lola. It's a Buttermilk Biscuit Sandwich with Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Bacon, House Made Honey Butter + covered in Maple Syrup. Pro tip, have the maple syrup on the side or your hands will be very sticky when trying to eat it. The overall flavor of the biscuit, fried chicken, bacon, honey butter, and maple syrup was a really good combo! The biscuit was just a little more crumbly than I'm used to, so I struggled eating it as a whole sandwich. I would definitely get it again, but cut it up into bite-size pieces and eat it with my fork. There are a couple other really good options on the menu that I want to try so I'll definitely be back!
