Had a breakfast burrito at Santiago's for the first time this week. From what I hear it's a local favorite. The service was extremely fast- it was a window service or drive thru- no sit in. The burrito was big and filling but not painfully filling as some regular burritos are. I am curious if they make their own tortillas- it wasn't my favorite tortilla but it wasn't bad by any means. I will most definitely comeback for a bean burrito next time I'm in town- being less than $4. A smothered breakfast burrito with beans added was $8 roughly. Get in line, order, pay at the cashier. Wait for your order to be prepared at the pick up counter next to the kitchen area. There are about four spots to sit and wait. Otherwise, it is SRO. I purchased 2 floured and bacon breakfast burritos and 2 ground beef crispy tacos. Both were freshly made, packaged well, and tasty. One of the best quesadillas I've had! There is normally a line at this location but it moves quick. They pump out orders FAST! Sometimes it can have a bit of a "soup nazi" vibe (Seinfeld episode iykyk). While you should come prepared knowing what you want and pay quickly, they are very friendly regardless. But again, they are trying to get people in and out so no dilly dallying at the register. Truly some of the best food and their prices are unbeatable. There is no seating at this location and very limited parking but you can find street parking on the side streets easily. If you haven't experienced their breakfast burritos, you should go. We usually visit this Santiago's and they're usually quick and kind. Today, however, we ordered an order of beans because my grandma forgot we didn't have any frozen. We were given rice instead of beans, and this may have been just a small error. But, my grandma has a bad knee and she was starving, so she was irritated. She called back and let them know how frustrated she was with them. When my grandma went back for her beans, the cashier said to his co-worker, "Yeah you should've heard the customer I just got off of the phone with. She was fucking pissed. She got rice and she ordered beans. She was so fucking mad it was ridiculous." My grandmother, being the customer who called in, felt very disrespected considering we've been going here for years. Beef and bean burrito smothered in the hot green chili is yum nom om. Add sour cream. No lettuce. The food is only takeout so be prepared to eat your meal in a Styrofoam container. It makes it difficult while driving. It may be dangerous but it can be done. However I do recommend pulling over to the side of the road, perhaps at a park, to consume the goodness while watching the beautiful nature that surrounds.
