Had an impressively tasty dinner tonight at Los Gallos Mexican Restaurant!!! Gloria and Carlos were so hospitable. Kind, friendly and full of information. Well I kinda grilled them to get details. New owners - New Chefs - New Menu, and a large menu at that. BUT they'll make anything you ask. Even if not on the menu. They have a significant amount of seafood items now that they didn't before. And soups. Full bar. Beer is cold. Soda is carbonated. The food was fabulous! Salsa flavorful. But like another buzz member said, they have really hot salsa if you ask. And they also have green salsa. The portions are quite big too. Like the cheese enchilada plate you see here. Looks like two burritos! My crunchy taco shells are made fresh. Just really really good!! *NEW AND IMPROVED* Los Gallos is under new ownership, and it's so much better than before! The food and service were stellar, and the prices were beyond reasonable! Kiss to the chef for the steak tampiquena and shredded beef tacos! The menu is so extensive that I'd need a scanner and a dropbox to upload, so there is definitely something for everyone. So I recently started a new position in this neighborhood and saw Los Gallos while going for a walk on my break. A few days later I decided that I was going to try it and I'm so happy that I didn't wait any longer. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. I had the birria tacos but this place has a menu that can satisfy any appetite of a large party given all of its options. The restaurant itself is super inviting, really clean, and the staff were extremely inviting. Do yourself a favor and ignore those foodie influencers who turn you on to mediocre food and come try the real deal at Los Gallos. I also heard that at the time of my visit that they were under new management but regardless of that fact, they're definitely doing Mexican food right. read more

I want to say that we know a lot of old regulars and we recently went with one of these regulars. The prices have gone up modestly but the food is excellent and the ambiance is a little brighter. We haven't been by in a bit and they have new owners now. New owners plus a new and far more extensive menu. I've been in twice in as many weeks for their burrito bowl. It is so filling and the carne asada is soooo good! The wait staff all seem to be the same and they're always really nice. The dining area is sparkling clean and the ladies room has a fresh coat of paint. We were given a little cup of their ranch dressing and that was great! Maybe next time I'll try a salad? read more

The more I go, the more I'm liking it. Went awhile back on a Monday and had the daily special of ceviche which was really fresh and a potato taco which was quite large, very tasty. Well today my son and I stopped by for a small snack. I don't think they do anything "small" jk. We shared a "regular" sized shrimp cocktail, side of guacamole and we both had a margarita. Left very full and beyond satisfied. Will definitely be going back, probably to try the gobernader tacos which our server highly recommended. read more

I've been coming to Los Gallos for about 3 or so years. They are a few blocks from my workplace so the proximity is great. They are now under new ownership but thankfully at least for now, they have retained the same wait staff who are great. Since the new ownership took over the food has really gone up a few notches in quality. The salsa is better than before, everything seems to have been given an upgrade. The menu is now filled with wonderful options that were not present before. With the amount of really good mexican places around the area like Ranch Enchilada, Whole Enchilada, Esther's and several others, I now rank Los Gallos at the very top of that bunch. Well done. We recently hosted dinner for our entire family. All 14 of us aged 4 months to 77 years old. Parents, children and grand children. We were seated at a long table family style. Our server, Gloria, was attentive and very personable. We all ordered something different. Burritos, tostadas, steak fajitas, shrimp and enchiladas. Everyone enjoyed their selection. I had a large Margarita that was excellent. I would recommend it without any hesitation. We will dine there again soon. Gloria kept us not wanting for anything! read more

It's okayyy. Everything is super SPICY. Like for no reason. It's like they throw spice in all the dishes to give it "flavor" maybe? I don't know. I was not a fan of this place. Sure, yeah, it's cheap food. But it's really bland. For example, the Mexican rice had zero flavor without the hot sauce on it. The cheese enchiladas with green sauce had my throat burning. I traded enchilada plates with my boyfriend since he did the same thing, but with red sauce. And it wasn't spicy (thank goodness), but it was blah tasting. Just food. I felt like what I would imagine a cow tastes when they just graze on grass all the time. Like how exciting can it be to just eat grass? That was my level of excitement eating Los Gallos. The Chile relleno was like soggy and blah. Not enough cheese. It tasted like all egg. The chips were the only thing I genuinely liked. They were warm and greasy. I was doing a job down the street and was craving a mojarra (Fried Fish). As soon as I walked in I was greeted and sat at the bar top. I was by myself and didn't need a table. Los Gallos has been my favorite restaurant since 1991. The food has always been great. Since changing ownership the prices have increased slightly and the meals are even better. My husband and I met up with his family members at Los gallos recently. Inside the restaurant, overall look decent. Susie was our waitress, she was good on checking on us about ordering food and see if everything okay. However, toward the end, nobody came to check on us as we're ready to pay. And, usually when customer asked for the take-home box, they will also bring plastic or paper bag to put the take-home box in. I had to go ask for one at the counter, also have to ask for my bill so I can pay our meal. Over All, the food were okay, customer service could be a bit better. read more

Ordered a Carnitas burrito, the meat had decent flavor but the beans and tortilla was cold. And it wasn't rolled good enough, had to hold it with both hands inside the foil so everything wouldn't fall out. Beans tasted ok and could be better, the tortilla chips were bad. When I bit into them all you could really taste was the oil. The salsa that came with meal had good flavor at least. So there's plenty of room for improvement read more
