We had the asada chimichanga and the chile relleno. Both items are supposed to be fried but I suppose they do not fry items? Because I believe they were both grilled. Flavors were just okay. Not too impressed. Some of the tortilla chips were stale. Some customers were offered various salsas but we were not. I did not know they had other salsa options until they offered someone else so I went up to ask for it. The staff/family working this restaurant are very very kind! Service was nice. I just wish the food was better. When I went to pay I saw their meats were cooked prior to the orders? seems on their large grill, the meats were cooked and slid to the side of the grill so that it may be reheated once ordered? When dining in, they have their complimentary chips and salsa bar that's unbeatable. Now every Mexican restaurant in town has something that's better than the other. Mi Pueblito has the Best street tacos. We order it Spicy, and their salsa is incredibly tasty! Lately, I've been hooked on their burritos, those too are the best! There are a number of Mexican food places in Lincoln and surrounding towns and it's nearly impossible to keep track of them all. We came here on the recommendation of a friend. The exterior of the building looks new and fresh, similar to a fast food place. The interior reveals something different. It looks like an old diner that's been converted, just starkly unlike the outside. Exterior facelift? It's also odd that they use a G Street address instead of Lincoln Blvd. Parking is wrapped around the building and somewhat limited. Menus were delivered as soon as we got seated and it's primarily typical US Style Mexican fare, nothing unusually unique. Chips and salsa arrived at the table right away, both good. The salsa has a lot of body to it, which I like. It's not a soupy tomato based sauce. I ordered a "Super Burrito" with Chili Verde and it came with all the expected items including rice, beans, cheese, sour cream, etc. I would have preferred black beans and I should have asked if that's an option. The beans that came with it were fine. Overall the burrito was quite delicious and very filling. I did find, however, that the sour cream seemed different in appearance, almost like it had separated, yet tasted just fine. I suspect mixed with the chili verde it takes on a different consistency. I washed it down with a Guava Mexican soda, a good accompaniment. Service was super friendly and prompt. We came at an off time with few patrons yet I was still amazed how quickly the food came out after ordering. A number of people came for take out orders. I was introduced to this gem of a Mexican restaurant by my mother and sister. They have been coming here for years for the best fish tacos in the world! Among the other favorites are the cheese enchiladas and chile rellenos. I love every dish I've tried, though I must admit, my current favorite is the flautas dinner plate. Nice, quiet, and quaint. My server, Maritza, was very nice and helpful. I did not order off the menu, but asked her to have the chef make whatever he thinks is best. When we pulled up we didn't have great expectations as it kinda looks like it used to be a drive thru .... So ... we ordered and were so surprised at the flavors of everything and the portions were huge but at the same time they had a 'crispy taco' for like $5 which had your choice of meat ... We love this wonderful little gem of a restaurant in Lincoln. The prices are great, as is the service- and my husband ADORES the chili verde-- fresh, flavorful, tender with just the right amount of lime and tomatillo, etc. Other places it is too acidic but here is perfect. In town for a birthday party decided to grab a few meats for the festivities. We order Birra and Carnitas'!!!! Both were so good and affordable. The Birra meat came with the dipping sauce. The Carnitas was delicious full of flavor. Depending on whos eating it could be a little less salt but despite that, I was so happy. Doing less work for brunch please sign me up! In short: good service, food, and experience. Service: as soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a really nice lady and she asked if I was dining in or picking up. She was polite, courteous, and made me feel comfortable. She even remembered me from when I stopped by before and this goes a long way with me. Food: the food is consistent and good, I've been coming here for years because they're the only place in town who makes a spicy option for their super burrito. Most places just offer the salsa, this place gives you spice if you want it and I'm here for it. The carne asada in the burrito was seasoned to perfection and stood out among the other ingredients in the best way possible. The beans were perfect: soft and flavorful. Guacamole was solid and creamy, loved it. The Mexican rice in the burrito was phenomenal. It was flavored well and really complemented the meat and beans well. The spice: i LOVE the heat and flavor. I never get tired of the spicy burrito. Ambiance: this place has a small town friendly taqueria feel and I love it. Other places can be noisy and loud and this place is peaceful for a person who has PTSD like myself. Employees are friendly and customers are happy with their meal choices. This is my nieces favorite place. So we came for her birthday. Best parts. The chip and salsa bar. My other niece and my wife say that the pico is the best ever. I hate raw tomatoes so I take their word for it. There some other salsas that are deceptively spicy but good. The kids got bean burritos. Filling and well priced. They were fans. I got a taco assortment. Store bought tortillas but they were good. The verde was amazing. I wish I had gotten all of them. The pastor tasted ok but was a little too crispy for my taste. This place is great! My favorite thing has been their tacos and their steak super burrito. You can also turn the super burrito into a breakfast burrito by adding egg which ended up being amazing! but the nachos are pretty great! The service is amazing!
