I hate leaving bad reviews, but this place is very disappointing. I've seen it on DoorDash, and figured I'd give it a try while my kid was at practice up the street. I ordered the beef and chicken dinner tacos plate, and it came out looking like a kids' plate from most other Mexican restraunts. There was maybe an ounce of meat, covered with lettuce and cheese. Smallest amount of meat on any tacos I've ever seen. Tiny scoop of beans and a decent portion of rice. The server was very nice and offered to make another one with extra meat, which came out looking more like a normal taco. She also offered a discount, which was nice, but not necessary. read more

This place has great chips and their taco shells are amazing. However; I ordered 3 beef tacos at 4.25 a taco. This is what the meat looked like in EVERY taco. There not 50 cents of meat in all 3 tacos. Sorry, but this is the last time I will order from here. read more

I moved to the area from the bay area and it's been hard to find a good Mexican restaurant since moving here. I'm Mexican and Guatemalan and I love to cook but some nights I just don't want to and I've been looking for a good restaurant. I Ordered a hard shell beef taco no guac and it was pretty good. (8/10) I also ordered the 2 enchiladas with green sauce and rice and beans. The rice is pretty good (8/10) The beans were a 7/10 good beans. The enchiladas were good but the sauce tasted like it was from a can. It was still good but i like verde sauce from scratch. The enchiladas were also rolled a little sloppy so they u folded but nonetheless I would give them a 7.5/10. Overall, it was a good meal. I wish that I would have gotten just the hardshell tacos with guacamole. I feel like that would've been a great meal. read more

Pick ANOTHER Restaurant! Worst ever!! Past experience was great, current experience: 2 large rice=$30.00! 2 large salsa=&28.00! 1 large refried beans =$15.00! 1 chips & sala=$6.00 Just under $85.00! Salsa was put into multiple styrofoam containers, rice was put into cardboard containers (pulled any & all moisture from rice), refried beans beans put into same cardboard containers (as if it were leftover takeout from eating in-house). The refried beans stuck to the cardboard container & imploded! I was able to maybe save 1/4 of beans. The beans were watered down & disgusting. This is not the 1st, but the last time I order from this restaurant. Beware, this restaurant is ONLY taking into consideration their bottom line revenue. I have been a bi-weekly customer for several years, however the quality is severely reduced & pricing severely increased. I'll open a can of refried beans & make my own rice going forward. I tried La Villa for the first time in a long while. I opted for takeout and brought my lunch home. The food was good. Nicely packaged, decent sized portions and tasty. My order included the Two Tacos Dinner, a Tostada along with extra Rice and Beans. The tacos were filled with shredded beef along with extra guacamole in crispy shells. Delicious and filling, particularly with the rice and beans that came with the meal. My Tostada was also very good with large pieces of well-seasoned pork. This was a full meal by itself. As it turns out, I did not need the extra rice and beans I ordered...but I ate them anyway!! Prices were very competitive. read more

If I could give this place negative stars I would. I've been to a bunch of mediocre restaurants but usually don't take time out of my day to write a bad review on someone's business.. but this guy deserves it. Pretty sure he was the owner by his demeanor.. I told him my order was wrong and his response was that he could not correct it as he can't take the loss! Have you ever heard of a restaurant in the food service industry blatantly saying this to a customer?! Wouldn't eat here again if it was the last place left on Earth. We try this place back when we moved here in January and have been coming back here ever since they have the best Mexican food in town and it's only not even five minutes from us they use very great quality in the field that they use my favorite item is the chicken tacos with the beans and rice they give chips with every order that you get my Mom saver item is the chicken taco and the cheese enchilada I hate recommend trying this location if you love Mexican food like I do they are very quick to do your own hair when you place it on the phone and when you place it in person I will definitely be coming back here very soon for more visits this is my go to place great food great employees clean atmosphere clean establishment clean restrooms clean parking lot. Put off this review for a while hoping they would improve but hasn't happened, in fact gotten worse. Ordered super nachos for take out today and once I got home the nachos,,,so called $13 super nachos was the size of a freakn $5 nachos bell grande from Taco Bell!! Side of jalapenos were completely soggie, old and smelled funny. Barely 5 small pieces of meat, maybe a few teaspoons of nacho "canned sauce" on the bottom, and barely any beans. Went there last year a couple times only because they are close by, and disappointed both times. My kids school lunch taste better than these guys pathetic attempt at Mexican food. I will definitely never go back, even if they were The last Mexican restaurant on Earth!! I might ad that their are many Mexican restaurants in town and every one of them has good,,,great food but that's just my take on it. No hard feelings guys,,,just my opinion! read more

We've come here since they've opened. We love the chimichangas here. You can either order it with chicken, pork or beef. It is humongous! We order it as a combination so you get rice and beans along with it. The fresh salsa and homemade chips are really yummy too. I highly recommend coming here for lunch, the chimichanga lunch special is about $6.50. The food here is fresh and fast. There are a number of other Mexican restaurants in town and we love them all, but La Villa has really never disappointed us. read more

I think I picked good time to stop in here, it was a little after 11AM and I had the place to myself. It was my first visit there and it was hard to tell if this was a sit down and they bring you a menu, or you walk up and order kind of place. So I walked up to the counter and found a menu taped to the countertop, so I am assuming this is where I order. I was greeted with the sweetest lady. I didn't see exactly what I wanted on their menu, so I asked her if I could order just three carnitas tacos with chips and salsa and an ice tea. She says no problem, rings me up, I sign, I tipped as though I were dining in and take a seat. A couple minutes pass and she has my order ready in a to-go box, she sees me seated and is embarrassed that she didn't ask if it was for dine in or take out. No biggie, I tell her it's fine. She pre-packaged a couple different kinds of salsa, so that was nice she didn't just assume that I wanted one kind. I am a hot and spicy freak, so thank goodness there was some with some spice. The pic de gallo was good, the tomatoes were fresh and it had a nice lime tang to it. The hot salsa had a consistency that resembled water...no bueno, I didn't care for that one at all. The chips were alright...some yelpers were mentioning them as if they needed some kind of introduction...blank stare...I didn't notice anything special. I opened the box containing my tacos, no lime...bummer...it's ok...I also notice that the carnitas is cut into squares. Being a cook this slightly concerned me, if you can cut carnitas into squares, how is it slow cooked, moist and tasty? One bite and I stood corrected! Although the meat wasn't shredded, it WAS juicy and had fantastic flavor, it wasn't overly oily also which was nice. Loved the tacos! I think I would stop in again next time I am in town. read more

Been coming to this place a while. It used to be an excellent place to grab a quick taco, enchiladas or my personal favorite was their chimichanga. I went there today with family . Ordered a bunch of food. The $7.99 rolled tacos(3) was more like 1 1/2 to a normal rolled taco. The steak in my chimichanga was non existent. It was an $8.99 fried bean and cheese burrito.everything lacked flavor. Nothing seemed to have any flavor. I'd be surprised if they stay open through the end of the year for how slow they were. Quite sad considering this used to be a great hole in wall Mexican food place. I have lived in Lincoln for 11+ years and have been coming to this restaurant just as long, such a shame to see them go downhill read more

I have visited this location several times. I like the carne asada nachos. It is a very big serving that I cannot finish by myself. They have $2 tacos on Taco Tuesday. The tacos are also good. It is definitely a good amount of food for a good price. And very close to home for me. read more

Usually our go to spot for years. Went there for dinner tonight and not only have the portions gotten smaller but I got the bill and it was way more then listed on the menu.. for example I ordered the nachos and it said 6.99 and was charged about 10 dollars. Went their today for lunch. Ordered a dinner number 8 chimichanga and a taco. Price listed on menu was roughly $11. I asked for carnitas meat in the chimichanga. I believe that was an upgrade to the beef or chicken but according to the pictures of the menu that wasn't even an upgrade. She totaled my bill and it was over $17. She charged me for 2 spoons full of guacamole that again according to their own menu is included. $6 meat and guacamole upgrade seems a little excessive to me. This place is awesome!! Id have to say, the best mexican in Lincoln! Reminds me of a place in Rocklin my parents took me when I was a kid. My husband and I have eaten here 3-4 times, once in the restaurant, and the others to-go, and we have never been disappointed! Im only sad that I lived here for almost a year before finding it. Its hard to tell from the front how good it actually is. And how reasonable the prices are!!! We usually get the combo plates, the tacos are sooo good! and the tostada was awesome!! Good authentic Mexican food at a very reasonable price. We wouldn't mind eating here every week. Phone orders are usually ready in 10 minutes so we just take out. However, seating in the restaurant is ample, place is clean, and the decor is colorful yet simple. Priced at just $5.50 the gi-normous super burrito comes loaded with fixings and more than satisfies my gargantuan appetite. Generous helping of homemade chips and some homemade salsa come free with orders. Enchiladas are tasty, too. The carnitas meat in the burrito is yummy. Too bad we can't say the same about the carnitas platter...big chunks of dry, not-so-tasty meat. read more

Had lunch here today with a friend who is a life long Lincolnite, she picked it. I liked the chips; homemade or not, they were not greasy. Can't stand greasy chips at a Mexican restaurant! They were served with a red sauce & fresh pico de gallo, which was great! The waiter was friendly, knows my friend who eats there regularly, he knew & greeted most of the people that came in to eat. Everyone felt welcomed. Had a chicken taco & burrito, both were great. We stayed a while after eating, we didn't feel like we were overstaying our welcome. Stopped by to pick up lunch today for take out. Wanted to try their Chili Verde as this is a favorite of mine. I found it to be very tasty! Not very spicy, but still very good. My only complaint would be that the place is pretty plain and makes me wonder if it is clean because it doesn't look well maintained... Holes in ceiling, etc. This is my second visit. Had a Burrito last time and it was good too. I was served by the same young man both times and he was very polite. Good family run, small place. read more
