This is a unique plumbing supply business that not only has a store front but provides installation as well. If you don't know what you want or need a replacement fixture, this is the place to go. The showroom is well stock and John, who very low key is a walking encyclopedia on plumbing fixtures. If you can't find the fixture in the store, he'll find it on his computer for you, order it and calls you when it comes in for pick up. I found the pricing reasonable. Art , The President of the business handles installation in a very updated way, By Text. In my case, the kitchen faucet arrived by noon the next day, sent him a picture of the work site, he texted me a price for the installation, I accepted, and the faucet was installed in my kitchen in less than 24 hours from receipt. Our guest toilet was constantly filling the bowl with water, which meant the flapper wasn't holding the water in the reservoir. I've fixed these myself before, but this current toilet is "special" and I couldn't service it directly. The Power Room was incredible. John -- in the store, he quickly helped me identify the toilet model I had, the parts inside, and provided instruction on how the pieces fit together. Art -- the new owner was super easy to work with, sent texts on the iPhone with estimates and line item costs. Not only that, he got us schedule very quickly. Chris -- the guy who came on site hit some snags while trying to install the new parts, did some thinking, did some research, and found a way to get the new parts to fit smoothly. He tested it and did a demo for us at which point we found related problem requiring him to more time. He was pleasant, easy to work with and kept saying, "I'm here to make this work. After we had a new shower fixture installed by a plumber, we had to find someone to repair the tile that had to be removed. 4 different tile installers said the job was too small. I called The Powder Room and John referred me to the owner, Art. After sending a few pictures, Art assigned one of his tile installers. We could not be more happy with the results! The tile installer, Willy, was courteous, friendly, and kept the area clean through the work. The work is absolutely PERFECT! You cannot even tell there were replacement tiles put in. Good COVID protocol. Needed to order a Toto toilet that was compatible with a Toto Seat. They looked up our model # and gave us options. We purchased it, paid to have it installed (~$250) only to find out that when we too the seat of the box it didn't fit. We then had to have the toilet pulled, re-boxed, and taken back. We ordered a compatible model, picked it up and had to pay another $250 for install. They took no resposibility for the mistake and refused to offer any compensation. We needed a new wax seal ring and even made us pay $10 for it.... (2x higher than ACE). I would have rated them 4-5 stars if we didn't have these problems. My point is that the ultimate measure of service is how a business will respond to problems caused by them to their customers. A real insult and a great disappointment.... read more

We went to Powder Room on Monday afternoon 30 minutes before closing time. The old man didn't seem to welcome me and my kids. His tone and physical gestures implied that me and my kids shouldn't come this late. Nevertheless, I tried to behave and talked to him nicely to let him know that I was a serious buyer. He did treated us nicer after I asked him for help. Overall, I would say I didn't feel like I was getting proper treatment from him. Maybe he had a bad day or maybe he wanted to claim his right to refuse service to any person for any reason. I told him that my husband and I would come back the next day to make the final decision. I bought all the plumbing needs from here for my kitchen remodeling some years ago. Everyone there is very knowledgeable and help you make selections! I bought things online for my next project based on my contractor's recommendation and I regretted. The photos don't quite tell you everything, like slight color difference or overall feeling, and since I'm not an expert, it is hard to decide among overwhelming number of items. After wasting so many hours choosing faucets, shower heads and sinks, I am not quite happy with my decisions made through online purchasing. So for my current project, I am back to the Powder Room! The Powder Room occupies a small corner space on N Santa Cruz Avenue, across Roberts Rd from the DMV. It is 2 short blocks from the larger and more forbidding Los Gatos Plumbing Supply showroom. I was looking for a solution to a problem that I had with it taking minutes for hot water from my heater to arrive at some of my faucets. I was wasting many gallons of water just to get hot water for my sink and dishwasher. I assumed that I would need an auxiliary, under sink, water heater installed. Instead, the saleswoman at The Powder Room recommended a hot water circulation pump, and a patented "comfort valve". I incorrectly assumed that I would need to install a hot water return line, but this system uses the existing cold water line, obviating the need for extensive plumbing work. The folks who own the showroom also own Thornes Plumbing. Tom Thorne does installations for fixtures purchased at the store. We bought the pump and made an appointment for installation. Tom arrived at the exact time scheduled, and he quickly and neatly installed the pump and valve. The solution works great, and I am very pleased with the knowledge and service from The Powder Room. The Powder Room set a new high in customer satisfaction in my book. I bought a cartridge to fix a leaky Grohe faucet but ran into problems trying to take the faulty cartridge out. I took the entire assembly out and went back to the store to see if I could get a new assembly instead. John looked at the part and told me to wait. He quickly ran across the street and asked one of the car mechanics to help. John came back a few minutes later with the faulty cartridge removed. He then replaced it with the new cartridge I bought a few days ago. Problem fixed without additional cost. In my book this is customer satisfaction at the highest level and is hard to come by. I simply love this place. I have shopped around for a few years trying to locate a place that had great Customer Service and either knowledge about the products or the ability to get me the information needed. They are able to provide the materials when they say they can get them. I feel very confident that I will get results every time I bring in a Customer to select Plumbing materials or compare the pro's and con's of the different materials and manufacturers. I tell my Customers that we need to go to the Powder Room and talk to "the experts" about their Plumbing selections. I have had numerous bad experiences with other plumbing places, misinformed me of the shipping time line, didn't receive the order complete, didn't place the order the first time, didn't know about how to fix issues, wasn't helpful when I need answers or just plain rude. This in the end makes me look bad and unfortunately my customers start to second guess what I commit to them. As A General Contractor I rely on suppliers to get me the materials when they state they can get them so that I can produce results and stay on time for my Customers. My wife wanted me to write this review on her behalf ... over the past couple of years, we've been to many different home renovation/specialty boutiques up-and-down the peninsula for various home projects. However, she loves this place! A little while back, she purchased a shower head, shower trim kit, and tub stopper - only to find out that our contractor had purchased a similar set a month before! Upon returning the items to the store, the owner was very gracious and understanding - accepting the return with zero problem. I had water leaking from my upstairs shower through the downstairs ceiling. I called another plumbing company that came out for a service call and gave me an estimate of $800-1100 to open the wall and replace the entire shower plumbing assembly. That didn't seem right to me. They have a beautiful show room, and Kathy was very helpful while we were looking at things. We decided on 3 possible faucets and asked for quotes with whatever discounts they could offer. They quoted us a Moen faucet for ~$335, which was already higher than the local Pacific Sales. We really wanted to support the small company, though, so were willing to pay a bit more. However, when we called back to confirm and purchase, the price went up to $372. We told them about the quote and even gave them the quote number. They didn't even bother to look it up. They dismissed it and stuck with the higher price. We can order the darn thing online for $310. I wouldn't shop there again.
