This is the second time I asked for Patty's help to design our kitchen remodel. We like the kitchen Patty designed for us in our previous house: beautiful, functional and simplistic. When we moved to our current home, we encountered several challenges with the original kitchen cabinets and drawers, upon which we further appreciated the seemingly small details that Patty put in that makes your everyday life so much easier: deep enough drawers, convenient back row access, and functional ways of managing blind corners. We are so lucky to have met Lizl at Signature Kitchen and Bath! We were complete newbies but we had a very specific design that we were seeking. One of those things was changing from a 30 inch gas range to a 36 inch gas cooktop and 30 inch electric wall oven underneath. This is not typically recommended, as there are a lot of failpoints and the cabinet measurements need to be extremely precise. Lizl was able to guide us on who to work with to ensure that there was compatibility to get this done the way we wanted. She introduced us to our contractor Jaime Ambriz (AJ Home Remodeling, highly recommended!). We ended up using his services for the rest of our home remodel and we would never have met him without Lizl's recommendation! We also had an issue with our kitchen cabinet doors mismatching in color due to the natural manufacturing process. Lizl agreed with us that it did not look right because it was outside the normal color variance of the wood, so she worked with the vendor to manufacture new cabinet doors for us. It looks so much better now and gives us the calming look of the kitchen that we desired! We also want to thank Curt for supporting Lizl on the kitchen design that we wanted, and for double checking all of the measurements to make sure everything worked together. We did our kitchen remodel with Signature Kitchen and Bath in 2024. We are so grateful to Lizl Pienaar who helped every step of the way, and without whom this difficult kitchen project could not have gone so smoothly! We had two major constraints: (1) we had a tight timeline, because I was pregnant and already in my third trimester and we decided last minute we really wanted to get this done before the baby, and (2) we wanted the new kitchen to fit exactly in the footprint of the old one, because we did not want to disturb the hardwood flooring. Lizl was essential to the success of this project every step of the way: - She helped us design the new kitchen. She showed us different options for cabinetry. She called out mistakes we wouldn't have otherwise noticed (e.g. do doors and drawers have enough clearance to open). She made suggestions without being pushy. She showed us examples. - We wanted a light color kitchen to feel more sunlight. Lizl cautioned us about potential staining and cleaning difficulties to help us make an informed decision, and we ultimately did go for the white color. We also wanted it to be part blue, but were not sure about it. Lizl made several mock up designs to show us what it would look like - all blue, all white, half blue, the other half blue, etc. We felt a lot more confident in that decision. Then, we liked a special shade of blue, which wasn't available: Lizl helped us get a custom color ordered. - She also helped us reduce the cost. We wanted the highest quality materials on everything, but the cost would have been too much. Lizl helped identify which areas were best to spend on, and which were not, helping us significantly reduce the cost. - The kitchen design itself took a lot of attention to detail on Lizl's part. She took numerous measurements of our existing kitchen's footprint on the hardwood, double checked details, and made it work with the cabinetry options available. To ensure the success of this project, Lizl came over many times to meet with our contractors (pretty much "on call") whenever they had questions. She is very nice and approachable, and our contractors felt comfortable asking questions whenever they had doubts. This was essential to getting the kitchen done in time, because installation mistakes would have taken a lot longer to repair. - One of the cabinet doors came in with a small paint imperfection. Lizl made sure to quickly order a new one. We are extremely pleased with the results, the kitchen is the nicest room in our house right now. We are also glad we made this last minute effort to do the remodel before our baby's arrival. I have a house in Eureka, California, that I am upgrading the kitchen for when I retire next year. For obvious reasons, I am buying the cabinets up in Eureka but had not chosen the color. After 35 years we decide it was time to refresh our South Los Altos kitchen and the "original" 60 year old master bath. After visiting many South Bay kitchen and bath shops, we chose to work with Patty and her team at Signature Kitchen and Bath Design. At the onset of the project, we made it clear that we wanted a refresh and not a "blow out the walls" remodel. Patty agreed to work within those guidelines and provide a design with minimal layout changes. It is a pleasure to be writing this review for Signature Kitchen & Bath Design. We worked with Patty & Curt for the kitchen for our new home and must say that of all the activity required for building a new home, we found the Kitchen Design with Signature Kitchen to be the best. We found Signature through Yelp and were impressed enough by reviews to shortlist it for consideration. By then we had talked to multiple Kitchen Cabinetry designers, but the engagement and interaction from Patty & Curt was at a whole new level. Patty was incredibly helpful and detail oriented. She spent a lot of time with us to understand our requirements. She provided guidance on everything from Kitchen layout to cabinet and countertop material selection. She helped us strike the right balance with selections that let us get our dream kitchen at the price point we had in mind. We went with Omega brand Cabinetry and found the right color selections that gave us the look we wanted. Patty patiently spent many hours with us explaining the pros and cons of different layouts. We were working on this during the peak of the Covid crisis but never felt like the experience was compromised in any way. We were able to visit the store for selections and also spent many hours on video conferences as the design was finalized. Patty was incredibly meticulous and came on site multiple times for dimensions and also for ensuring that the installation by our contractor was being done to design. She ensured that the factory delivered on time (in spite of the industry being hit by covid logistic challenges) and was exactly what was needed. Beyond installation, she continued to be very responsive, ensuring that we were able to perfectly match paint shades for the remaining crown moldings in the kitchen. I did a renovation for all 3 of our bathroom about 9 months ago. We came in and work with Bridgette who was totally awesome. She gave us some good advises and also took the time to show us many different styles of cabinets that they had to offer. All through our ordering process, Bridgette was very responsive in answering any additional questions or concerns that I had. The day that we received our cabinets, Bridgette show up at my house to make sure that everything was delivered and checked out. During the installation process, I notice that there was an imperfection with some of the cabinet panels so I contacted Bridgette about it. She was very helpful in finding out which panels needed to be replace and place a new order to get it for me ASAP. 7 months down the road, my wife saw another panel that had some imperfection so I reached out to Bridgette and sent her some pictures of the panel. Once more, Bridgette's response was very pleasant and with no hesitation she place an order for a new panel right way. I was so happy with the customer service with this place that I even recommended Signature Kitchen & Bath Design to my neighbor which whom he also purchase his bathroom cabinets from. Not necessarily the cheapest, but I wasn't looking for cheap. I wanted to get help designing my cabinets because I knew if I tried to do it on my own, I'd forget some important detail somewhere and wind up with worthless cabinets on my hands, and it would be entirely my own fault. My laundry room is just barely large enough to accommodate the washing machine / dryer, new cabinets & farmhouse-style sink. In addition, we needed to make sure we didn't impede the function of the entry door in any way. So there was a lot to consider, and I didn't want to try to do it all alone. I ended up working with Tammy, who I think was relatively new to Signature K&B at the time (back in 2019). She came out to the house, took measurements, and then between the two of us, we came up with something that works really well. It wasn't a particularly big job, but her help was invaluable to me. Totally worth the extra $. The only suggestion I can offer is that it might be a good idea to just make sure you run any customization options by your contractor before agreeing to them. It seems obvious now, but at the time, it wasn't to me. In my case, Tammy suggested a specific type of cabinet and then told me to have my contractor custom cut it to fit the farmhouse-style sink. It sounded like no big deal, so I went ahead and ordered the cabinets. However, when the cabinets showed up, and I told the contractor that we were going to cut them to accommodate the sink, he wasn't very happy about it. His response was that they were clearly very expensive cabinets, and if he made any kind of mistake, it was his ass on the line. For a minute or two, I actually thought he might refuse to do it. Ultimately, though, he agreed to do the work and it wound up being fine. However, in retrospect, I should've consulted him beforehand. read more

Tammy was our kitchen designer. She was recommended to us by a family member. Tammy was wonderful to work with and she really listened to our vision and needs. The design was perfect and the kitchen is beautiful! One thing I really appreciated is Tammy worked with us from the design, cabinet order, delivery and installation. She checked in with the contractor (Sean P) from start to finish to make sure everything went smoothly, which it did. We had a few small issues with the painted Omega cabinets and Curt, the owner of Signature Kitchen, solved the problem quickly. He did everything he could to make sure we were satisfied.
