This club is probably one of the worst locations ever. The workers are rude and disrespectful especially the girl that scans codes. The venue itself is straight up dance club!!! The whole joint is a dance floor.. limited seating.. small restrooms.. JUST DANCE!! right off bat you walk up get ya cards checked because its 21+ right? Alright then you walk in and two the left you are gonna pay ya $5 before 10, but after 10 you paying $10 *btw they have their own parking lot with valet for $10 before 10, when i left it had gone up to $15 but idk when that change was* in that same room that you pay you look over to the right and you have the restrooms and you look to your left and you see the win eopen dance floor. take a picture and just imagine that floor filled. actually wait for that clock to strike 10 and trust you won't even see the floor LOL. They have limited seating in here but you aren't going to need a seat TRUST! I was there for 4 hours and saw ONE person sitting... in 4 HOURS i only saw one person sitting!!! I had a few drinks and tbh they are a little expensive for what I got a shot of jameson cost me $12!!!!! YOOOOOOOOOO BIH WHERE!?!?!?!? ANYWAYS! I came here for THE FLOOR IMPROV NIGHT!! and lets just say it was LIT AF!!! I thought I was a good dancer til I walked in that night, haha seriously! It is the third Monday of every month and it is a night where you have musicians and dancers coming together to create and just be in harmony. They don't play the 2000 hits you want for the 2000s night trust me, they played 2010 songs. The DJ doesn't do anything actually & lets every song fully play out even when it's obvious that no one is vibing to the song. The bartender charged me & a friend almost 40$ for 2 shots that weren't even half full because we didn't tip (he told us that's why he didn't fill it up). Trust me he did not deserve a tip. Came here for the first time last night with some friends and will be the LAST time. What a complete S*** show that management has running here. Paid $10 to get into a club to be here for only an hour, only to be pushed out because they had hit max capacity. When we first got there we were on the first floor. We left the first floor to go to the second floor where we stayed there for about 20 minutes. Headed back down the stairs where we were then stuck in the stairwell for 20+ minutes because the bouncers said they hit hit capacity on both floors. People in the stairwell were yelling, screaming, pushing, a few having complete panic attacks because they bouncer wouldn't let us leave or clear a path for an exit all the while letting people to continue to move up the stairs to nowhere. At one point a girl tried to get behind the bouncer to get into the first floor room, (she was screaming that she was trying to leave the facility , our group was planning on leaving also) and the tall white grey haired bouncer picked her up and threw her back against the wall, knocking other people waiting on the stairs back. Finally a bouncer from the top came down and cleared a path where we were able to be pushed down to the smoking/patio area outside. It was at that point we had no choice to leave, because there was no where else for us to go since they hit capacity on both floors. God forbid a fight broke out on the stair well or there was fire. This is a terribly ran place, and I hope management makes changes before anyone gets hurt. read more

I normally have an amazing time every club 90s night, but last night was a different event celebrating Rihanna's birthday. We RSVP'd on facebook for free entry (as it said to do), but when we got there we were told we had to pay 10 bucks because we didn't do it on an eventbrite (which is ridiculous and the facebook description did not mention that at all), so that was the first setback. We paid anyways, because a night in honor of Rihanna should be worth it. But the joke's on us, because they played Rihanna maybe about... 5% of the time? Why host a Rihanna themed event in honor of her birthday and barely play her? I think I heard Sean Paul more. We even had more friends join us later in the night and for the half hour they were here, they actually didn't even play her at all! Which was crazy because the DJ kept shouting "RIH RIH" over and over again. And the DJ shouted a lot, that was another thing. He loved the sound of his own voice. And besides Rihanna, I think the only other women we heard on some songs were Beyonce and Nicki Minaj, barely. It was a playlist full of male dance hall music, on a night honoring the birthday of one of the most empowering women making music? ... What? My advice? Proceed with caution on a themed night when it's not hosted by club 90s. And play Rihanna on Rihanna night. Didn't think I had to spell that out for you! read more

This place is highly overpriced!! The $10 cover fee is $10 too much. The drinks are incredibly expensive and tiny!! Once I saw that person at the bar ahead of me pay almost $30 for two drinks that came in a cup the size that are given on an airplane, my jaw dropped. I ended just getting water. I refuse to pay that much for drinks that weren't even appealing. I went for "throwback Latin night" and was disappointed. The dj played a few throwback songs but not enough to call it a "throwback Latin night". Since the place allows the customers have their drinks on the dance floor, the place was littered with cups and a bit slippery from the spilled drinks and melted ice. This place does get packed esp during special holidays (i.e: halloween, NYE) . Place can be fun but it tends to get hot inside and people can get weird (my review only applies for after hour club). I gave this place a 2 star due to it dirty, bartenders overcharge on water and other beverages. Went to Los Globes last night for the throwback R&B and Hip hop night and it was, meh. -The DJ was more like a kid playing music from his iPod of what he thinks 1990-2007 Hip hop and R&B would be. (We listened to WHOLE songs, no mixing.) -A shot of Hennessy was $14. -The dance floor was nice and there was enough seating to take a break. Came here to see my boyfriend perform upstairs. The venue was easy to find, spacious, well ventilated, and had a wonderful music system. The lighting was great and the drinks were poured well. What an amazing place! Tonight alone I saw a fantastic multi-range Hispanic rock band AND a singer-songwriter-keyboardist who is a star in Turkey. And those were just the first two acts. The way to do Los Globos is to go on a night where you wouldn't expect to end up there, which for mostly everyone is every night, as it's not exactly a hot destination for Angelenos on the prowl for a lively night out on the town. However, the two times I've ended up there for no other reason than passing by and shrugging our shoulders and saying "eh, why not?" I've rather enjoyed myself. The first time my boy DJ LA Muerte was spinning some fine mashups with a light parade show in the background (don't ask) and myself "white girl 1" and my friend "white girl 2" were shimmying up the dancefloor while being stared down by all the wall flowers waiting for the Latino night to begin. Though for some reason we had a damn fine time regardless of the hardcore stare downs. This past Sunday we stopped in and the door guy let us in without paying the $10 cover, probably because we didn't look like the regular clientele and he figured it would at least be entertaining for him to see our reaction to the crowd and the music. We showed him. We walked in like we owned the place, which was not encouraging for the crowd...pretty sure I was almost knocked out on 3 different occasions for accidentally bumping into others. The mostly Latin beats had us moving our hips like they've never moved before but this time the aggressive "why are you here?" looks and shoves were more annoying than the prospect of continuing our fun so we bounced...right into the bouncer who quickly reminded us that we should come prepared to pay the cover the next time. Los Globos is a dance hall/bar located right in the heart of the peaceful city of Silver Lake. I came here for the first tie last night for the re-opening of Das Bunker Star Wars Night. This event is a yearly fun filled Star Wars costume themed event which provides for a lot of fun, dancing and boozing, if you are one that is into that sort of thing! There are 3 rooms, two of which are located upstairs. The main room, which is the biggest, is where the majority of those in attendance were at. The dance floor is quite big in the main room. The other two rooms are quite smaller in size with their dance floor being shorter in size as well. The décor was a Star Wars theme all around with a dark kicking vibe to go along with it. The music for this event was a mixture of goth/industrial, techno, synthpop, psychedelic trance, electronica and such. The only bad thing about this venue is their stairs which lead you to one of their other dance rooms and patio outdoors. The stairs are not exactly up to current safety codes, due to the fact that they are very small in size, as people were struggling and waiting for others to either come up or go down the stairs. It is very easy to trip and lose your footing if there is a stampede of people waiting! As far as the prices of the drinks go, I do not exactly know that, due to the fact that I went with the intention of staying sober. The only thing I did purchase however that was overpriced was a bottle of water. For two regular sized bottles, I paid $10! No way! Not cool at all. They do have a parking area right by the side which was charging $10. I figured I'd rather pay that than to struggle looking for parking in the neighboring streets, which turned out to be difficult considering parking is quite scarce. Overall, the Das Bunker event was amazing. Das Bunker will most likely be doing all their events at this new location. Costumes everywhere with such an amazing vibe and décor to go with it. Oh yeah, there are food vendors outside selling hot dogs and such in case one has that food craving afterwards! I am a fan and will be returning for the Covenant show on July 4th! My friend and my initial reaction to this place : "this place is low key ghetto" Don't get me wrong, we had fun that night. The bartenders were nice. We came for a club 90's night. It's in a pretty scuzzy area and we parked a little further up the street because it's $20 to park in their parking lot, yeah not happening. What ticked us both off is that we when we came in, this guy and girl on the stairs asked us what event we we were there for, we told them club 90's and she took our $10 and told us to go upstairs. We went, thinking that was where the club 90's event was. No upstairs was something else that was pretty empty and smelly, we made our way down to where the 90's music was coming from and the guy tried charging us again to go in. We explained to him that the other two people took our money knowing we were there for club 90's. He told us to go get our money back, as soon as we confronted her, she said "no refunds". Wtf ? Then we confronted the guy that was with her and he had us enter the club 90's dance floor through a back door. Ok why the hell was that necessary ? If no one is going to your shit event upstairs don't trick people into going by lying to them. That was the only problem we had with this venue. We haven't decided if we'll come back to club 90s events here again, maybe when they do them at another venue. Also the white wine and sangria cocktail was horrible af, not worth your $8, don't do it ! TL; DR ?: A bit shady. read more

No matter what you explain about the jeopardized safety of your friend, who is visiting from another state and doesn't know the area, their state of intoxication, their inability to secure transpiration without your assistance, etc, the hosts of Club 90s Clueless Night at Los Globos will deny you re-entry if you step 5 feet outside their door unless you pay them an additional $10 to get back in. And if you protest- They will have their hired security team escort you out, and formally prohibit you from participating in the event you paid $10 to experience. I guess Los Globos supports this type of treatment toward women who support and patronize their establishment but try to safeguard the well being of their friends in the process. This was my first time at Los Globos, and Club 90's, both which I've been eager to experience for some time. And tonight, I decided to take my friend with me for the first time to show her how awesome LA is. When I told the woman who refused me re-entry that it was my first time at the venue and after this experience, I would never return, her response was, "Good, I hope you never do." Half of the peepz in here are currently taking some English Sin Barreras courses. Not to hate on them, but if your Spanish is no good, then most likely you won't be able to have a good conversation after ur finished dancing. However, if ur non-Latina, you will get a lot of attention. I saw a group of sisters and some white girls get more attention here than they would in any other club :P. Pros: - Drinks are cheap! I had my friends take me here and they were well familiar with the bartenders. Apparently, if u tip good you can get hooked up really well. Two coronas for 7 bucks; 3 shots of tequila for 12; expect half the prices from your local clubs. Most drinks do not go pass 7 bucks, which is a steal in LA. - Music, music, music - mas musica! I came here on a Sunday night for a couple hours and I heard nothing but good bachata, salsa, reggaeton, and top 40's. - Cover charge and parking fee are cheap. 10 bucks to get in and 5 bucks to park ur car, even though there are tons of street parking available. - The ladies are a lot better than I expected. Regardless if their chuntis or not, they can dance and are not hoochies as I thought they were. Cons: - This place reminds me of clubs back in Mexico/Central America. The place is ghettolicious! I'm no supermodel or even half of that, but i can tell when someone does not pay much attention to his clothes or the way they carry themselves. I saw a few guys that looked like they could use a clean shirt. Again, don't want to diss all the guys b/c there were a lot of stylish dudes there. - Dance floor is super small. There are more tables in here that I see as useless. Get rid of half of them and the place eliminates all the peepz standing around. - I danced with two girls that were good dancers, but dang...put some deodorant please! It was hard to get near them because it smelled so much like sobaco! I feel sorry when they get back to their husbands, oh yeah, these girls were married - wtf?! So yeah, if ur like me who has been passing by this spot for so many years and hasn't had the courage to go in, then I would suggest to just keep passing by, unless you want some cheap drinks and good music. We went here to see a local band we love. After letting the band bring all of their equipment upstairs they realized that they had double booked the event. Instead of letting the band who was supposed to headline play late or anything they told them to leave. The band got a last minute spot at the Silverlake Lounge down the street so as me and my friends were leaving a guy came out and asked us if we had a good time. My friend's girlfriend gives a thumb down. The guy starts yelling at her about how that's disrespectful and that he does all this hard work to make sure people have a good time. We try to explain our situation to him, but he's too busy just yelling at her. This girl is 100 pounds soaking wet so obviously we get in between the manager/promoter guy and her. He continues to yell at all of us about his gun and that he doesn't give a shit about us until we get signed by a record company. We aren't even a band. Then he went on to tell us that he works with bands like Nickelback and Filter. So yeah, if you want to go to a place where the band you want to see gets canceled, guys who think Nickelback are brag-worthy threaten little girls, then this is your place. Also, the bouncer flat out told us that he hassles white kids for "reparations." At the time I thought he was kidding, but as the night progressed I saw that he was totally serious.
