I haven't set foot in here in well over a decade and wow does it feel almost exactly the same, from the date wood paneling to the lavish booths along the wall to the $9 sodas, $12 beers, $17+ cocktails and pre-made hot dogs. Popped in for two events that were both fun and went well. The Mr. Los Angeles Leather contest during LA Leather pride week conclude here and the lighting, sound and set up for the event was great. This was followed by a dance party that got pretty full. Very accomodating space, very lgbtq+ friendly. I had one beverage the entire time I was here. I couldn't justify having a second $17.50 vodka soda w/ tip for a $20 drink... Sir, them or ma'am this is outrageous... And I'm not talking about the 2003 Britney (Spears) track that was remixed during the night #DJofDjs While Los Globos is one of the oldest nightclubs (currently painted all black on the outside) in Greater Los Angeles, located off Sunset, just before the Silver Lake Blvd/Sunset Blvd interaction, a beat down... It's done little to make itself fresh or renovate. That said they have a stellar downstairs patio, tons of restrooms (even downstairs), solid security, personable staff, great djs an a cool system. I agree it's a good place to check out for special events, but not so much for beverages or eats. Parking is a journey (they do have valet, but as you can imagine it's not exactly complimentary) - you can get lucky with street if you arrive a lot earlier than event start times, loads of walkable places open to eat before 9:30 pm. I would come back for the special events I attend and select others, but would absolutely plan ahead. I completely spaced on why I haven't frequented this Silver Lake rough around and inside the edges spot. They do have other areas including an upstair loft/club, but this always has a line and is at capacity on their busy nights (Thursday through Saturday). read more

0/5 Stay Far Away There was a massive leak from the ceiling that looked like it was coming from the upstairs bathroom. I pointed it out to a manager because there were visible cracks and water pouring down. He said maintenance had been called and assured me the ceiling "definitely wouldn't collapse," which was not reassuring at all. Downstairs was disgusting. There was vomit all over the floor, and when I told security, he just nodded. I reminded him that it was biohazardous, and he said he would tell the barback. Thirty minutes later it was still there. To make matters worse, the lines outside were completely chaotic. We waited in the wrong line for an hour after security told us it was correct, only to find out later it wasn't. The event host gave no clear directions, and multiple events were happening on the same night, making the entire experience frustrating and disorganized. I do not recommend this bar for anything. Parking: 34.08386° N, 118.27459° W I parked on N Vendome St, on the side of the venue and arrived about an hour early and was lucky enough to snag a spot, but my sisters parked in the parking lot just west of the venue and didn't have to pay anything. Getting here was an interesting drive. I exited Rampart and went all the way up to Sunset and made a left turn on Vendome. Making a left on Sunset during rush hour is stressful so if you can take side streets up I'd recommend it. FIrst time at Los Globos was on Tuesday, March 4th and it was for The Moth Podcast event. Honestly, with all the lights on, she's kind of boring, but I know this place held so many club events and concerts back in the day so it has my respect. The bathrooms are down stairs in the basement and the walls are covered with flyers which makes me think two things: hella cool and how many people have drunkenly fallen down these steep stairs and injured themselves? Glad to report the restrooms were CLEAN! The venue itself isn't the smallest venue I've been in, but it definitely isn't big. It was enough for the Moth Podcast and we sat in the booth towards the back left and had a fine time. I definitely need to come back when its functioning as a club and try their best damn tacos on the patio. The night I went, they were selling slices of Costco pizza which is not the same. read more

Went to the Rhonda party at Los Globos and it was such a good time. Music was on point, the crowd was fun, and Cobrah showing up was a nice surprise. My partner and I attended Cobrah's Gagball here and it was a complete disaster. While the show itself was fine, the venue and staff left something to be desired. For starters there was only two stalls in the upstairs bathroom and three in the downstairs one, one upstairs was completely broken and one downstairs was so clogged there was several inches of water on the floor. The staff told us not to go downstairs and told us we were not allowed to go downstairs despite the fact that Cobrah was playing there (the person we all paid to see) a fact that was never shared with attendees, we had to find out from each other through word of mouth. Security was extremely rude the entire night, even to other staff members for the event. The security team was not well informed as to what was going on event wise and it showed in the poor communication. We had no food here as none was being sold (and let's face it, it would have been horribly expensive). Drinks were also very expensive, but that's LA for you. I would not recommend this location to anyone. read more

While I was waiting in line, I stood next to a pottery studio, or was it drawing? No I think it was a pottery studio. It was late at night and a few people were working on their art. I could see them focused on their vases and such. They did not look up. They probably were used to being looked upon that they ignored it. They were not dolphins in a an aquarium performing for bored line waiters. It would have been nice to look up from time to time, and smile. But yet, I respect that they were trying to find a moment of zen amidst their clay and hands. It is funny because we were all trying to escape to a good time, some made vases out of clay and others aimed to bump and grind to loud music. Another example that truly showcases that their are strokes for different folks. The club itself pops. I remember going there one Halloween night. And it being a true halloween party attendant by the modest of LA. The reason why I say that is because I have been there a few times, and I never really see the bar, busy like that. In fact last time I went, the bar was completely empty. I had some water in a cup. I did not pay for a bottle. Come on now! I asked the bartender "Do you think that people do not buy drinks because they were young or broke?" He reflected for a second and said both. So the crowd here like I said is young. I did witness a party. The dance floor was full--- at different times I went. If you go there on a Saturday night then the place will pop. If you go, like on Sunday, when the next they there is no work or school, then you will see less but more than other bars and dance floors. Oh as I waiting in line the hot dog vendor had a nice looking speaker and she blasted reggeton. The party hit on the street thanks to their meaningful addition to the night. If you expect boogie drinks, the gliterrari of Hollywood or the LA hit, don't. Go somewhere else. But if you are looking to party freely with those that belong to the graffitied streets then this place waits. And when I say belongs to the street, I mean they belong to fun, earthy and evolving site of LA, not the polished, glamorous or manicured sites of LA. read more

I've came here with friends twice. It's a spacious multistory venue with some bars and dance floors! Both nights I came the concerts were vey fun with very different artists and crowds in attendance. My friends and I came here most recently for my friends show. While we were hanging out til it was our friends' turn to perform we got some drinks. They drinks are the reason why I can't give this place 5 stars. If I'm paying $15 each for a cocktail I'd like the cup to be filled especially if it's already only an 8oz cup. The drink was pretty mid and really turned me off from wanting to order any more $15 cups for just a few sips worth of poorly crafted cocktails. The performers and DJ's here are great and have put on a great show for both times I've came, I just think I'd try drinking at other places prior to coming here for more drinks. read more

I went here for the ACCR after party for Romy and it was paaaaaaaacked! I appreciate the venue and how it had multiple different floors, but OMG -- once Romy was on it, it was so hot and congested. Good luck moving anywhere. Overall, this place is pretty big and special in LA. I used to come here back in the 2010s for club nights (oh to be young again), and it was funny how I came full circle and ended up back here again after a Los Globos hiatus. I am going to ignore the other reviews here because I think, for the money, and ease of access in general, this is a good place to see up and coming performers in the atmosphere that you would expect in Silverlake for late night music. First off, it is easy to get to, and if you get there earlyish, you will snag street parking. Time it to arrive at 7:45 and the meters are free afterward. Go grab a bite -- there are dozens of places near Los Globos. Then head to the club around 9 when the first of a half dozen acts kicks off. We were there to see Brooke Howard and Night Darling, wonderful rising stars. Night Darling just released their first album -- worth getting, and Brooke is in the process of launching hers. The venue is large and airy. You can get drinks or just nurse sparkling water and lime (as I did) all night. No one pushes anything. There was a check-in at the door, which I personally appreciate. As far as I could tell in the darkened space, it was as clean as it needed to be. The stage, lighting, sound system, and seating (limited) were good, but be prepared to be on your feet most of the night. Leave your bags, purses, wallets in your trunk and just bring your phone. Dress in any outfit that makes you want to dance -- you will see it all here. As someone who did a fair amount of clubbing in the past, I found Los Globos to be standard. If you have lived or spent time in Miami, Rio or the Caribbean, this place is typical of the ones you find literally on every street corner in those places: simple, walk-in casual, lively, and good. You may even hit a night when the acts are great, as we did. That said, why not 5 stars? The second act was absolutely atrocious. The lead singer was literally off-key and swung from guttural to gibbon on every song. It took a long time for everything to get underway and so, for this early riser, the delays only aggravated fatigue (so rest up beforehand, capiche?). The seating/table availability is extremely limited, which meant either standing or sitting most of the time -- not ideal. The sound was fuzzy at times and far too loud. I value my hearing -- next time I will bring earplugs, caveat clubtor. All in all though, I think this is a fun place to let off some post-covid steam and broaden your play list. We will be sure to go back. Meanwhile, keep your eye on Brooke and Night Darling, they will soon be headed to pricier venues. read more

First off, we did rsvp for the event that was supposed to be free and it said free entry before 10:30 for our friend younger than 21 and before 11/11:30 for those of us over 21. When we got to the door they said it didnt matter after 10pm and made us all purchase $30+ tickets. First off the club was dead and it didnt start getting full until 11:30/12 and by than it was so overcrowded everyone was pushing past and you couldn't even dance peacefully also without getting harrassed every 10minutes. SECONDLY THE DRINKS ARE TERRIBLE, overpriced, and watered down so much. We bought 3 drinks and it cost $54. But we got 3 rounds of drinks too hoping the next drink would taste or hit better but they didnt hit at all not even a little buzz. For $18 drinks it was not worth it. Do not go here! read more

We found a post on Eventbrite for the event stating free entry if you arrive before 10:30, which we did, but they weren't letting people in until after 10:30. We waited in line for 2 hours only to be charged 30$ at the door and told us only free entry if we got there before 10:30, which we did, but weren't let in because of closed doors not opening til after 10:30 and a line all the way down the block. After months of patience and kindness, we were never reimbursed our share of ticket sales especially when the difference could've been handled very easily the night of the event. They asked for their share in cash but had the exact amount they were owed on their payment terminal. Basically stolen. It is unfortunate because the staff is super sweet and so helpful. We went here for NYE and the place was pretty well organized. The security was also fairly nice, and when we got patted down at the entrance, they made sure we were told we'd be touched and checked briefly. That night, there was supposed to be early 2000s music playing downstairs and Spanish music upstairs, but the music was about the same in both places. The DJs were good and played crowd-pleasing music, but they didn't do any beat drops or remixes, felt more like a playlist. But the crowd was manageable and fairly kind, there were bathrooms on all floors, and it wasn't bad at all for an 18+ club! Bouncers were overzealous to point that even customers didn't care because why overhype the joint, and have attitude? I mean most of security was nice it's just portrayed rudely, don't kill vibe man! The floor was stickier then a sperm bank, and so forget dancing smoothly. And no alcohol past 2am? I get it but then dry your way to victory I guess?? Always a great time here! I haven't been here for 10 years and came in last night to celebrate a couple friends' birthdays. DJ played a lot of old bangers and kept a good flow for the dance rooms. People all ages are always good to step in and there's no weird vibe inside. Everyone's all a fun time and you'll see a mixed variety of different ethnicities here too which says a lot about the venue! I had such a good time I guess my wallet (Louis V) fell out of my purse. Some angel turned it into the staff. I had awesome help from Tony and Tommy when I frantically went over the next day (had to lock all my cards temporary and had to wait til 10 pm) to check with the security. Thankfully the people who seem to come here have good hearts and were able to turn in my wallet when they found it on the patio. Thanks to the great team here for working on this with me!
