Los Globos. ¡Nos volvemos a encontrar! I haven't set foot in here in well over a decade and wow does it feel almost exactly the same, from the date wood paneling to the lavish booths along the wall to the $9 sodas, $12 beers, $17+ cocktails and pre-made hot dogs. Popped in for two events that were both fun and went well. The Mr. Los Angeles Leather contest during LA Leather pride week conclude here and the lighting, sound and set up for the event was great. This was followed by a dance party that got pretty full. Very accomodating space, very lgbtq+ friendly. I had one beverage the entire time I was here. I couldn't justify having a second $17.50 vodka soda w/ tip for a $20 drink... Sir, them or ma'am this is outrageous... And I'm not talking about the 2003 Britney (Spears) track that was remixed during the night #DJofDjs While Los Globos is one of the oldest nightclubs (currently painted all black on the outside) in Greater Los Angeles, located off Sunset, just before the Silver Lake Blvd/Sunset Blvd interaction, a beat down... It's done little to make itself fresh or renovate. That said they have a stellar downstairs patio, tons of restrooms (even downstairs), solid security, personable staff, great djs an a cool system. I agree it's a good place to check out for special events, but not so much for beverages or eats. Parking is a journey (they do have valet, but as you can imagine it's not exactly complimentary) - you can get lucky with street if you arrive a lot earlier than event start times, loads of walkable places open to eat before 9:30 pm. I would come back for the special events I attend and select others, but would absolutely plan ahead. I completely spaced on why I haven't frequented this Silver Lake rough around and inside the edges spot. They do have other areas including an upstair loft/club, but this always has a line and is at capacity on their busy nights (Thursday through Saturday).

0/5 Stay Far Away There was a massive leak from the ceiling that looked like it was coming from the upstairs bathroom. I pointed it out to a manager because there were visible cracks and water pouring down. He said maintenance had been called and assured me the ceiling "definitely wouldn't collapse," which was not reassuring at all. Downstairs was disgusting. There was vomit all over the floor, and when I told security, he just nodded. I reminded him that it was biohazardous, and he said he would tell the barback. Thirty minutes later it was still there. To make matters worse, the lines outside were completely chaotic. We waited in the wrong line for an hour after security told us it was correct, only to find out later it wasn't. The event host gave no clear directions, and multiple events were happening on the same night, making the entire experience frustrating and disorganized. I do not recommend this bar for anything. It is unsafe, unclean, and poorly managed from top to bottom.

Parking: 34.08386° N, 118.27459° W I parked on N Vendome St, on the side of the venue and arrived about an hour early and was lucky enough to snag a spot, but my sisters parked in the parking lot just west of the venue and didn't have to pay anything. Getting here was an interesting drive. I exited Rampart and went all the way up to Sunset and made a left turn on Vendome. Making a left on Sunset during rush hour is stressful so if you can take side streets up I'd recommend it. FIrst time at Los Globos was on Tuesday, March 4th and it was for The Moth Podcast event. Honestly, with all the lights on, she's kind of boring, but I know this place held so many club events and concerts back in the day so it has my respect. The bathrooms are down stairs in the basement and the walls are covered with flyers which makes me think two things: hella cool and how many people have drunkenly fallen down these steep stairs and injured themselves? Glad to report the restrooms were CLEAN! The venue itself isn't the smallest venue I've been in, but it definitely isn't big. It was enough for the Moth Podcast and we sat in the booth towards the back left and had a fine time. I definitely need to come back when its functioning as a club and try their best damn tacos on the patio. The night I went, they were selling slices of Costco pizza which is not the same.

Lighting and sound are State of art. Also has a visual wall on main stage. If you are watching a live event, there's not a bad area.

I've came here with friends twice. It's a spacious multistory venue with some bars and dance floors! Both nights I came the concerts were vey fun with very different artists and crowds in attendance. My friends and I came here most recently for my friends show. While we were hanging out til it was our friends' turn to perform we got some drinks. They drinks are the reason why I can't give this place 5 stars. If I'm paying $15 each for a cocktail I'd like the cup to be filled especially if it's already only an 8oz cup. The drink was pretty mid and really turned me off from wanting to order any more $15 cups for just a few sips worth of poorly crafted cocktails. The performers and DJ's here are great and have put on a great show for both times I've came, I just think I'd try drinking at other places prior to coming here for more drinks.

If you're a fan of themed music nights, it's definitely worth checking out. A few things could make the experience even better. The seating is all wooden and pretty hard, so it isn't the most comfortable if you're planning to hang out for a while. Also, it was very warm inside. With a packed crowd and a couple of drinks, it got hot fast. I wasn't even dancing, and I was sweating! Turning up the air conditioning would make a huge difference and keep everyone much more comfortable. The drinks were good--not the best I've ever had, but definitely enjoyable. I think with a few tweaks to the cocktails and a cooler atmosphere, this place would be outstanding. One tip for first-time visitors: it's a little tricky to find if you're unfamiliar with the area. The entrance is through the alley, not directly on the main street, and it's only about the second building in. Parking can be a challenge, but that's more about the neighborhood than the venue itself. Overall, I had a really good time, loved the music and atmosphere, and I'd consider coming back. If you're looking for a unique spot with fun themed nights and good vibes, this place is definitely worth a visit.

The restrooms are very well maintained and have the sweetest older lady working. (Make sure yall show her some love) They also have a huge outside patio that is a smoking area. I've never seen any food here only drinks, beer, shots, and water for sale. Overall Echoplex is an awesome venue for concerts.

I tried to ignore it but as I was walking in he just kept giving us such a glare it was un tasteful. I tried to have fun the vibes were ok nothing crazy, I then got thirsty so me and my brother walked to my car to get cold water. On our way back we showed IDs again and security guard started questioning us saying what we're doing why are we coming back so we told him. I thought it was okay at first you know he was doing his job but then I explained we went to just get water and he started saying no re-entry which he didn't imply at first, followed by you can't bring outside drinks in with a mean tone. I then said "Sir, I just said we went to the car to get water I DO NOT have it with me as you can see". He started giving us attitude saying why we're even showing him our ID?? at that point I was annoyed so I said "Just let us in sir we explained ourselves I don't know why this is so complicated". He noticed I got annoyed and started saying "Omg girl I was just joking damn you can't even take a joke why would you show me your ID again I don't want to see it" literally contradicting himself trying to make it seem like he wasn't just being rude. So my brother ended up just telling him "just have a goodnight" and we walked back in, but at that point though I felt so uneasy and just wanted to leave cause he left both of us just feeling weird. Even if he was "joking" please just have a security guard who doesn't "joke" on the clock and leave people with uncertainty, so unprofessional never coming back.

This was the last stop in a night where Conrad and I stepped out to LA to have a good time. So by…read morethe time I got there I was tipsy. I was not falling down the stairs, nor was I slurring my words, nor was I misaligning my pool shots, but I was definetely feeling the good inside my blood. I note this, not to highlight my cool factor as if I was a frat bro in a Florida party school, but more to describe how my experience was fogged by my consumption. This place was definetely a hot spot to hit, but I just will not be able to descrbie everything with speicifc detail, more, broad strokes of a good time. The place is reached by going down a flight of stairs, which feels like one is going to catch the J line in New York. I think I felt this more because of the Spring St sign- a famous stop in NY, NY. As soon, I got there, the goal was to continue the good time and this place allowed that at a reasonable price. They had these can drinks that I really responded and they were only 7 dollars. Ok, I know that saying something is only 7 dollars in this economy can seem out of touch. But a drink in LA most of the time will run you at least 12 to 16 dollars, and I think it is mostly on the 16 side. So finding a 7 dollar drink in a hot spot is refreshing. It was a Suncruiser- a vodka spirit based drink- that was part of their specials for their night. maybe is more expensive on other nights when it is not on special? After the drink Conrand and I stepped into their floor. It was the first time we were there and it is basically a basement game room on whatever it is that Bane takes to make himself go from puny human to muscle-on-muscle-on-muscle villain. There is a lot of pool tables maybe like 5, and I saw ping pong, and other table games. Additionally, instead of a speaker or a recorder- the one's that spin old timey records- there was a band. I took a short video of the band but I could not tell you if this band was good or bad or their name or their style of music. I was partly present, and I just heard the music, I did not appreciate the performers. It happens. So Conrad and I play all the time together. And I saw a guy playing by himself. We quickly introduced oursevles and then we played pool. Here is the thing that I am happy to write about this place. Unline a regular bar with a pool table, where every one knows your name, this place had the opportunity to meet new people. And I enjoyed playing with this guy. He was a new challenge. He had fresh stories. And he offered a view of the world I enjoyed. So this place offers the opportunity to meet new people over a game of pool. If pool is your thing than this place will make you happy an if pool is your way of meeting new folks then this place will make you happy and give you opportunities to find the folks you imagine you need in your life. In the final analysis, I want to go here again, and experience the place more broadly. Not sure if I will write a new Yelp, because even though I bared bone this one, it still gives the primary messages I want to. And to the guy who I played with thanks for having a good time with me, even if it was short. And sometimes, short, can be just enough.

I did Wilco, so I ended up in the alleyway behind the building. It didn't take long for me to go in, and meet up with an individual with a computer who checked me in. They do a short bag check and you're pretty much up the stairs to the left, wear your band might have a merch stand going up. When you walk into the hall, there's a bar in the center of the back of the room. They seem to have everything you could want to make a good drink. The place can fit it as many as 500 people. Staff is very friendly, helpful and assistance. We had to transfer tickets over and it was as simple as a super short, brief explanation to staff/provided the ticket owner's name and it was all good. None of that BS from larger venues or if we had to deal with a QR code or crazy ticketing system. Huge relief. Thank you for being independent! We got VIP wristbands and they also card you for a wrist band if you want to order alcohol since there's a bar in the back. The concert area is upstairs and it's neat that it's historically a masonic lodge too. Neat door like backdrop to the stage and the historic wooden feel to it is nice too. Restrooms are a bit small, so it can get gross after a show, but we went beforehand so no issues for us. Free water throughout and trashcans everywhere too. Love that logistical planning. There's food and apparently an adjacent restaurant, we didn't get a chance to go, but it smelled good when we were leaving. Lights were a bit glaring but was adjusted and changed throughout the concert versus when it was on for sound check, just adjust the lighting settings on your phone. Good acoustics and sound quality, it got a bit warm at times, but not horrible, so AC is quite strong here. Wouldn't mind coming back here for another show!

The outside space is an amazing grassy retreat with a stage, tables and chairs, and a big ol' tree. The crowd was a mix of once rock stars, "hippies" ("burnouts" may be a more accurate descriptor, I suppose, and I'm only referring to their aesthetics and the fact that they were wielding bottles of booze and celebrating the arrival of each of their friends), hipsters, artists and locals. The people/environment was friendly, and it looked like everyone was having a good time checking out the art, drinking wine and beer, smoking cigarettes, listening to music and talking to each other. As far as the art, there was a mix of collage, sketches, and paintings starting at $40, but most above $100 (and way above $100). The space was cleverly curated and there was an easy flow from artist to artist. There's parking in the Barragan's lot (next door) for $5 or street parking. More info on the Under the Sun show I saw: fine art by Louie Metz, Victor Balogh, Jason Krause, Doug Cox, LC Croskey, PJ Risse and Rob Malone. with performance's by Clowns & Fetuses's and Tramp for the Lord
