Went here on Wednesday for lunch with colleagues, delicious! When you pull up from the driveway, the building looks unassuming like a large precarious toolshed, but once you walk up into the patio, you can see the paved tile and the greenery surrounding, making it a great spot for outdoor dining (way better than under a tent in front of a taco truck). The weather happened to be really nice so we opted to dine in the patio seating. I ordered the nachos- they let me split halfies on lengua and asada, and didn't judge me for asking for the nacho cheese on the side. O and J had wet burritos, and T got a torta. All the food was well portioned, they did not skimp on the ingredients at all. You can tell the meat is of much higher quality than Maria's (both locations) and Margarita's. Food had good flavor, always my go to when craving tacos or a burrito. Does get busy around lunch time but they are quick.

The chile relleno plate is my favorite thing here. Its not all greasy like at other places. The chile is nice and cheesy and it comes with beans rice and a little salad with crema and avocado. My wife and I found ourselves (don't ask why) in little Winton, CA this week at lunch time. A friend from Modesto had suggested this little place next to the tire store and the railroad tracks. Truly, this was the most amazing flavor in a burrito (chicken) I'd ever tasted. They served the meal in a container with chopped peppers and some grilled green onions (nice touch) along with a few slices of lime. I'd never had limes served with a burrito but decided to take the hint and gave them a squeeze every few bites. WOW! What a flavor when combined with the burrito filling that included cheese and Mexican cream. My wife had the beef Torta and it was excellent as well. I learned from the VERY friendly owner that they'd only recently transitioned from a truck to a fixed location. I am sure these guys would KILL IT if they had a location in the Bay Area. (Middle Contra Costa county please!). I can't say that I ever expect to be in Winton, CA again but if I do I'm going to Gordo's no matter what time it is. The reason for 4 and not 5 stars is that there is only out-door seating. Seeing as we were there on a cold January day (ate in the car instead) I just couldn't give the 5th star. First visit to Los Gordos for 2011, and it has not changed. Still as great as I've mentioned in my past reviews of this restaurant. This time I ordered a chicken burrito supreme for around $5. It was so huge that I could not finish it. The burrito is more spicy than say the meat quesadillas so maybe ask for less sauce if you have a low tolerance to spicy. I ordered online ahead of time because I was going to pick up my order on my lunch break, and I was told the order never went through. That was kinda of annoying, but I didn't mind. Then after I ordered and paid I realized I was charged more than what they said online. I guess they charge 75 cents for using a debit card. It's not posted on their menu by the window or online, and the lady didn't say anything. On their website it says and I quote, "Initially started as a taco truck, Los Gordos has grown to a full restaurant...". You name a restaurant that charges extra for using debit. I'd be livid if I brought my family here and they tried pulling that on me. The food was good, no complaints on that. I really liked the red sauce on the tacos. I picked this place because I could order online and pick it up. Their food isn't any better than the other taco trucks in Winton or Atwater. There are a ton of Mexican restaurant in the Central Valley; All with the same ingredients. I had 3 lengua (tongue) tacos. They were great and very comparable to what you find in Mexico. I normally avoid Mexican food because they never compare to what you find in Mexico plus my mom cooks authentic Mexican, but this place was great. The food is also very inexpensive. It was like going back to Mexico, where you eat your food outside. They have seating around the restaurant, which really made it legit. **Hint** This is one of the best places to eat after a motorcycle ride because you can eat and enjoy looking at your ride. The staff is very friendly, which adds to the positive experience. This is one of only to places that I can trust to serve great Mexican food. If they had negative stars that is what I would rate this place. I ordered a Chorizo breakfast burrito with NO salsa, chili or anything spicy. The order was wrong, it had chili and I couldn't eat it. I took 2 bites and looked inside the buritto and there was chili inside. I asked for my money back, I paid almost $9 for the burrito and was denied. I was told that I didn't order it without salsa and the lady showed me the ticket and it had salsa on it. I also ordered 3 tortas without salsa or chili the same and it was marked without salsa but they also failed to tell me there was sour cream on them (my kids don't eat sour cream). They remade the tortas (the top bread because that was where they were putting the cream. They remade my burrito. And it was missing the cheese (there was cheese on the previous burrito) and was not good tasting and it also didn't have eggs (the breakfast burrito states eggs). This place is a major disappointment and food is not worth the prices. (Burnt bread, food). They don't list or tell you everything that is on their food items and they don't take accurate orders nor will they refund you your money when they are clearly incompetent! If I could rate it 3.5 I would. I am from Stockton and I have my go to Taco Trucks and Mexican food spots. One of my first questions was "where can I get good Mexican food here on Atwater?". I tried this place today. I ordered a pastor burrito and my wife 2 pastor tacos and 1 asada. The pastor itself was just ok. It tasted more like carnitas. However the sauce was money. Very good!
