Their mole is great! The menu lists the mole enchiladas as having chicken but we were able to get it with just cheese instead as we are vegetarians. Los Marcelos....... wow. We live nearby and recently moved here. I didnt know this was here when we signed that lease but And I didn't know how much it would improve our life in this neighborhood. First things first everyone...the young man who serves and waits tables here has the best energy. Sometimes its busy and he's the only one working and sometimes its slow and he's still the only one. No matter what he just always is radiating divine vibes!! I'd come back just for him and I mean that in a human way not in some flirt way. Next. two for one margaritas all day? Stop Thats amazing. My partner and I always take advantage of that. And they come in these cute hand made (seemingly hand made...i'm making assumptions here ) cups. See my photos. They're good margaritas too. Sometimes (usually) we acccieentally get wasted here. Good thing we don't have to drive home Finally. The food is amazing. This restaurant reminded me that I definitely do not live in Texas. The service was fine, our server disappeared after our food was delivered and the bus person ended up taking care of us. Now the food. We got the queso fundido for the appetizer. It was delicious, the chorizo was pretty oily... but it's chorizo and sometimes it gets oily. For the mains, one of us ordered chicken enchiladas and the other ordered the combo 5 (beef taco, chicken burrito, and cheese enchilada) I was asked which spice level for the burrito... I'm a pepper belly and chose hot. Thank god I did. Everything but the sauce for the burrito was so incredibly bland... the taco beef may have been salted... but that was it. The sauce covering the enchilada may as well have been straight tomato sauce... Needless to say, I don't think that I will return. read more

As for my order of Al Carbon Steak Tacos, it comes with 3 soft tortilla tacos, served with Rice, Beans, Lettuce, Pico De Gallo and Guacamole. Nothing stellar, nothing fancy. The Al Carbon Steak Tacos, Does NOT WOW my taste bud. I so wish for the Salsa to be EXTRA SPICY, but it was not. Perhaps, I might talk to the owner and perhaps next time request for a MORE SPICY Salsa, or sauce for my next meal. I'm a bit conflicted about this review. On the plus side, my to-go server was wonderful. This young man was super helpful and quick. And the price was fine (inexpensive). On the minus, the food was "OK". The beef and chicken tacos lacked flavor and the burrito was more like a mini-burrito. The guacamole lacked both texture and taste. There's no ambiance - more like an office cafeteria. So I guess that for the price it's fine but nothing special. Hence a weak "4". read more

Our party of three ate lunch there today. I ordered cheese enchiladas with onions. When served it was chicken enchiladas so I told waitress I ordered cheese with onions. She seemed a bit perturbed but did take them back. She asked if I wanted same sauce...not knowing that different enchilada plates had different sauces I said I suppose so...just wanted cheese enchiladas with onions and sauce. Got new order fairly quickly...no onions but I just let that go! My bill came and was charged $16.99 for cheese enchiladas. I figured she forgot to adjust from the chicken to the cheese as menu stated cheese were $14.99. Waitress informed me I was charged extra for same sauce that goes on chicken ones. I complained and was told nothing she could do as she not one who sets prices. No effort was made to adjust price with manager or owner. She just lost several customers as a result! This place was a bit of a disappointment. If you are looking for delicious, flavorful food, this is not the place for you. If you are looking to maximize your calorie per dollar, this may be a good bet. The tortilla chips they put out taste like they are from a bag. The salsa was delicious though. I got chicken enchiladas, which was a massive portion. However the chicken had so little flavor. This place has become our go-to for good breakfast burritos in Golden. They are HUGE and filling and always delicious. Vegetarian green chile is a big plus for us as vegetarians, and they have an Egg, Bean and Potato burrito that we just love. I have yet to come to sit down for food; but I want to check out their happy hour marg special and try their chile rellenos and other items on the menu soon. I'll update my review accordingly but in the meantime.... Definitely go for breakfast burritos! I can't imagine the rest of their menu is any less good based on these. I went here because I was waiting for my wife who was getting her hair done next door. I get my hair cut at the same place so I'd seen Los Marcelos, but had never eaten there. When I first walked I was surprised by the ambience, it was very nice inside. I was kind of expecting it was a fast food joint, but it's a nice cozy restaurant. The waitress immediately brought me chips and salsa and the salsa was very flavorful with just right amount of heat. I had a margarita, which was excellent and ordered the green chili bowl. I was asked if I wanted mild, medium or hot... I ordered hot and it didn't disappoint. This was one of the best bowls of green chili I've had in the five years I've lived in Colorado. Bottom line, the food was great and the service was wonderful. I'm looking forward to returning and trying more of they dishes on their menu! read more

My family of 5 stopped in for dinner a few nights back, most likely wont be back. The restaurant was almost empty (I should have known better!) Good Mexican food restaurants normally have people lined up on a Friday night. The food was just plain BAD. The wimpy tortilla chips could have been the highlight for me. Salsa was ok, but it was more of a hot sauce than a nice fresh, thick salsa. Words for the food - tasteless, super soupy, institutional, under-cooked, over-cooked. We're from South Texas and we really appreciate good Mexican food. Unfortunately the food at Los Marcelos fell way short of even our most open minded expectations. The food was a 1 star at best, but the good news is that the service was wonderful!! This place has all the ingredients to be a great little local Mexican food joint.
