Very good to find. We were visiting in Denver we met some friends for lunch in Golden. They suggested the table Mountain Grill and Cantina and we met them there. It's on the street where they have the arches that go across the street that say golden Colorado. When you first walk in, there's all kinds of things on the wall mounted elk, moose, mountain lion and a fireplace that gives you the idea it's a lodge . Two of us ordered margaritas and one of us ordered a beer me. We all ordered something completely different and I had the chili rellenos. They were delicious maybe the best ones I've ever had,. My wife had fajitas and they were sizzling hot and smelled so good. I almost wished I'd got those. One of the ladies had two tacos and they just had a very good look about them. We enjoyed our meal extremely well and the margaritas were top-notch. We had a very charming server and we sat out on the porch outside overlooking the road. It was a beautiful day in Denver. Came here for a patio lunch and had a great time. They allowed us to bring a dog on the patio and we had a lovely view of downtown Golden while we ate. I got their veggie montadas which was great! Stacked crispy tortillas with cheese and veggies. The side rice and beans were great too. I did pay for the added guac so that doesn't come with it but it was a delicious touch (but I probably wouldn't pay for the up-charge next time). read more

The patio is somewhat small, but we really enjoyed the nice weather. We split a house margarita on the rocks that we both enjoyed. I ordered the Birria tacos which weren't the best I've ever had, but still yummy. My favorite was the rice and beans. My SO ordered the chile cheese relleno which he really liked. I went to a reception here -- this review is about their buffet. First of all the presentation was beautiful and the food was pretty darn good. There was fresh fruit and melon along with crudites and several dressings to start. As we moved down the line, the Rattlesnake Bites - cheese stuffed jalapenos, wrapped in bacon was exceptional. The sauteed mushrooms were wonderful. The chicken sate was a bit dried out, however, the house made picante and Verde sauce helped. Two different, tasty empanadas completed the meal. We found this place soon after we arrived late one night in Golden and were lucky to see they were still open with lots of customers hanging out on the outdoor patio. I got a carnitas quesadilla and I am not kidding you, it might have been the best quesadilla I've ever had. The carnitas added a ton of flavor! The others ordered enchiladas and loved them. We were staying at Table Mountain Inn for our anniversary and before attending a concert at The Buffalo Rose we had dinner here. I had made reservations in advance as it was a Saturday night, and glad I did as it was very busy. Our server Matt became aware of the fact that it was our anniversary and I got a complimentary glass of champagne and my hubby a glass of Coors light. I mean, you're in Golden, Coors is king. Don't know if that's customary or if Matt made that happen. He's an excellent server and all around good dude. We started with the 3 dip trio. The salsa, guacamole and queso were great. Great breakfasts ! Great lunches!! The avocado toast is served on two slabs of delicious multi grain toast, nicely spiced avocado with pepitas and topped with pickled onions. Yum !! Not sure how I ate the eggs. Also had the chicken and biscuits for lunch. Came here for their Christmas dinner prix-fixe menu. It was only of the only prix-fixe menus that had good vegetarian options. We had a reservation because it was of course busy on the holiday. We found a place open for brunch on Christmas morning for 9 people. This place has a super cool vibe. I love the southwestern style decor. I'm guessing since it was Christmas they added a 20% gratuity automatically, unsure if they always do this. It was very expensive altogether, but it was a nice experience. The food was ok, not special but ok. The burrito was gigantic. The mimosa was tiny. Our server was attentive. But for the price, it was definitely not worth it. While at Goldens in Golden, we stayed at the Table Mountain Inn and had the opportunity to have dinner at the Grill & Cantina. The snake bite appetizer was phenomenal (but you have to like some spice heat). The chicken in the quesadilla was very tasty and the blue corn enchiladas hit the spot. The decor is very nice and not the cheap, gaudy decor you often see in cantinas. Service was good. My only complaint would be the good came out too fast! read more

Came in here for brunch for a Bachelorette and it was fantastic. We had reservations and were seated super quick for a large party. The place seemed clean and the bathrooms were clean and smelled good which is always a good sign. Service was great all morning, we were well tended to. I had a Benedict and it was fantastic. We stayed at this hotel and dined here while we were in Golden, CO. It was just mediocre food. I did not care for their signature ranch beans or their version of street corn. The enchiladas were good but basic. My husband's carne asada was good and tender. He wasn't a fan of their beans or little corn fritters on his plate. I would recommend going for the Chips/salsa/queso with adult beverages but overall wasn't a fan of Colorado's style of Mexican food. Being from San Antonio where we have some of the best Mexican food in the nation, maybe I set the bar too high on expectations. The atmosphere is bright, colorful and very festive for a group of people to gather. The food was average and I would probably eat there again but for brunch. I had the Mountain burrito and enjoyed it but my husband had the burrito Gordo and was not enthusiastic. One of the couples ordered fajitas and the short rib and they stated their food was good. Let me start with some love: the carne asada plate with that magical corn thing? So. Freaking. Good. I've dreamt about that combo. The flavors were next-level, the steak was juicy, and the corn side dish was borderline addictive. For a while, this place was an easy go-to when I wanted something hearty and satisfying in Golden. But then... the cockroach. Yes, you read that right. A cockroach crawling across the banister right next to my booth like it paid rent. And as if that wasn't enough to ruin an appetite, my server actually changed the tip amount on my receipt. I spotted the upcharge on my statement and called the restaurant. The manager's response? Basically a shrug, like this happens all the time. Not the vibe. To their credit, they refunded the difference, hence the generous 2 stars instead of 1. It is a long way to Golden from Aurora, but it was well worth it. Our "lunch bunch" of four seniors trekked to historic Golden for lunch. It was a pleasant surprise to find such an authentic looking New Mexico adobe style building and decor. For our meals, one ordered the Nachos, another one got the chili relleno, another got beef enchiladas, and I got the crab eggs Benedict with fruit. The order of nachos was large enough for four of us to share and have plenty. The chili relleno was huge and flavorful. The shredded beef in the enchiladas was tender with just the right sauce. The crab Benedict was not only picturesque, but was done just right. The poached eggs were beautiful little mounds of perfectly cooked egg. They were covered with the Benedict sauce and sat on English muffins that were tender when cut. The soft shell crab was done perfectly and was a tasty accompaniment to the dish. You can be that we will return to this fine establishment where brunch and lunch are available every day. Our knowledgeable and efficient waiter, Charlie, was just perfect for this meal. read more

Came in during a snowy morning and appreciated the fact their interior is massive and accommodated our wedding party of 10 people. There is a very expansive menu serving all types of classics with Colorado based local produce and house made jalapeño biscuits. I had the chicken and biscuits and it was a very generous portion for the price, glad they were able to give me a side of their delicious gravy that had a great spice to it. I didn't have any brunch cocktails with my meal but the rest of the table enjoyed theres. Well his Christmas morning my reservation was good I was sat on time my prime rib came pretty quickly but I had to send it back because the sides were just warm and I like mine hot the horseradish sauce looks homemade it was delicious and so was the au jus I also had a Mark Margarita which I think they just make from well it's not from scratch I don't believe as far as the service goes my waitress was not very pleasant especially for a Christmas morning and not very attentive I sat for a while with an empty glass of water and I suppose it's cuz I was the only one out in the patio and it was probably an extra effort for her to come out and check on me I also had to ask for some regs to wipe up water that was on the floor at my feet because the initial waiter filled my dog's bowl from a faucet right next to my table and he did not turn it all the way off so I had to ask him for some rags and I wiped it up myself and the rags sat there the entire time I was eating so I'm not that impressed with the service I just asked the waitress if they were asked to volunteer to work on Christmas and she said with a huge smile no they were just scheduled and I bet any money that that is a really huge reason why I feel she really wasn't happy to be here today on Christmas morning... just saying read more

The good news is, I had one of the best salads of my entire life here: the Honey Chipotle Chicken Salad. The chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly, but the combination of the kale, mango, roasted red peppers, goat cheese, and cherry tomatoes was simply divine (I passed on the candied pecans). I popped in for breakfast during the week before enjoying the day in Golden and on Clear Creek tubing. Breakfast was fulfilling. A lot of healthy power up breakfast choices. I opted for egg whites with spinach, house potatoes that were delicious. Some phat applewood smoked bacon slices, fresh fruit and a monster size Green Chile biscuit. The staff is welcoming, quick and efficient. My meal was spot on. The decor is southwest charming characterized by exposed wood, old paintings with antique western style furniture. We had a good time and enjoyed the margaritas we ordered, they had many different options available! The service was kind as well. Minus one star because I ordered barbacoa enchilada and the meat on them tasted and smelled rotten. I took one bite and couldn't go any further. I was honestly scared I would get food poisoning but luckily I was ok. I did send them back and the restaurant was quick to apologize and take it off our bill, which was greatly appreciated. Minus one more star due to the prices. My enchiladas were almost $20 which is a bit outrageous for 3 enchilada and rice and beans.
