One of the most enjoyable episodes of heartburn I have had. Chips and salsa came to the table as soon as we were seated. Good salsa, but heat was needed. As a young lady walked by our table, I asked for the hot stuff. She quickly returned with a generous bowl and a warning about its effectiveness. My wife chimed in with "don't worry, he can handle it." The friendly young lady was Christina the owner. I talked with her before we left the restaurant. I was curious about the restaurant's history. It used to be out on Highway 51 towards Coweta, then several years ago, they relocated to Tiger Plaza on Kenosha. Her and her husband bought the restaurant recently. She explained that even though they retained the name and menu they are in no way related to the other Los Mariachis Mexican Restaurant operating in Jenks. She emphasized that. The restaurant has a burrito they call the Burrito El Bravo. It is filled with grilled beef, homemade chorizo, refried beans, shredded cheese, and pico de gallo. The pico de gallo was made with fresh chopped jalapenos, lots of jalapenos. The overstuffed burrito was then covered with queso. Fresh cut crunchy potato chips came with the meal. The house made zesty chorizo stood out to make the burrito the most flavorful, spicy, meat filled tortilla I have had. A stimulating savory combination, but not so hot that it was difficult to eat. It didn't need any additional salsa though. You want some delicious meaty, spicy Mexican food, order this burrito! My wife had the "Build Your Own Lunch." Her selection was a ground beef taco and enchilada. The enchilada was covered with green sauce, beans and rice on the side. She enjoyed great meal. This is the worst place ever to eat my husband, and I decided to go to mariachis in broken arrows since we have not been there in a hot minute, this place used to be amazing until today, as we were eating I reached down to eat some rice and beans, and in the picture below, you will see what we found, we showed our waitress which by the way was very sweet, As she brought the manager over,he said he would take care of it. He gave us a five dollar discount. We could not even finish our meal, it was so disgusting I almost puked and still want to just writing the review and talking about it. As described in the picture below, it was a piece of hair with the skin attached to it., Very disgusting it makes me wonder if they even wash their hands while returning from the restroom. Looking for a new Mexican joint in town so popped in for lunch. This was the morning after St. Patty's day and their chalkboard out front had a couple of beer and margarita specials posted. I asked if the specials were still in effect and heard the waiter ask the manager who said he would honor them although they were for the night before. Our server promptly delivered chips and salsa and took our drink orders. The chips were crisp and great for dipping without being too thick. The salsa was fresh with just a hint of cilantro, but really needed a dash of heat. The salsa was family friendly and even a toddler could enjoy it. I ordered the La Hawaiiana with steak. The presentation is really nice with a pineapple sliced in half, then hollowed out and filled with grilled strips of steak, onions, bell pepper and pineapple chunks and rice and beans on a separate plate. The meat and vegetables were nicely cooked and the pineapple gives it a sweet flavor. She ordered the #3 Combo that came with a Chili Relleno and Enchilada. Hers was supposed to be a chicken enchilada, but came out cheese, so we had to flag down and waiter who quickly brought it the chicken enchilada. The chicken in the enchilada was sliced rather than shredded so you could really taste the meat. The relleno was nicely fried and the sauce added a nice tart punch. I wasn't expecting anything special when I ordered the margarita but it arrived and was bright green. Guess they still had St. Patty's mix to use up and was a nice surprise. The draft beer was also served very cold. The decor is typical for most Mexican places in town. I can see where it could be very loud in there when busy as several people had commented. Overall the food and service were okay and if in the area would probably stop in again. read more

We were looking for somewhere new to try and venture outside of our usual go-to places in BA, so we gave this place a try. When we walked in we noticed a special on the chalkboard that was in plain sight right when you enter. We were seated and had a look at the menu. I was surprised by how expensive the food was, but I figured if it's really great, totally worth it. Right? Well, we decided to go for the special that was listed on the chalkboard, but our waitress told us it was not valid and was yesterday's special. Mind you, this was around 5pm and they had been open all day. After going back and forth with another worker they decided to honor the sign. It was 2 enchiladas and rice with beans for 8 bucks. We munched on chips and salsa while we waited on the food. The salsa was decent and one of the reasons I gave them a star. The other star was for the look and ambiance. It looked clean and bright. The food took a while to come out and when it did I was disappointed. The queso had no flavor and was very watery. The beans had zero flavor and the rice was crusty and dry like it was not fresh.This plate was normally almost $11! I don't know why. The portion was not large and the food was drab. I said to my wife, we could have gone to bueno and gone crazy with the amount we had spent here. We never got refills on our water or salsa, which I covered my food in to try and give it flavor. We came here a few months ago and had the most terrible Service. I originally wrote a review then, but deleted it when the manager contacted me and offered to make it right, but never followed up on his offer. The girl server was extremely inattentive and kept disappearing. We had to ask multiple times for basic stuff like refills of drinks and salsa. Then after this horrible service, we were automatically charged a $14 gratuity fee for 5 people. They barely have any alcohol in them at all and it tastes like mix. When I asked for a recommendation for a better margarita (I ordered a top shelf) I was told I could buy an additional shot to add to the margarita I had already ordered. Overall: An okay experience. Stumbled into this place for lunch after getting an appointment time wrong with an hour to kill and hunger pangs hitting me hard. I'm so glad I did. The salsa is insanely tasty and perfectly spicy. The very nice server brought over a sample of the DELICIOUS white queso, which in my opinion is the marker of a superb Mexican restaurant. I ordered the tortilla soup, which had a rich broth and delicious flavor. The presentation was nice and I appreciated that the cheese was served on the side so you can add what you like. Next time, I'd order it without rice, which was not listed on the menu as an ingredient. Perhaps it's traditionally served that way, but I had not had it before, but I found it overpowered the soup and other ingredients, which left me with half my bowl uneaten. Ordered the Carnitas dinner, delicious and the serving was plentiful. Margaritas at happy hour prices (all the time) were flavorful/refreshing. Laura was our server and she was right there for service and to answer any questions. My second vist a few days later was just as pleasant as the first. This is our go-to-close-to-home Mexican joint. Food is great. Service is always friendly and the right mix of attentive and casual. We have only lived in BA since April of this year, so we have always sat outside. The patio is small but comfortable. And, even though the restaurant is in a shopping center, the patio doesn't feel like you're eating in a parking lot. Food is above average typical Tulsa-style TexMex. Everything we have ordered has been delicious. Salsa is fresh and garlicky. Chips are on the thick side and crisp. Best of all, they are dog friendly outside. Great service as others have noted! Sixto was friendly and attentive. A couple issues lost in translation, which I feel bad about since I claim yo hablo el Español, but everything was taken care of swiftly and to our satisfaction. Great place to eat. We accidentally ordered 2 pitchers of house margaritas, which we enjoyed (I am fairly sensitive to tequila that isn't 100% agave, so it wasn't crappy stuff) but my favorite margs are still probably mi cocina aniversario (also probably 3-4 times more expensive).
