We completely found this place by accident when we were in the Tulsa area looking for someplace to have lunch, but let me tell you I am glad we found it! It is not the fanciest place you will go to nor is it the most upscale what it is, is really good people serving really good food! There were four of us in our party, and we all got something different. I got fajitas another person got a chicken salad sandwich, and another person got a Chile Relleno. It was one of those situations where, as each of us took our first bite of our food. We looked at everyone else, and kind of smiled and nodded our heads approvingly. The service was really good too. Our server could not have been more friendly and more accommodating for us. Well, this place was not on our agenda this trip. Staff has an attitude problem! There was an issue with our check, when we questioned it, the short haired woman wearing a plaid shirt got an attitude with us. When I talked to her in the same tone, she got angry, stomped around, raised her voice, made a scene in the restaurant, and got the manager. Grubby was my first impression. Doors, chairs, walls, vinegar & oil cruets. Appears nothing has been really cleaned or refreshed for Years! Sticky table. I had the lunch chicken salad and was quite surprised. The grilled chicken was cut So Small that it was hard to get on the fork. White lettuce, no egg. Two out of five stars reason why they change the menu they condensed it from being a giant menu to a smaller menu. They got rid of their famous chicken fried steak, which was the heart and soul. So I had to go ahead and order fajitas and which also the server then messed up my order they don't carry Pepsi products anymore. It's nothing but Coca-Cola products not a big fan of Coke. No pun intended second of all the waiter server. Whatever you wanna call them did not listen to instructions. I asked for like I mentioned up top the fajitas for one which was supposed to be included with steak and chicken, but I've mentioned I want shrimp with it. He just gives me nothing but a tray of shrimp peppers, and onions and ice Just it's not rocket science to follow instructions. read more

I cannot remember the last time I was at Pepper Grill, but I was really impressed with the fish tacos and the fajitas that my boyfriend got. My group came in with about 20 people and our waitress was fantastic and taking care of us. She made sure we all had plenty of water chips and all of our meals came out at the same time. If you're in Utica Square, I need a quickie meal ranging from burgers to tacos. This is your place. read more

Well I didn't think it would be so soon after my last not so great visit from just a couple weeks ago, but I did come to Peppers again for another shot at having an experience like what I remember this place was like years ago. I added another star from my last review, mainly because of the service (especially compared to last time!!). For one, we were actually welcomed into the restaurant and weren't rushed to order literally on the spot. Plus, we found out that the winter hours they told us about last time were only for weekdays (and we went on a Sunday, so there was no reason for what happened last time in the first place...). Second, the server we had was sweet. Our chip bowl was filled quickly and so were our drinks. The food itself was not quite what I was hoping it would be, especially since (as I think I mentioned in my last review) I used to have pretty good experiences here. The chips were stale tasting and the salsa was more liquidy than I like, and didn't have a ton of flavor. However, I eventually asked if they had spicier salsa (something I do often) and they brought it to me quickly. It still didn't have TONS of flavor but it was better. I'd even go so far as to say I liked their spicier salsa better than some of the spicier salsas at other places! At some places where I've done this the spicier salsa just tastes more bitter. This was still the case here, but it was done better, maybe because the flavor was mild anyway. I ordered the Fajita burrito, and there are a few different choices you make with it. I went with chicken, white queso (instead of yellow), and refried beans (as opposed to fiesta beans). The queso on top was fine but I probably would have been just as fine without it, and wouldn't necessarily be tempted to order it on its own, like as an appetizer. Not bad (like it didn't ruin the dish by any means), just not anything exceptionally good. Something else I feel like I need to mention is that the onions inside the burrito were EXTREMELY sweet, which made them have an overall odd flavor for some reason. I had to try to pick them all out (and I'm not a picky eater). The rest of the burrito was pretty good though, other than that. I'm not saying I would never go back to Peppers but I do think I'll need to give it a decent amount of time before I return. It just seems like it's not what it used to be... I don't know if they got new owners/ management or something within the last handful of years, but I do hope they improve again and get back to where they were!!! read more

Our family stopped by on a Thursday evening and had quick and exceptional service by Jose. If I could give this place 100 stars I would! We brought close to 100 high school wrestlers, coaches and chaperones for a tournament and Pepper's catered lunches and dinners for the entire week! They were on time and even set up our dinners in the evenings! Foood was fresh and filling! Their catered taco bar was a HUGE hit with the kids! The cheesecake chimis are to die for! So, once again I revisited a place that I have not been in years (years, I tell you). It was my best friend's birthday and she wanted to meet here. It is ironic that this is a place we used to haunt quite frequently some years ago (and the one in south Tulsa). The thin chips and the salsa were as good as I remembered. I have to say, however, that Pepper's is looking a little worse for wear on the inside. Update much? We both got lunch salads and were warned they were small. Indeed they were. Don't get me wrong, they were the perfect size for lunch (especially after all the chips) BUT I'm not sure they measured up to the price paid. I will say that the jerked chicken salad came with roasted vegetables which was a bit odd but worked quite well (especially with a bit of ranch dressing). Went as part of a group of 30 for lunch. Servers were polite and efficient. Ordered the Chicken and Spinach Florentine Quesadilla which came with rice, beans, guacamole and sour cream. The quesadilla was the most disgusting item I have ever been served in a restaurant. Whatever the seasoning was on the chicken it was intolerable with the spinach. I ate the R&B and called it a day. My mom and I went to lunch at Pepper's yesterday, and I just wanted to complement Joel the bartender. He went out of his way when I tripped on some uneven surface outside and sprained my ankle. He and one of the other managers raced outside to help me, and they didn't have to bc it wasn't even part of Pepper's property. It was so kind of them to help me out and I will never forget it. We have passed this place many times and have heard good things, so we decided to check it out. First and foremost, service was great. But our first impression was scary. The front door was filthy dirty from years of use. However, our hostess was prompt and friendly. The menu's were sticky from not being wiped clean. Our server was awesome, Kind, friendly and helpful. We ordered our drinks, water. One of our plastic cups had a deformed rim from being over heated. We chose the soup and half sandwich. The food was well prepared and plated. The food gets 5 stars, very good. The overall cleanliness gets a zero. Floors, walls cabinets, light switches and bathrooms were disgusting. You can write your name in the dust on the lamps over your booth . My thoughts of what the food prep areas must look like causes me to not return. What's amazing is this place serves an upscale clientele and nobody seems to care or notice the filthy surroundings of this place. I would highly suggest they hire a cleaning service to do the job the management obviously can not do! So disappointing. read more

My family and i have been coming here for years! Decent Tex mex and have a great selection of American food for a wonderful price. Conveniently located within Utica square - my go to is the chicken salad sandwich not too full of mayo and their wheat berry bread is wonderful and you can even get it toasted. Got the grilled chicken sandwich last time the chicken was fresh and tender only needed more honey mustard. My dad always gets the double bacon cheeseburger it's huge comes with a side and around 10 bucks. Their salads are big and flavorful also. I never seem to get Mexican food here which is odd my next and suggestion and by far favorite item there is their chocolate shakes hand spun like the old fashioned fountains and they come with the extra tin even. Beats braums by far in my opinion. Also every day of the week they offer wonderful specials that makes it even more affordable and on cinco de mayo they always offer cheap dollar margaritas. Came here for the first time and loved it!! We enjoyed our day and sat outside in the beautiful sunshine. The raspberry margaritas were outstanding and our server Samantha (Sam I Am) was the best ever! We told Sam we're only coming on the days she's working....no joke. Pepper's is pretty good! There are two locations that I'm aware of - this is the one in midtown by St. John in Utica Square. They serve Tex-Mex and American fare. I typically split a Mexican plate with my wife like enchiladas. We have to go easy on the chips and salsa because both are really good. This location is kind of an odd shape - we often sit in the bar seats by the windows. It's great people watching but an awkward place to sit. (Also, it's by the windows so wear a jacket if it's cold out!) The very last time I went I had a salad. It was OK - I liked the dressing, a spicy ranch, and there was a good amount of toppings mixed in. I got grilled chicken on top and that added a lot to it. It was a little overpriced. Overall, Pepper's is a great place for lunch or dinner. There's enough variety that everyone in your party can find something they enjoy. read more

I've never written a review for a restaurant before, but I had to this time. My son and I just ate there for lunch. He ordered a chicken sandwich with onion rings. The chicken was tough and couldn't eat it and the onions rings where cooked in OLD oil. I tasted one. They had a somewhat fishy taste. I told our waitress and she just said, ok, I'll tell them. But I definitely wasn't expecting ROTTEN FOOD. I ordered the chicken chimichanga and the chicken was totally RANCID. How it made it out of the kitchen is beyond me.
