My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The salsa is very tasty without being spicy. We loved the many options and were very satisfied with what we ordered. The ambiance was nice; dark and cozy. Our server was prompt and friendly. We'll definitely be back to try something different.

Finally, tried peppers after talking about going forever!! My husband and I ate outside this evening because it was soo nice out! The music and environment was chill and our waitress was very attentive. They have a huge variety of food from pasta, burgers, and Mexican to spuds and steaks! My husband enjoyed their burrito and loved the beans! I only had a bowl of potato soup but it was very delicious! The chips and salsa was average salsa, of course.

    Chimichanga, I think.

Well I didn't think it would be so soon after my last not so great visit from just a couple weeks ago, but I did come to Peppers again for another shot at having an experience like what I remember this place was like years ago. I added another star from my last review, mainly because of the service (especially compared to last time!!). For one, we were actually welcomed into the restaurant and weren't rushed to order literally on the spot. Plus, we found out that the winter hours they told us about last time were only for weekdays (and we went on a Sunday, so there was no reason for what happened last time in the first place...). Second, the server we had was sweet. Our chip bowl was filled quickly and so were our drinks. The food itself was not quite what I was hoping it would be, especially since (as I think I mentioned in my last review) I used to have pretty good experiences here. The chips were stale tasting and the salsa was more liquidy than I like, and didn't have a ton of flavor. However, I eventually asked if they had spicier salsa (something I do often) and they brought it to me quickly. It still didn't have TONS of flavor but it was better. I'd even go so far as to say I liked their spicier salsa better than some of the spicier salsas at other places! At some places where I've done this the spicier salsa just tastes more bitter. This was still the case here, but it was done better, maybe because the flavor was mild anyway. I ordered the Fajita burrito, and there are a few different choices you make with it. I went with chicken, white queso (instead of yellow), and refried beans (as opposed to fiesta beans). The queso on top was fine but I probably would have been just as fine without it, and wouldn't necessarily be tempted to order it on its own, like as an appetizer. Not bad (like it didn't ruin the dish by any means), just not anything exceptionally good. Something else I feel like I need to mention is that the onions inside the burrito were EXTREMELY sweet, which made them have an overall odd flavor for some reason. I had to try to pick them all out (and I'm not a picky eater). The rest of the burrito was pretty good though, other than that. I'm not saying I would never go back to Peppers but I do think I'll need to give it a decent amount of time before I return. It just seems like it's not what it used to be... I don't know if they got new owners/ management or something within the last handful of years, but I do hope they improve again and get back to where they were!!!

Terrific salsa with the pre-meal chips. Just give me a straw!

This place is about 1/2 Tex-Mexican and about 1/2 everything else, including steak and seafood, salads, and pasta. Good for any occasion, any party. Our family stopped by on a Thursday evening and had quick and exceptional service by Jose. An amicable, comfortable restaurant on the edge of Utica Square across from St John's Medical Center, Pepper's provided generous portions at reasonable prices.

Service was spot on throughout the entire night. We started with the deviled eggs, half plain and half Chef's Choice. The Chef's Choice were the best, drizzled with chili crisp (or pickled Szechuan peppercorns) and topped with a tiny gherkin and fresh dill. The soup of the day was a cabbage and radish soup. It was interesting and very homey but I wish I had ordered the salad. I had the Novarro Farm sweet Potato Gnocchi (kale and pecan pesto, Birch Bottom Farm Georgia candy roaster, fresh chevre). I was a little hesitant about the kale pesto but should NOT have been. This dish was delicious--great garlic flavor. Would order again. The burger looked amazing and while The Hubs said it was good, he also said it needed some more spice. They had a couple of rotating beers from Heirloom--a Mexican Lager and an Italian Pilsner. I had the Water Lily cocktail, their take on an Aviation. Order it just because it's beautiful (and refreshing). The photo does not depict the deep color of it. I asked what other gin based cocktails they had on their menu. They didn't but the server/bartender offered to make me a Bee's Knees for the second round. It was delicious! The atmosphere here is casual but the food is elevated. I kept thinking this is what a French bistro would be like inside. I want to come back and shop the market. Oh, and the apple pie was excellent as well!

They definitely have their own twist on things. The sweet potatoes were good but a little heavy on the nutmeg. They tasted like a mix of apple and pumpkin pie. The mac and cheese was really creamy. I really liked the horseradish coleslaw. I'm not a big fan of collard greens but I still tried them and actually thought they were pretty good. For our mains, two of us had the brisket and one had ribs. Both were super good. There were 4 different sauces. I recommend trying them all. I wanted to try the sausage but they were sold out. I guess you need to get there earlier than an hour before they closed. We finished with a couple desserts. The banana pudding was probably the best I've had. Their seasonal cobbler was blueberry and very tasty! I was hoping for peach. Maybe next time. Yes there will definitely be a next time. It was a lot of food so we had plenty left over that ate for lunch the next day. The atmosphere is super friendly and really clean. Like most barbecue places I've been to there is no table service. You order and pay at the counter. Then depending on how busy they are they will bring your food to your table or have you pick up at the counter. For me the cherry on top is their pay it forward meal. For $15 you can buy a meal for someone in need. They hand you a receipt that you pin to a board. Then when someone needs a meal they can go in and grab one off the board. They offer them their lunch special. While I was there I saw a very grateful individual come in and get a meal. The staff were super nice and treated them just like any other customer. Great food! Great service! Great value! Do yourself a favor and try this place!

The chips and red onion dip were a nice little touch. Something I've never had before and we enjoyed it

The fish portion was large and had a delicate and crispy batter that was delicious. The batter didn't get soft or gooey, or fall off while eating it. It came on a pile of potato wedges, which were also made well with crispy-ish outsides and soft insides. The fish on top of them limited the crispness of the outsides, but didn't lower the score. With a squeeze of grilled lemon and some malt vinegar it was pretty close to perfection. It may take a trip to Jolly Old England to beat it, and I've had F&C in England and Ireland so I can at least compare it to the good stuff.

It was semi warm and it just wasn't what I was expecting. But my father-in-laws wife had it and loved it. So I chose this restaurant because they had fried chicken in the menu. Well, I'm never gonna turn down fried chicken so I ordered it. I included pictures for reference. At first glance I thought they had over cooked it because of its dark color. But as I started eating I realized that they had used a ton of paprika in the batter to give it that dark red amber color. The chicken was good and not overcooked. However, they used a batter for the crust. Much like a Japanese tempura but less garlic. The crust was a hard crunchy shell. The flavor was ok but I just don't care for battered chicken. I also felt like it was cooked too hot. The crust was borderline over cooked but the inside was done. That's just my opinion. They served the chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy on the side. Both just warm and as my meal progressed the gravy was straight up cold. But I was finished so I powered through. To be fair, the fried chicken was the least expensive entree on the menu. But I'm kind of a fried chicken snob so I'm gonna give it a 6 out of 10. I prob would not order it again, but there were some other things on the menu I am excited to try on our next visit.

The restaurant is bright, clean, and modern. We started with the Smooth Criminal cocktail and the Pineapple Sangria. Both great. Well balanced, unique ingredients, everything you want in a unique cocktail. We did order the whipped feta appetizer, but unfortunately they were very busy and there was some miscommunication. We didn't get to eat it at the restaurant, but they kindly packaged it for us to take home and we enjoyed it later. Although it was good, it would have been way better fresh. But these things happen, it didn't spoil our brunch. On to the mains: lamb shoulder hash...at brunch? Yes, please!!! Topped with two perfectly poached eggs, and brunch potatoes on the side with a nice crisp salad and fresh bread. The lamb was seasoned to perfection, and melted in my mouth. The biggest surprise for me were the potatoes. Brunch potatoes are usually overly greasy and bland. These were fresh, salted, and had the perfect crispness. I would like to think they are fresh, but even if they're frozen...well done! I would have happily eaten 2-3 of these lamb dishes. The French toast was the second entree. Brown butter and maple foam, on top of a piece of French toast that is the size of a small child. Even with all of the sauce, the toast was still crisp. It was a very heavy dish, some fresh berries with some acidity would be nice to cut through it, but the overall flavor was on point. The wine list is exquisite. If you enjoy good wine, this is the spot for you. Their reserve list has some absolute bangers on it at a very reasonable price. All in all, it was a nice experience. We would happily recommend and return.

When our server finally brought the salad, she told us, "I thought you wanted your appetizer first, and I have another table, so someone else is going to take care of you." The interaction felt unnecessarily dismissive, particularly after we had already been waiting so long with very little attention or communication. To make matters worse, after the long wait and confusion, we were ultimately brought the wrong order. The second server who took over our table was much kinder and more attentive, which we appreciated, but by that point the overall experience had already been disappointing.
