This place is basically a taco truck with walls. Everything is served in plastic, there's no table service or anyone checking to see how things are--and yet they still ask for a tip before you even get your food. Stopped by Habaneros tonight because we were looking for dinner in the area. We were seated quickly and I tried the birria tacos which were so amazing! Honestly the best birria I've ever had. I definitely think this place is worth a try if you're nearby. The only problem was that our server wasn't very attentive. Impressed with this place! Very clean inside, cute, bright decor, and great food! We were seated promptly, chips and salsa right behind...our drinks were served promptly, our food was out promptly. Our server was gracious and accommodating. I had a lunch combo...the Chile Relleno and tostada, LOVED it, probably the best relleno I've had. The sides were good too. Disclaimer: subjective review from my lens. This place is an experience from the past before places started using the strong arm of capitalism. You used to get rice and beans with most dishes, included, standard. Many places now it's not included and if you want them - you have to pay usually $3 to...$6 extra. Yes $6 extra for rice and beans. You may think it's a small thing but it speaks to a larger issue. Not Habanero's! Arroz and frijoles are included in most dishes. I couldn't tell if it was grilled or fried, but the server said it was grilled...in 3 flour tortillas and that's it! No rice and beans, no shredded cabbage and tasty sauce, no limes. I requested limes and doctored it up with a lot of salsa. It did come with a small garnish and lettuce, tomato and sour cream. My friend ordered the chimichangas and was nice enough to share with me. We decided to try this new place. To be honest, I wasn't expecting too much. I ordered Carnitas because most place prepare them so far in advance that they are dry and hard. But mine were great. Moist and juicy. Reminded me of the texture of a crock pot roast (but pork obviously). My wife got pork enchiladas with green sauce which is her go to. It was also great. Same tender and juicy pork and the green sauce. And the portions are LARGE!!! We will definitely be back. This is one of our favorites in Tulsa now. read more

We were going to another Mexican place down the street for dinner but drove by and the ambience just didn't seem to be a good fit so we kept driving and saw this place randomly and decided to stop in. It was just two of us so we opted to sit at the bar and were greeted with a very big smile from the very busy bartender who immediately brought us chips and a giant bowl of fresh made salsa which is not a tiny little bowl but a very large bowl. We ordered a couple of Modelo's which were very large well poured lime and salt as they should be and hung out for a little bit while we enjoyed a giant bowl of queso that we ordered which was also a bigger portion than I've had at other places. We opted for the fajitas deluxe which I believe was steak chicken shrimp all the sides and our waitress/bartender kept the tortillas coming we ordered a single order which was plenty for both of us and we took leftovers home. We both agreed that for $38 for two people to dine and have all of this was a tremendous value for the price and we will be back. read more

We strolled into Habaneros on a hot weeknight over the summer. And it wasn't just hot outside. The thermostat near our table read 80° so we were basically sweating during our dinner. I know this wasn't on purpose, and they must've been having AC issues. But it definitely put a damper on the experience. So did hearing the woman at the next table tell her waiter she found glass in her food. Overall it was not a good experience, however, the beef chimichanga actually had a great flavor, so despite the above, I think we will give this place another shot. Had the pleasure of lunching, for the first time, at Habaneros today. It was excellent! When I walked in, I was surprised by how bright and colorful the decor was. I found the service to be excellent, the guacamole to be fresh and flavorful, and the variety of freshly made salsas fantastic. I could not have been more pleased with the cleanliness of the restaurant or the friendliness of the staff. Rey was my server's name, and she was great. It has a big menu with great values on their lunch menu. My wife had the chili relleño and tostada with rice. I had the carne asada with refried beans and Mexican potatoes (not on the lunch menu). The carne asada was two good sized thin cut steaks that had been marinated and grilled. The Mexican Pappas were something new to me. Potatoes cooked with onions and spices. They have mild to spicy hot salsa to go with the chips and your meal. Everything was very good. The service was prompt and the staff friendly. The restaurant looks like an old Braum's that has been nicely renovated with the restaurant's logo throughout, and Mexican themed decorations. First time here with my wife. We went solely on the other reviews and wow we are impressed! It was very clean, we had good comfortable booth seating. Server approached us within minutes and was very kind. Food was great! Their house margarita was fantastic and not too strong For how busy they were, the food came out about 10 minutes or less after we ordered. That was very impressive. I LOVE HABERNEROS! I'm a pretty picky eater but habaneros is my go restaurant. It is nice and clean with comfortable seating and vibrant colors. The staff is very polite and friendly. They also try their very best to communicate if there is a significant language barrier, as most of them speak Spanish as their first language. Most important of all, I LOVE THEIR FOOD! I love their fajitas and the queso is better than anywhere else I've tried. I feel the same about their chips. The enchiladas are also fantastic- my whole family loves this place. We are crazy about the tacos, the rice, the fajitas, the shrimp, the salsa, and the queso. Pretty much everything we have tried so far. Have never had an issue with cleanliness here either.
