Usually a favorite of mine. After a long day i didnt want to cook dinner so i ordered the family broaster chicken meal. Chicken, rice and beans with chips and salsa. Lets just say i will never go to this place again..Me and my son ate it up, only to immediately start feelin sick and throwing up for the rest of the night..After the fact my son said he thought beans tasted off...We been here countlesd times...first time making us ill and will be the last time. Super disappointing as i missed work due to what im pretty sure was food poisoning. 40 bucks in food ended up costing me a day in bed crying and 100 bucks in wages lost. read more

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE First off the restaurant is spotless, family owned everyone is very nice and welcoming. Went on a Tuesday at about 6:30pm for dinner turns out they have an all you can eat buffet. Not only that but it was also a TACO TUESDAY buffet. Let me just tell you the buffet area was so clean and everything tasted so fresh and good. Went again on Thursday and to actually order a meal && I fell in love all over again. I ordered a Seafood Parrillada. Feeds 3, but it was so good I didn't even want to share. Okay, we stopped here after our favorite place up north was closed. This place is even better. Right off the I-5. Easy off, easy on. BTW, we found this place on yelp. Excellent!! I had the chicken and steak molacete (I know that's not how it's spelled) and it was incredible. Hubby had the chili Verdi chimichanga burrito and couldn't compliment it enough. Super friendly owners and staff. Exceptionally generous portion-sizes: consider sharing. Casual place, very reasonably priced (except the guacamole when avocado prices have skyrocketed). Some good vegetarian / vegan options. Excellent house-made chips, a range of really tasty (and some good and spicy) salsas in their salsa bar. Unnecessary TV played distracting commercials and sports no one seemed to be watching. You know a place is good when the kitchen staff is having a good time. This restaurant was recommended to us last August (2022) by the clerk at a local hotel when we stayed in Red Bluff on our trip from L.A. to Seattle. What a great recommendation! Today (8/3/2023) we passed Red Bluff again on the same trip, so we had to stop and enjoy this restaurant once again. The food is very authentic and delicious! The beans and shredded beef are SO good! The staff is very nice and the food was served quickly at a perfect temperature. I loved the Fiesta Salad with shredded beef, and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his 3-item combination plate (enchilada, taquitos, and tostada). The salsa was delicious too. Just the right amount of spice. I'd highly recommend this restaurant. It really is some of the best Mexican food we've had (even coming from L.A.). read more

So we went in before graduation we showed up at 6:45 graduation was at 7:30 expecting to be served in like 15 minutes we ordered our food right away got a couple of drinks 727 the food still had not arrived I had specifically said no guacamole so when I got home after they packaged my food up to go and charged me almost $50 for our food that we waited almost 45 minutes for and couldn't eat in the restaurant I got home at 10:45 and realized they had put guacamole on my food I'm highly allergic to avocados so I could not eat the food even if I'd wanted to. However I did speak to the owner the next day and he offered to refund my money the next time I'm in red bluff so the customer service is good anyway. read more

Cute, casual laid back Mexican diner that you'd see on an episode of diners drive in and dives. This place exudes guy fieri charm, though I don't particularly enjoy his show but I can imagine him coming here and enjoying the food. This is a nice little roadside diner in the downtown area of a small town in the middle of nowhere. We were on our way back from Redding and Red Bluff was a city on our way home with the most civilization. We decided to stop here because of the Yelp reviews, and so glad we did The food portions here are ginormous. The rice and beans are comforting and on point. The quesadilla was delicious and more than enough food for the next day. Lots of cheeses. The fajitas were also very tasty. Everything here was quite nice and the restaurant was a nice stop. From Red Bluff, CA to Mexico is only 650 miles to the south. You can get some pretty tasty Mexican food without the drive. Los Mariachis is good Mexican Food in Red Bluff. This little restaurant kind of has two faces. The older section of the restaurant is slightly divey, with old style booths covered with vinyl, and a narrow walk way to a small back dining room. The new remodeled side of the restaurant is very clean, stylish, and decorated nicely. I don't know about you, but for me two things are important when eating out: 1. Food (Quality/taste) 2. Service. Los Mariachis does well on both counts. I have to admit that I am spoiled from growing up in the Bay Area, where A+ Mexican Food is everywhere. This place will not disappoint. Lets start with the Chips and Salsa. They are both fresh and great. The soda is Coke Products (plus), plenty of Mexican Cerveza's, from Corona to Negro Modelo. The food is very good here, brought to your table good and hot. If you like spicy hot, order some Diablo Sauce on the side. I usually order the Enchiladas and Taco Combo with rice and beans. Made a quick stop here on our way through, heading home to WA. My husband and I were really wanting one more authentic burrito before we got home, and Los Mariachis definitely did not disappoint. Authentic restaurant style chips and salsa were served warm to our table upon being seated. We both ordered a burrito with carne asada, each coming with beans and rice on the side. Portions are huge, the plate alone was the size of a bike wheel. Eating the macho burrito, I soon realized my eyes were much bigger than my stomach as only several bites in and a to-go box was necessary. The macho burrito is stuffed to the gills with your choice of meat, rice, beans, guacamole, pico de Gallo, and smothered in chile rellenós sauce and topped with cotija cheese, sour cream, and shredded lettuce. All that for only $9.99 is a steal of a deal! The service is prompt and inviting, not once leaving us wanting for anything. The atmosphere was warm and the decor resembled an authentic Mexican diner. I was so torn between 2 and 4 stars. The food is 4 stars, however reviews aren't based on food alone. So on a recent road trip with my sister, we decided to stay in Red Bluff. Upon checking in, we were hungry and asked the front desk person were there any vegetarian friendly restaurants nearby. He immediately recommended Los Mariachi and after yelping this place out, we agreed to go here for dinner. My sister, who is a strict vegetarian, even called the restaurant first, just to verify that their 'vegetarian menu' was actually vegetarian. The lady who answered said yes, that they had many vegetarian dishes that had no animal anything in them. So imagine our surprise when after getting there, sitting down and talking to the very nice waitress, that NONE of their dishes were actually vegetarian. They use a chicken base for almost all of their food. Including their 'vegetarian rice', 'vegetarian enchilada sauce' and 'vegetarian chili relleno'. This was very upsetting, but rather than try and find somewhere else to eat, my sister decided to just order the only thing she could, a cheese quesadilla = ( . Now a lot of yelpers had talked about this places chili rellenos, so that's what I was planning on ordering. However the sauce that covered them was made using a chicken base as well as the rice that came with it. When I'm with my sister I always attempt to order food her and I can both share. So in order for my sister to be able to try it, I had to order the chili relleno with the sauce and rice on the side and with whole beans (its why the adjoining pic looks so weird). After the very difficult and disappointing ordering process, we get our food and I have to say the portions are large and the food was pretty darn yummy. My sister thought the food was just eh, but that's because she really didn't get to try anything as it was meant to be served. So yes this places food was good, especially for the price, however the fact that this place has a 'vegetarian menu' that isn't really vegetarian, upsets and irks me. This restaurant is easy to find on the corner of Main St. Tried it while passing through town. Interior was nice with very pretty and colorful bar area. Chose this place because of location, previous good reviews and because the offer ground beef as a meat choice, which is not available at many Mexican restaurants. Tried tacos, enchiladas and quesadillas. Combo was served with rice and beans. Rice was a nice texture, not too wet. Both rice and beans were tasty. Crispy ground beef tacos had a nice amount of shredded lettuce and tomatoes, nice presentation. The ground beef enchilada was delicious and the red sauce was very tasty. I didn't eat the quesadillas but understand they were delicious as well. The staff was friendly, service was quick. I took the order to go and thought the containers were especially nice, not the usual styrofoam. I would definitely eat here again when in Red Bluff. read more

Mexican food that rivals anything I've found in the Bay Area, with prices that are about a third lower and service that's about a third friendlier made this a great first stop on a road trip up north. I started with a bowl of vegetable soup ($5). This was a very large portion, with a ton of chunky veggies, and I wasn't able to finish it. Prompted by a couple of other reviews here, I also had a carnitas burrito ($4). This was huge as well, and was filled with about a half-pound of meat with guac and pico (no rice or beans). The carnitas was very good, as expected, though I probably wouldn't order it again since it was slightly on the greasy and salty side (it's carnitas, after all...). The waitresses at this diner-style restaurant were exceedingly friendly and attentive. There isn't a huge selection of cuisines in Red Bluff, and one of the more enticing was Mexican at Los Mariachis. However, I would say that Los Mariachis delivers quantity over quality overall. I'm a taco gal but deviated this once, and regretted it. I got the grande (because it included guac) chicken burrito. The burrito was gargantuan, probably enough food for four people. Unfortunately, that was it's only positive quality. The large size partially contributed to the overall mushiness and lack of texture, from the chewy tortilla outside to the mix ingredients swimming within. The refried beans on the side were pretty good though. I would get tacos (two max per person, as they're also huge) if you have to stop here, as they're simpler and probably more difficult to get wrong. read more

Fun story... after spending most of the day purchasing a vehicle, we offered to buy our salesperson lunch as a "thank you" for his help. Without hesitation, he asked for 2 ground beef enchiladas from Los Mariachis... the aroma was too hard to resist, that we made a second trip back to the restaurant to order dinner for ourselves. We were blown away by the friendly hospitality, the delicious house margarita and the triple item platter (including the ground beef enchiladas, taquitos and a beef tamale)... so gooooood! It hasn't even been a week and I'm craving more! With Covid, we're forced to order to-go... but I'm looking forward to dining in. If you want authentic Mexican food in Red Bluff you NEED to make a stop at Los Mariachis!! I tried the Molcajete for the first time and was amazed. I had never had it and I wish I could have it at every Mexican restaurant!!!! The flavor was amazing and everything was fresh. Definitely not like other restaurants where you know the proteins were pre-made hours earlier. The staff was friendly and very quick.
