My son and I ordered takeout from Los Mayas tonight. The food was amazing! I ordered the Street Tacos (4 tacos) combo with rice and beans. I chose the Carne Asada and Al Pastor for my meat. My son got Arroz con Pollo and he had his meal half eaten before I could get a picture of it. He really enjoyed his meal and said that this is the best Mexican food that he has eaten in a while. We ordered online and our order was ready in 20 minutes. When I arrived the lady at the reception desk gave me my order and I was out the door in a minute. The food at Los Mayas is excellent. Everything is hot and fresh. The only issue is that the service is not that good. Our waitress checked on us once then proceeded to eat her lunch with another server and I had to get my own "to-go" container because I couldn't get her attention. I asked for 2 small plates which she never brought us. IDK if she's inexperienced or just young, but the wait staff should be taught that they need to be attentive especially if they want to be tipped well. read more

Not a planned visit, just a spot on our route. Sunday afternoon for late lunch. Had white queso and chips, bean dip and chicken quesadillas. Everything was fresh and yummy but the chicken in quesadillas seemed like doctored up canned chicken. Service was fast and friendly. Ambiance is typical for Mexican restaurant, with music playing and decor. The logo for the restaurant is on everything from chairs to wall. It was a last minute choice of a restaurant on July 7, 2024 at 1900 hours. We arrived and it had a wait of about twenty minutes. The good news was that it was about a twenty minute wait. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We ordered enchiladas, tamales, fajitas, a glass of Pinot Noir and a chimichanga.The food was tasty but I have had better Mexican Food. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was quite nice. The waiting staff was friendly, but they needed a few more people on staff for the busy evening shift. The down side of the restaurant was that you had to pay extra for salsa $1.98 for two small cups. That is simply cheap, I am not accustomed to paying extra for salsa. I would really like to give this restaurant another try especially since they are local to us and they haven't been open too long. We went on a friday night for dinner and I do have to say the margaritas were very tasty! My friends and got the house margarita, pomegrante margarita, and peach margarita. I was a lottle disappointed when I received my hawaiian fajita because I had small pieces of chicken and not much of it. I had ordered without the shrimp (due to food allergy) and thought they would substitute more chicken for shrimp especially for the price you are paying for the meal ($19.99). My fiancé ordered the chimichangas and said hers tasted like cinnamon got dumped into her meal accidentally. Then we decided to order the fried ice cream and I have to say it looked bomb! But after trying it, the corn flakes on top tasted very old and stagnant. I could only take a couple bites.. Like I said, we will try this place again and hoping it'll be better. read more

Great quick service. Priced reasonably with a nice atmosphere. Nothing fancy...but nice and clean. The Shrimp Cocktail...Which is actually a dinner is fantastic. The big downer was the lack of ambiance. It was a breakfast place and still has that same vibe. The huge TV in the "dining area" with all the bright lights, the open spaces, with no feel of defined dining area really takes away from its potential. The bar is directly in the dining area, so it's definitely not good for a girls night out, date night, etc. Mixing drinking and such, directly with littles and families is not fun for anyone. There are some beautiful, tables and chairs, which are typical to the Mexican restaurants in the area. For the money, flavor and atmosphere, I would travel a few miles down the road, in either direction, for Mexican. read more

Our first and last dinner here- Besides the horrible food ( the worst Mexican we ever had)the non- communication was horrific. Nothing was explained to us. I ordered a beer and got a extra large 24 oz beer and had it sent back for a standard size beer. My wife ask if she could have black beans instead of regular beans and recieved a side order in which they charged us for. We were ask if we wanted more chips and we said yes and then we got an another charge for that on the bill. NEVER AGAIN. We had dinner there tonite. The restaurant was so cold we could not enjoy our meal. The pollo asada had great flavor, but the accompanying rice was lukewarm and quickly chilled to cold. We had driven by several times and finally stopped recently. The inside is decorated very nice and we got excellent service. I had fajitas that were delicious. My husband got a seafood burrito and said it was very good too. We enjoyed our meal and took leftovers home for the next day. Prices were reasonable and we will definitely be back again. Our party had the perfectly crisped carnitas, the carna asada, the huge chile relleno and the cheese enchiladas topped with carnitas and every single dish was awesome. Great margaritas too. We are Mexican food afficionados (from AZ) and the food at this restaurant is nearly as good as there. The meals we ordered were very delicious, but just an FYI, this is Americanized Mexican food- some traces of the influences of Mexico - but not a 100% traditional Mexican restaurant. That does not make this restaurant experience bad, it was not. Very nice places inside to relax and enjoy a very good atmosphere - but if looking for off the street or Colonia food in Mexico City, this again is a replica of Tex Mex/American influences of Mexican food- important to keep that in mind. read more
