Back again at Raices Latin Kitchen, this time for lunch. Had the arrachera tacos, hands down best taco I can ever remember having!! Tender steak, grilled cheese melted into perfect warm soft shells, topped with slices of ripe avocado and grilled onions. I'm still thinking about it. Server/bartender was spot on. Always a pleasure there, the staff is so welcoming and the food a level above most places. Inside is colorful, clean and comfortable. Go get you some of that!! read more

I think the food and the ambiance here are pretty good. We came for Happy Hour and Masa Monday which offered discounts. Upon arrival I asked about their happy hour menu. They don't have a menu but it's $1 off beers and $3 off certain drinks. Masa Mondays offers $3 off certain dishes including papusas and empanadas. I couldn't find empanadas on the menu. We ordered the mofongo based on the great reviews and wanting to try something different. We also got the Papusa, a hibiscus drink and a margarita. Overall the food was good. The mofongo is heavy - so it's best eaten shared with something on the lighter side. The Mofongo comes with a topping of beef or shrimp. Our waiter didn't ask our preference so I thought maybe it comes with both. Later we heard another waiter ask the customer if they wanted beef or shrimp. We were given beef and that was fine but it would have been nice to have a choice! The disappointment came in the service. The waiter was unaware of happy hour or the Masa Monday discount. We asked about Happy Hour on arrival. Upon receiving the bill we had to ask for an adjustment. Then the bill came back and the Papusa (a $10 dish) was charged at $12 with a $3 discount. At this point I was tired of asking so we just let it go. To the owners - don't advertise discounts and then try to avoid them or not train your staff about them. Will not come back for that reason. What a fantastic place! Stopped in last night for dinner and drinks. From the outside it doesn't look like much. Inside it was filled with large families enjoying their dinner. Ordered the Lychee Martini-Excellent!! Had the chips and salsa, complimentary. Salsa fresh and delish. Ordered the Pollo Chicken dish. It had a delicious green sauce. Came with rice and beans. One of the best dishes I ever had! The beans were unbelievable! Friend ordered the Burria ? Burrito it was also fantastic! Service was excellent! Will definitely go back!! Highly recommend. Enjoyed a wonderful happy hour lunch/early dinner with my best friend on a Monday afternoon. Our server was prompt and friendly and also was our bartender. The space was colorfully decorated and extremely inviting. They had fun music playing, but not too loudly. There is a ton of seating space and we were one of only two or three parties in there at the time. Everything came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. Now, I only have been once and I only tried one dish . . . but I was impressed. The service was good. I was there for a late lunch so it wasn't busy. My server quickly took my order and made suggestions. I opted for the mofongo ($18): "Puerto Rican-style baked and mashed green plantains stuffed with crispy pork, topped with shrimp or steak & our homemade mofongo sauce." While I waited for my food, I happily snacked on the chips and salsa. Not spicy. Pretty average. Good portion. I did not get a cocktail, but for $10-15 you can pick from an interesting selection of mixed drinks. They also have beer and wine. The mofongo was very good. My server recommended the shrimp variation which was tasty. The servine was a decent size and I was actually able to eat the leftovers for a light dinner. (It was so tasty I admit to sneaking several bites from the fridge between lunch and dinner.) The only thing I would change it to increase the garlic in the sauce, but that's probably just a personal preference. I asked for hot sauce and the creamy one was off the charts good. I asked about it and he said it was their habanero sauce. I like spicy food so I gave my leftovers a nice drizzle of the habanero sauce before closing the lid. Overall, really good food. I want to try more of their Latin dishes. I will definitely return. read more

Wow! What a great find! The food was really good! I wanted to try something new and different so I asked for a recommendation and I ended up getting the Platano Relleno. Not only was it delicious but it was an also very big portion. For dessert we had the corn cheesecake with cheese ice cream and it was very good too! First time visiting but won't be our last. Six of us went, the 4 people who got Tex mex were not as impressed as the 2 who ordered a little different Latin food, although all said they'd return. Service was friendly and laid back , nice and leisurely. We made reservations, good thing cause it was busy ! I had a Latin shrimp dish, 3 cheeses, and it was amazing. Perfectly cooked, and very light, not heavy at all. It came with a side salad that was large and delicious. A friend had enchiladas in mole sauce, hard to find here and amazing as well. The others had fajitas and things like that , they were ok, but not as good as our favorite Mexican restaurant. After 4 visits, they haven't served me anything I didn't think was absolutely delicious. Handhelds (Sopes and Pupusas) are wonderful, with flavorful fillings that aren't overcooked. Mofongo is also exceptional, and they are able to cook seafood PROPERLY - shrimp are tender and done right. Even the sauces and seasonings are all spot-on, right down to the salsa that's delivered to the table when you arrive. As a whole, the menu has a mix of traditional Latin foods with some tex-mex thrown in. Quesabirria tacos are well prepared, with a flavorful consume I wanted to drink down. The hidden gem on the menu is a side order of onions and nopales - and it's proof that the kitchen knows what they're doing. Nopales can be slimy, but these are NOT. They have a great bite to them, and wonderfully seasoned - I could eat that stuff by the bowl full, they're that good. Service is friendly and helpful (if a tad bit distracted at times), and the atmosphere is pleasant and strikes the right balance between kitsch and grill. Ignore any of the poor reviews - check the dates - they're all from 4 years ago or more. In addition, don't go by the menu they post online as it's severely out of date. read more

I was in the mood for good Mexican food and yelp lead me to Raices Latin kitchen. The food was super fresh, well seasoned and flavorful. We shared 3 tacos "carne asada" and beef fajitas. The carne asada meat was little over cooked but still flavorful. I prefer chunky salsa to dip my nachos in , their salsa was more soupy and runny . Went here this past weekend and the ambiance was chill. They advertise all the specials they have through the week on flat screen TV's. We didn't wait long to order. It took Very long to come out and she basically has finished her tacos. We were told a few times that it was coming out. My tostones were very thin and not made right. What a fantastic find. We were off 113 looking for a good place to eat and we found this beautiful and incredible place less than a mile from 113. The restaurant is super clean and inviting. We were greeted by Steffan (Venezuelan) who was professional, knowledgeable about the menu and very pleasant. He brought chips and salsa, soooo good! We ordered beef tacos for the hubby and the shrimp cocktail for me. We looked at each other after our first bite. Best ever! Food soooo delicious! Spectacular flavors abound from this kitchen. The inside is larger than I expected, as well as super clean and bright, with attentive servers. The menu is extensive and covers a variety of different kinds of dishes from different Spanish speaking countries. Our first time here, we ordered a ground beef burrito, shrimp and crab quesadilla, and the Mariscada (seafood stew). The burrito was "the best I've ever eaten ", and my Mariscada came out boiling hot, aromatic and simply brimming with delicious seafood. The quesadilla was good (but I was told not as good as another establishment in Rehoboth). I ordered the Mango Mojito, which was a perfect combination of flavors, and packed full with fresh mint. My husband and I, along with 3 of our friends had the best dinner last night at Raices in Millsboro. Our server was Lola who was so helpful, so cheerful, so lovely throughout the evening.
