    Macha Breakfast Plate

I enjoyed a great breakfast plate of Machaca from this Mexican eatery in Casa de Oro, located in Spring Valley. It use to be La Baja Mexican Grill, and has been rebranded as "Los Mexas." The machaca breakfast plate came with rice, beans, and four corn tortillas for $11.99 plus tax. It was a large portion of machaca and it was very tasty. The stewed shredded beef was well seasoned. The eggs were scrambled into the beef and I could not help my self to making breakfast tacos. I tried a trio of hot sauces and they were all very good. I liked the dark red one the best It had good heat and favor. The rice and beans were good, too but were more subtle in flavor. The beans were light in seasoning and the rice was just right. The service was good. It was a one man team when I came in the morning, but the young man made it work. He was friendly, efficient, and check on me to make sure I enjoyed the food. The place offers a bar as well with plenty of inside seating, but no outside seating.

When I came in during a weekday, I will admit, it was empty. However, ordering was so simple and very quick! They have a nice open bar on the left side when you walk in, which looks like it would be completely full when there's a game on! I was pleasantly happy when I talked with the guy at the front because when I picked up my food, he asked if it was my first time there. I confirmed and had said that I heard great things about this place - which was true, especially just by looking at the reviews! Because of this, the cashier gave me one of the desserts as complimentary! It was delicious - almost like a churro but in chip form! I ordered the adobada and birria tacos as well as the cheese quesadilla! The adobada tacos were pretty good - I've been trying to find something similar to the ones at tacos el gordo, and can say that they're a bit similar especially with the sauce it has on top. Birria tacos were pretty good according to my dad - they were very filling and the birria sauce to dip the tacos in was pretty flavorful! Cheese quesadilla was just as simple as they can be, nothing really to rave for with this one. Overall, I would come back and maybe try some of the other popular items I see on this page! :)

Ordered the machaca breakfast burrito and it was delicious! I love coming here for their burritos. I found this place randomly and i'm so glad I decided to give it a try. My boyfriend had their machaca burrito as well and he enjoyed it along with their salsa selections. I also tried something new on my most recent visit which was the menudo soup. I loved the meat, but the soup wasn't so flavorful in my opinion. The restaurant is spacious and always plenty of seating when i've come by. The service could be a little better in terms of being more welcoming as you walk in though. Overall, great breakfast burrito joint!

    Fish taco

The fish taco was amazing. Very delicious and fresh tasting from the sauce and the cabbage. The fish had a nice crunch and neutral taste. I enjoyed the flavor of the 3 fresh house salsas. The green one was savory, the red was a savory spicy, and the orange one for an acidic spice. We also got the adobada burrito. It was huge for just $11.99! Meat, guacamole, onions, (and cilantro). No extra fillers. The adobada was nicely charred and sweet. It reminded me a bit of char siu compared to other places I've had adobada. We only interacted with our cashier during our time there, and he was friendly and helpful. The dining area and restroom were both very clean and there are a lot of open tables for seating. The prices here are great and you get a lot in return. The taco is $4.99 on regular days, but only $1.50 on Tuesdays. I'll be coming back to take advantage of that and trying more of their meats.

If you like tacos, come here period exclamation point period. Had a trio (carne, carnitas, adobada) my first time. Incredible. Couldn't decide which was best. They bring you a trio of these little house made hot sauce bottles that are each some of the best sauces I've ever had. Second time I got all adobada ($1.50 special, I'm cheap‍), top 5 I've ever had. Today I got a fish and again it was one of the best fish tacos I've ever had. The staff is SUPER friendly and hospitable. Trust me, just come in and get a taco, doesn't matter which one, you will buy another immediately.

Great local business. Staff is super friendly. The adobada, birria, and pollo asada are on-point! Not listed on the menu board, but you can get 3 street tacos for $8.50. Great deal. Breakfast burritos are huge. Nice little dining area for lunch!

Food is delicious. Service is great, great ambience. I've tried almost everything here, from menudo, caldo de res, roll tacos, carne asada fries, burritos, fajitas, you name it, I've tried it. Micheladas, amazing! You cannot go wrong with this place. You will love it. I guarantee it.

Great spot! The inside is really nice and inviting. We didn't try any drinks this time, but the bar area looked great--perfect setup with TVs for watching sports. The food was excellent! We had a carne asada burrito and a bean & cheese burrito--both were delicious, super generous portions, and the prices were very reasonable. Loved that it came with chips and salsa too. Definitely want to come back for Taco Tuesday!

Really great little gem. Nice interior, delicious food, even a fun little bar with good prices and frozen beer mugs. Staff were friendly and inviting. Good salsa and hot sauces.

I have said this before. Being in Southern San Diego we are just spoiled when it comes to Mexican…read morecuisine. We have so many taco shops in the area. So many that they even outnumber 7-11's. So we have a lot of options. Rambertos is a taco shop that has been in the Spring Valley area very early on. It has lasted the test of time. Since then years later, a Jack In The Box was built next to it and after that just recently a Yoshinoya on the other side. One of the reasons Rambertos has lasted so long is the consistent tasting food. The quality control is very good. Right now it's my family's go to taco shop. With a large menu, there are a lot of choices to pick from. Burritos, tacos, enchiladas, tostadas, sopas and carne asada nachos are among the things you can order. Early morning to late night; you don't even have to leave your car. Just use the drive thru window. With so many taco shops around. What makes Rambertos so special? Well first they have been here for years. So they have to be doing something right. With so many changes all around. Rambertos still remains a constant. Secondly, the taco shop serves some of the best Mexican cuisine in the Valley. Thirdly, with everything from gas to groceries. Everything is expensive. Rambertos is affordable and won't break the bank. So support local businesses especially the good ones. Rambertos is exceptional.

That is expensive. I usually pay about $30 when I do Delivery. But this was a big disappointment. Not sure that I'll frequent this Taco shop in the future. In addition, they charged me for using my debit card. I don't think that's legal. I know they charge you for credit, but not debit. The lady at the window was kind and courteous. But I can't see myself spending $30 for a Casa burrito.

I tend to gravitate towards the rolled tacos with everything on them ... it's not guacamole that…read morethey put on it it's more so "American Guacamole" which is a mixture of a lot of sour cream with some guacamole to give a slight flavor of guacamole. I love it as I'm more so a sour cream fan. The rolled tacos or taquitos whatever it is that you want to call them, to me, they are always seasoned with beef and I love the thin tortilla rolled around it. On Tuesday you can get a combination plate for at a discount rate served with beans and rice. The California burrito is made with hash browns, meat, cheese and pico and I believe it's supposed to come with sour cream. This burrito, to me, is better than the ones within my immediate area which is why I'll make the short drive to this joint!!! Their regular Carna Asada burrito has guacamole & it's delicious. They don't except credit cards so bring cash. They have an ATM machine inside but of course you're gonna have surcharge fees from your banks. If you need something else, like cash then go to 7-Eleven they also have ATMs. They don't offer restrooms for customers but they do have a station where you can wash your hands.
