We dined in and really enjoyed getting served on plates, we ordered the bbq mix plate so we could try everything, kalua pork, and spam musubis. Good portions and honestly would probably order for take home. There are plenty of options for those with big appetites, and little appetites. This shop is very cute, lots of decor, staff are very friendly and welcoming. I ordered the katsu plate and a spam musubi. They do give you a generous helping of food on the mixed plate as well. The good: flavoring on the galbi was good, the katsu had a good crunch to it. Mac salad was flavorful as well. The ehh: the teriyaki beef was dry, and the musubi had way too much rice:spam ratio. Korean chicken was recommended on social media and well explained as a great choice by an employee. The teriyaki chicken was amazing from the first bite. It was cooked perfect and not too many fatty pieces which I appreciated. I also appreciated they had extra teriyaki sauce on the side that is stored warmed on the side. The spam masubi was a 10/10. We also ordered the garlic shrimp plate and malasadas. The beef teriyaki was soft and flavorful, the garlic shrimp was good but would be better if the shrimp were larger. Hands down if I were to come back, I would go straight to ordering the short ribs. That was the best from what I tasted. The malasadas were also a favorite. I recently tried Dalu Hawaiian Barbecue and it did not disappoint! We ordered the musubi trio, chicken and beef plates, and the three-meat combo--everything was prepared fresh and full of flavor. I was in the area and Yelp showed good reviews of this place so I stopped by for lunch. It has a fun atmosphere with paintings on the walls and a separate tiki bar area. The staff also extended a warm getting as soon as I stepped in. I definitely appreciate the menu, filled with all the things I enjoy and the portion sizes are very generous. Considering I got a mini plate, it seemed more like a large plate and had some leftovers to take home. For the price, it was quite a lot of food and satisfied my comfort food craving. I've tried a few BBQ places around San Diego and I've only had one so far I liked and that one was at the Hillcrest Farmers Market and that's, Island Life Foods. Very nice young lady asked for our order and was accommodating with our questions I got the Aloha mix which is a mix of chicken, beef and pork chop. The meats all tasted good. They all did have a sticky sweet caramelized sauce on them. The only one I didn't really care for was the pork chop because it was too well done. It was a bit stiff and dry. The rest of the dish was delicious. I love the cabbage at the bottom of the meat and the Mac salad was also creamy and the pasta done right. I hate mushy pasta. The rice was also done right, sticky and cooked through. My grandson got the katsu chicken kids plate and his chicken was super crispy and it came with a side of crinkle fries. I also ordered the Spam Musubi . The Spam browned and served tightly on a bed of sticky rice and wrapped in the seaweed wrapper. I loved it. I've been wanting to try this new Hawaiian BBQ place in Rancho Sandiego. I had the Kalua Pork spinach wrap that came with a generous amount of shredded pork, some white rice, lettuce, tomatoes, and a side of creamy chipotle sauce. The pork was tender and quite tasty but a little heavy on the salt. They put a very good amount of the pork inside the wrap. I definitely appreciated that there was more pork than rice. We ordered a mini plate of teriyaki ribs, a regular plate of Korean BBQ chicken, a 5 piece or lumping, musubi, an order of Malasadas ,and a cheesecake.
