Our family decided to visit after reading a previous yelp review. It's very simple and understated inside, but the staff is kind and friendly and the food is delicious. Portions were appropriate, with some being a little bigger than others. It's nothing fancy, but the food is good!

I'm from California and eat a lot of Mexican food which I consider the best I'd ever had until today. Los Patrones is a quaint little restaurant, nothing fancy but it's extremely clean. The food here was excellent and the service was Great. If you're looking for Mexican food I'd definitely recommend Los Patrones,

Clean, reasonably priced, and delicious food! Breakfast ends at 11. We were a tad disappointed but only till we received our lunch! We had the beef fajita tacos on flour - delicious! Great flavor and big chunks of meat. We shared snd were full. The small queso and guacamole aren't tiny. We had more than enough for two. Loved the thin, homemade flour tortillas! Guacamole was freshly made. Chips were toasted and the salsa verde was awesome but too spicy for me. We had tea and water but saw some huge micheladas being served on our way out. We'll go again for breakfast. Very clean, bright and inviting. Annie was one of our two waitresses, both impeccable with timing and refills on tea, water & chips. Go see them!

Great hole in the wall place! I'm pretty sure they have the BEST salsa around. Very impressed! The green sauce and queso were also delicious but the salsa will rock your socks off. I tried a few different things getting the combo plate; tacos, enchilada, rice beans. Everything was tasty. The margs were excellent, especially for $3 at happy hour! Our server Jake was also a top tier item to mention. He was so helpful, so friendly, and perfectly attentive. My only gripe would be the lighting which is silly but hey, could be better! Fluorescent lights are never wanted. Looking forward to future meals here!

First timer- the place was empty but very clean and we were greeted immediately by a very nice young lady. We ordered tortas and a gordita to go; chips and also were included. Everything is fairly priced and the food was delicious! The salsas and the food were very well seasoned- wish we had tried more items! Definitely your go to for Mexican food!

Wow is this food delicious! If you're on the island, stop by for some insanely flavorful and authentic Mexican food. Can't go wrong with shredded chicken tacos or any of the many variety of enchiladas. The chipotle fajitas are highly recommended as well! The chips, salsa and queso were great! Salsa was too spicy for my kids but they devoured the queso (and provided entertainment for others in the restaurant haha). Margaritas are wine based, but decent. Next time I'll order a $2 beer for happy hour. Margs are $3 - so cheap! Don't judge a book by it's cover. Go inside, ignore the sketchy shopping center exterior. The food is worth it! The customer service is also wonderful- the waitresses were hustling and providing great care.

We ordered from Door Dash 2 times recently over the summer, and we have loved everything we have tried. Everything is packed with care, like the extra sauces and guacamole, etc. The food arrives hot even delivered. They use high quality ingredients - the meats & cheeses, and even the pico de gallo is superb. We kept raving about how everything tasted delicious. I thought their mixed (half chicken and half beef) quesadillas were my favorite until I tried the beef fajita chimichanga. Have not had one in years, but something made me want to try it -- and it was just so fresh and not greasy at all -- plus stuffed full of goodness. Their queso - you choose what you want in top of chimichanga - was a great touch and they sent both red and green salsa too. We also thought the sides of rice and beans were amazing too. We definitely are putting this on our list of favorite local eateries !

I had dinner here last week for the first time. Yelp had the location on the other side of the street. The restaurant is actually on the north side of Broadway (Gulf side). They have their own parking lot in front and inside it's just one dining room. I was going to get the fajitas but they weren't serving any onions due to the recent nationwide salmonella scare so instead I ordered the shrimp kisses entree for $16. First to arrive were the chips and salsa. The salsa was kind of thick and taste wise it wasn't my favorite. I ate just a few chips and then stopped. A few minutes later the entree arrived. The kisses are grilled shrimp that are wrapped in bacon and stuffed with jalapeños and cheese. Along with it came rice, charro beans and pico with corn tortillas. No guac due to no onions being available. Again taste wise the shrimps were just ok. The shrimps were large enough and the bacon flavor was there but I still really didn't care for them. I did miss not having the guac too. My table service was good. This is a family owned and run business and I realize that Yelp scores are much higher but I can only give a 3 overall. I wouldn't mind returning but would try something else. Another negative for me was the salsa. Just not my style.

We stopped for breakfast on our way out of town. We were beyond delighted by the amazing service and delicious food. Everything we had was good from the coffee to the amazing breakfast. We saw this restaurant on Yelp, reviewed the menu and decided to have dinner there last night. We were the only customers in the place when we walked in just before 6:30 and we weren't sure if it was because it was early or if the food was questionable. I saw a sign that said happy hour was until 7pm and I also saw that they have been in business since 1975 so that told us they must be doing something right. Husband ordered the beef fajitas and I wanted something different than enchiladas. I ordered the Filet Cancun which was tilapia with shrimp. My husband's fajitas came out first then a couple minutes later out came my huge platter of fish, rice and boracho beans. OMG it was scrumptious but it was unfortunate that I filled up on the chips and queso. I ate as much as I could and took the rest back to hotel. Highly recommend this (what I lovingly call) a "hole in the wall" place. So good and attentive, friendly service. read more

This is a brand new family owned business. Mom does all the food prep. All of the salsas are homemade. dad is back in the kitchen cooking with extreme pride. And their son is the waiter. Love that the dad comes out after the meal is presented to make sure everything is perfect. read more

I can say the food was really good, service was terrible, it was ran by two kids who has no knowledge waiting tables. The guy who was taking care of us seemed to be not all there like if he was on something. The girl who worked there was giving attitude about my ticket when I just asked a simple question about a charge on my receipt, she was throwing things and getting in our faces with the menu and started to yell at my sister at the counter. Been eating here on the regular for awhile now. Why? Always solid food, great service, decent atmosphere. Family owned and operated(my favorite). Menu is good sized with plenty of options for everyone. LP continues to grow in popularity for all the reasons I've stated. Just do yourself, family, friends and just eat here. Finally made it to dine in and try the Enchiladas Poblano. They are amazing. Creamy, flavorful, sauce which wasn't too heavy. Tender chunks of chicken. A real treat. The borracho beans were bacony and delicious. The rice was even good and I'm not a fan of rice! The red salsa is perfect and the slightly spicy green salsa is the stuff dreams are made of. Ricardo and his family and staff are extremely welcoming and the place is immaculately clean. I highly recommend visiting and supporting this local business. read more

This place is very unassuming from the exterior. Alas, the reviews did not steer us wrong. The inside is very homey and inviting and the staff were welcoming. The chips and salsa were outstanding--especially the salsa. Not every place gets salsa right but this one was on point. For my entree, I usually try to err on the side of something not too big because inevitably I will fill up on chips and salsa every.single.time. Upon opening the menu my eyes were immediately drawn to the veggie quesadillas. They were filled with grilled carrots, yellow squash, and zucchini. When the menu listed two quesadillas, I was thinking they would be two small ones. Imagine my surprise when there were two full-sized quesadillas served. Not only was it a steal, it was so flipping delicious! Super fresh and authentic. I would go back just to order that again. Props to Yelp for providing great guidance to find awesome places to eat! This place it the real deal best salsa ever!! We tried this place out on a Saturday for lunch. We walked right in and were told to pick a table. The restaurant is simple but it was very clean and tidy. We ordered queso which was good, the chicken poblano enchiladas and a combination plate. The taco on the combination plate was not soggy with grease but crispy and delicious. The beef enchiladas were delicious. Both plates were very hot-straight from the oven. The salsa and chips were both very good. We will be returning as our go to place for Mexican food. read more

The food was DELICIOUS. I got poblano chicken enchiladas, soooo yummy. Charro beans were hot and flavorful. Hubby got mixed dinner, said everything good. They have beer and wine margaritas. I strongly recommend this place! In my opinion it's the best Mexican food on the island. Especially love the Diablo sauce! It is the best I've ever had!!! Best Mexican food I've ever had. The shrimp was great, not over cooked. The chicken was flavored perfectly and impossibly tender. The guacamole was tasty. The salsa is bright and refreshing, with a little heat. Just a great restaurant overall. read more

The food was average. Not sure what the hype is about. The service was fine at first, then when it came to the check being brought out, me and my table were treated very poorly. We had a young lady start to raise her voice at me when I was asking a question about charges on our bill and started to have an attitude as she threw menus at another table after talking with us. Also, we had a young man that was in training who we had no idea until the end, as it would have been good to know in advance. Not sure what it was about the service tonight. This restaurant needs some better service as these waiters were kids and had no experience of hospitality. I did not feel welcomed, so I will not be coming back. read more

Tiny double stacked corn tortillas to hold the meat that is generously placed in the taco. I ordered barbacoa. I gotta say although the portion of the meats are generous I feel like they don't mix the meat with cachete which is crucial to get a soft meat that melts in your mouth. This meat looked soft but took me quite an uncomfortable amount of time to chew. Kind of like one of my kids who spits out his meat if it is not chewable. The taste was authentic and the salsas a bit on the watery side but its actually spicy as it should be. I did talk to the owner about his setup with all the greenery and he was super nice and was very welcoming. If you do end up here just remember this is a tropical area with mosquitos that thrive here so come prepared. They did have a mosquito repellent available to use which came inn very handy because the mosquitos were definitely feasting. Maybe a fan directed at the tables would help keep the mosquitos away.
