    My granddaughter and good food

Celebrated our only grandchild's college graduation. We chose Los Portales because it's our family's Go To restaurant. Whenever we have visitors, we go there. Ricardo and his staff never fail us. Food was Great (as always). We highly recommend Los Portales. Tell them Joe and Anna sent you !!! Thank You Ricardo and Los Portales employees. We Will Be Back.....

Shrimp wet burrito with cheese, green and red sauces

The first time I went I had Shrimp enchiladas. It was delicious and the beans are very tasty. I came back to try a shrimp burrito with cheese on top red and green sauce. I like the green sauce better than the red. Their red salsas are sweet to me. Not my preference. They did have one hot sauce in the restaurant that I liked. Their chips are fresh. Everything was made to order. Nice and hot! I would eat there again. Very reasonable prices.

Cucumber jalapeño margarita! 100% on point!

Great delicious food and service! We celebrated my birthday today with a party of 5. We were sat immediately and our server, Ashley, took our drink order. Our drinks arrived in a timely manner. Our food was hot and delicious! Again, service was outstanding! Thank you Ashley and staff for a wonderful experience!

I used to eat here regularly about 15 years ago. I ordered a carnitas burrito with a house salad and a strawberry margarita. The wait staff was attentive. As I waited for my food I nibbled on the chips and salsa . The restaurant has good ambience. The food had a good presentation . As I ate my carnitas burrito I noticed the texture of the carnitas as being like shredded beef. At first it was kind of tough but tolerable. I then began to eat pieces that were so tough I hurt my molars. I notified my wait staff of the toughness of the carnitas. She said she would notify the manager. She took the half of burrito left on my plate. I finished my house salad which was good . The salads are topped with cheese with your choice of dressing. I also finished my strawberry margarita which was tasty. I received the check . The management did not reduce my bill due to the burrito meat being too tough to eat. I paid the bill and I left. It's too bad that management did not bother to address the too tough to eat carnitas issue. They used to address any food issue in the past. The restaurant was slow at the time I was there. Management should have done a better job of addressing my issue.

This place never disappoints. Food flavors are consistent and they are very attentive. Great customer service and always smiling. Every time I am in the area its a must when I am in the mood for mexican food. The place is clean n kept up. Ive ordered the albondigas before and those are great. This time I tried to keep it light so i ordered the deep fried snapper a la carte, no sides. Its gone up in price recently around $19. Great fish quality Love this place and love the people there from the employees and the managers/owners. This place makes you feel like family. Will always come back

First time here, recommended by a client. So glad we came! Our server America was super cheerful and attentive and kind. The restaurant has 4 large areas for eating. We were seated in the first one with comfortable green booths. The next one to the right is the bar, and beyond that is the terrace. Great lighting, bright atmosphere, friendly staff. We got up meet the owner, Ricardo, who told us all about the lunch specials and also made us feel very welcome. We ordered the Cadillac margarita and the house lime margarita on the rocks. Both delicious. I ordered one fish taco Ensenada style and one fish taco grilled. The tilapia was fresh and delicious--I like the grilled style even better than battered and deep fried. With the fresh lime on top it was so yummy! My husband ordered the burrito ranchero with shredded beef. It was a generous portion with plenty of sauce. We both liked the salsa that came out at the beginning with the chips so we added more of it to our dishes. All around a great experience. We'll be back!

It's been a while since I last visited this place, but it was just as good as I remembered! I've always appreciated how attentive and friendly the workers are, making sure every customer is well taken care of. Today I ordered the asada plate with shrimp -- a great choice and very reasonably priced. The meat was cooked perfectly: flavorful, juicy, and tender. The beans and rice made excellent sides, both prepared well and full of taste. I went with the flour tortillas, and they were absolutely delicious -- soft, fluffy, and perfect for making tacos. I'm not sure if they're handmade, but they sure taste like it! The chips and salsa were also top-notch -- the salsa had a thick texture and just the right amount of kick, making it hard to stop eating. There's plenty of seating and parking available, which makes dining here even more enjoyable. A special shoutout to the ladies working tonight -- true professionals who made the experience even better!

I love the ambience of this place from the traditional uniforms with Otomi embroidery and a tortilleria. Samantha was out server and she was wonderfully attentive and polite. I ordered a michelada that I called michelicious!! I ordered the burrito with shredded beef that was so tender and deliciously savory. Cannot wait to try other offerings

We wanted to jump back into Yelp and what better than to try a new restaurant we haven't tried yet. Trangs were craving Mexican food so we came across Los Portales in Chino. This place was really good and we will definitely be coming back. They have real authentic Mexican food. First off, there is a lot of parking here. It's very spacious and the staff was extremely nice. We came on a Sunday evening around 5pm and there was no wait. We walked in and were immediately seated. The restaurant is huge compared to the pictures we saw online. It's separated into three large sections. Each section with a modern look. They had cute kids menus with pictures which made it easy for my girls. They kept going back and forth on food and ultimately chose a cheeseburger - HaHa. Husband ordered the chile relleno and chicken enchilada and I ordered the chile verde plate. Everything tasted amazing! We also ordered drinks which were huge and came in a sealed plastic cup so you can take it to go. I honestly thought we were going to spend like $80-$100 because we also had chips and salsa and the drinks but come to my surprise - 4 meals (2 adults and 2 kids), chips and salsa and all separate drinks with tax came to $69 and some change. That to me is amazing! If you're looking for a nice authentic Mexican restaurant to go out to - which is also affordable - I would recommend coming here. The ambiance is nice, the staff is super friendly and the food is great! Can't wait to come back to try something different! Until next time! Thanks for having us! The Trang Family

Went there for lunch with coworkers, no issues while ordering and waitress was attentive and friendly. However, as we're getting ready to leave I spotted a cockroach running across right below our table!

Great local spot. Very extensive menu whether you're there for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. New patio area is bright and airy despite being indoors. Service is fantastic. This restaurant never lets you down.

Came with my best friend for the first time. We were greeted walking in and seated. Samantha took very good care of us and was attentive if we needed anything the entire time. The outfits gave me the sense of culture authenticity. We ordered, our food and it was delicious the music and vibe was on point. We are definitely coming back Thank you Samantha.

Can't go wrong with the lunch specials. My choice Carnita torta so good. It includes a drink. Definitely my favorite

We wondered what would happen if it didn't sell--where would we go? And if it did sell, what if the new owners changed the shop in ways we didn't love? What if we didn't connect with them the way we had with Mary and Jim, who had become family to us? Then it happened, the shop sold. We were introduced to Maria and Veronica, and it was truly love at first meeting. The mushrooms in white wine sauce were flavorless and slimy. We ordered the pan con tomate and it was like they opened a can of tomato paste and spread it on a piece of white bread. We were informed that any entree would take exactly 1 hour to execute. We ordered the Paella Mixta and Filet Mignon. The mussels were overcooked, the shrimp had no seasoning, and it seemed like they weren't really paying attention to executing the dish correctly. The Filet Mignon was not seared at all, super disappointing for it being a $45 dish! The sauce was drowning the meat and the potatoes were way overcooked. I don't usually expect much but this was very disappointing. I think maybe it's time to reevaluate some of your side dishes or have cooks that care about how your food tastes.

The atmosphere is elegant and inviting, making it perfect for a special occasion. We arrived right at opening and were seated immediately without any wait. Our server, Ella, was an absolute delight. She was knowledgeable about the menu, welcoming from the moment we sat down, and attentive throughout the evening without ever being intrusive. We started with the mussels, a favorite dish for my wife and me, and they were exceptional. The broth was so flavorful that we ended up ordering extra bread just to soak up every last bit of the sauce. For my entrée, I ordered the Linguini Fini with artisan pasta, large shrimp, sea scallops, tomatoes, red onions, and garlic cream sauce. The portion was generous, and the flavors were outstanding. It was one of those dishes where every bite was as good as the first, and I happily cleaned my plate. My wife ordered the Long Bone Pork Chop, featuring Beeler's Duroc pork chop, seasonal mostarda, and creamy corn polenta. She had enjoyed it on a previous visit, and it was just as delicious this time around. The pork was cooked perfectly, and the accompaniments complemented it beautifully. My mother-in-law chose the Angus Prime Rib, a Sunday-only special served with au jus, horseradish cream, scalloped potatoes, and charred broccolini. I was lucky enough to try a bite, and it was honestly one of the best prime ribs I've ever tasted tender, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Between the exceptional service, elegant atmosphere, and incredible food, this was a memorable celebration. We'll definitely be back to explore more of the enticing options on the menu. Highly recommended for both special occasions and a great night out.

Went to this cute little place today in Claremont because we were specifically looking for a…read morewoodfired pizza. They've got indoor and outdoor seating and they seemed a touch understaffed for being a beautiful day. It was also a Tuesday lunchtime so maybe they weren't expecting it to be as busy as it was. We were able to prove the menu before we got seated. And our super friendly server came out and we were able to order right away. They've got a lunch special. That is a small personal pizza with a salad and we each got that. Salads came out first and I had the arugula salad, which was absolutely phenomenal. 10 of 10 would eat this every single day. The arugula was peppery and it was well dressed in a lemon vinaigrette type sauce. I am a fan of just plain lemon on mine, but this was delicious. My husband got a union salad, which is their specialty I guess. It's got colored carrots and some beets and some shallots. I thought the dressing was bland and it certainly needed salt and pepper. We asked for both and didn't get either. Our pieces came out and they were nice and woodfired. I feel like they could've been done just a little bit longer maybe a minute or two. The sauce was a lovely fresh type crushed tomato sauce. The cheese was nice and gooey and did not feel or taste like a package of processed cheese. Pepperonis were greasy, but in a real meat kind of way. I had to dab mine, but my husband just went to town on his. The pickled peppers is a pickled jalapeño. Big chunks of them. They certainly didn't skimp on any of the toppings. They were a little sweet and a little hot. Some of the big chunks were a little too sweet for my liking but overall, it was a nice flavor mix Also from a size standpoint, I thought the salad and pizza were very adequate for lunch at around $20 price point I asked for salt and pepper again as well as a side of ranch. This time we did get the salt and pepper as well as cheese and crushed red pepper. But we didn't get the ranch until we were leaving. The server did apologize and said he thought someone else was bringing it out but I pretty much deducted a star because we asked for a couple different things that never came. Overall, the service was super friendly, the ambience was nice for an outdoor lunch thought. I thought the menu looked delicious and there were several things I would like to come back and try and I would go back again.

We decided to try brunch on a Saturday morning. Long story short,…read more I ordered the steak and eggs breakfast. At $38ish, I expected a great meal. It was so underwhelming. 2 eggs cooked differently, one over hard, one over easy, 5-6 potato pieces and the steak was thin, overcooked, and appeared to be a cheap cut of meat. A New York cut would have been great. Wife mentioned norms has better steak and eggs. Called and spoke with a manager Stephanie, not looking for anything, but to express disappointment in the meal for the high price. She offered to mail a gift card for us and invited us back. Took all of my information and never received it. Thanks anyway. Don't think we'll be back.
