This was our first time at Pola's and we had a great experience. The food was very fresh and delicious. We tried the aguachile, camarón tostada, and pescado tostada, and everything was full of flavor and very fresh. The micheladas were so good, and we loved that they keep the beer on ice so it stays super cold when you pour it. That small detail makes a big difference. Came by around 5:45pm on a Friday and had a great experience. Friendly service from the start. You walk up to order at the counter and there is seating inside. The fish was fresh with a crispy batter. After we sat down they brought out limes, mayo, and hot sauce, which was a nice touch since some places are switching to lemons now. The tostada was served nice and cold, which I appreciated. We ordered 3 fish tacos, 1 shrimp taco, a tostada mixta, a fruit punch Jarrito, and a Mineragua. Everything hit the spot. They also have a self serve water station and sell beer, but I skipped alcohol this time. It looks like a family running the place and everyone was super friendly. Been coming here for years, not often but enough. I think almost all the times I've been there the owner has been there. This time it was about 3 or 4 young lady's and a young man. I ordered the regular molcajete, fish taco and 1/2 dozen oysters. The girl who took my order was not very nice. She was having a conversation with another one of the girls. Taco was not worth it. Didn't even get any salsa for it for $7., oysters just came with lime no crackers or tapatio/tabasco $15, then the molcajete? $30 3 tostadas, sm mayo and sm chili. No crackers or extra chili. Ok, I gave them a $3 tip for to go. Most people I know don't leave any. Sad, that around 6 on a Saturday, there was only one table taken with 2 people. Cute spot. They now serve beer. The first time I ate here, I got a shrimp taco, fish, taco, and a side of ceviche, and the ceviche brought me back for a second visit because of how fresh and delicious it was. I came with my friend on Friday, and the guy that helped us, walked us through the menu and was really patient with us, as everything sounded good. I ended up getting the tostadas mixtas aguachiles style, and if you add the mayo as the base, it is truly a 10/10 The restaurant is pretty spacious, and the music was perfect. We found our new post workout grub spot! This place is the bomb if you love seafood! We ordered the Diablitos with seasoned shrimp on top of fries with a side of guacamole n chips and a mango salsa thing, and also ordered the 3 shrimp tacos that came with shrimp ceviche on top of the tacos with a side of aquachiles and tostadas~ $18-22 sizes were big enough to share between two friends. Pola's is great! I work in the same plaza and we get it for lunch on occasion. With seafood you really just don't make it unless you're a top-tier establishment, and they absolute are. Everything is always fresh and flavorful. Price is pretty reasonable considering the ingredients. Portions are deceptively large! They don't look massive at first but it'll take you a while to get through one of these. Hardly ever a significant wait for your food, either, despite the place being pretty popular. Low calorie, high quality--can't recommend the place enough. Go there! read more

We also had the Pola's mix which was just as delicious! The octopus was nice and tender and cooked perfectly. The passion fruit agua fresca was so refreshing. Hands down The Best menudo in the Inland Empire/San Gabriel Vally/East LA areas (that I've tried, and I've tried a lot). Be there early because it sells out. The diablitos are also exquisite. Smiles. What a refreshingly good start. Got the shrimp ceviche + 1 fish taco. Came with 2 different salsas and a white sauce (??) The nice young lady said, "It's mayo, try spreading a little on the tostada and have the ceviche that way. I was skeptical at first, but it worked. Normally, after ~half way through, the acidity starts becoming too much and my mouth gets dry & puckered (esp if I'm getting aguachile). The little bit of mayo completely counteracted that. Very nice. Good flavor to both items, but definitely add the salsa(s) whichever one(s) you like. I liked both. The ceviche came with a sizable dish of limes and I was like, I better taste it as-is first. Too sweet. Squeezed in the limes and it became just right.
