First of all the place has a good look and most everyone is kind,we ended up with a really rude waiter and talked too the manager and he switched us up too a really nice waiter named rodrigo and he was keeping up with everything at our table,the first waiter didn't card anyone for alcahol and was really hot headed and stuck up,but managers are amazing and service in all is a 9 out of 10, payed 11.75 for my food and it was 2 whole plates of food in all I highly recommend this restaurant read more

I was very impressed by the decor and upscale feel to this restaurant. I have been to hundreds of Mexican restaurants in many different cities and the atmosphere and feel of this new location is right up there with some of the very best Mexican places I've visited. I don't know if it's because this restaurant had high ratings and I was just expecting more, but I was very unimpressed. I would give 2.5 stars if I could. To start things off, while they do serve alcohol (which is decently priced), they don't have a bar to sit at. The service was excellent, and the food was plentiful, but it just tasted very low quality. I guess if you're looking for low priced meal and drinks, this would be a good place to go. Love this place. Been there three times and it's always perfect. Great authentic Mexican food. Very patient with us when we end up yapping so much we forget to look at the menu. We hang out for awhile after also and they are very nice. Not trying to run you out the door. Of course tipping good for service like this, is how you keep service like this. Remember that folks! The new building is beautiful. Service is good and the food is great! It does get iffy if you order alcoholic drinks. I ordered a dirty vodka martini, had to explain it, came back with half half vermouth and half vodka with a splash of olive juice. TERRIBLE. The margaritas are good. After a few language issues trying to order, a young lady showed up who understood what all we wanted. They got the order right and the food was very good. The food is good. The staff (other than the lady who seats you) are just plain rude. Some are less rude than others but most act as if you are an inconvenience to them by simply being there. If they feel that way they should probably seek employment elsewhere. Best Mexican dishes in Murray! Here's a hint, when you get your pre-meal chips and salsa, ask for the cheese dip as well! It's a little extra but well worth it! The new location is really nice not only is it easier to get to the atmosphere is bright, much more spacious, and cheerful. Went to a friend's birthday party recently and everyone seemed to enjoy the food. My DH is not a fan of the salsa, but then he doesn't care for ANYTHING spicy. I thought my Quesadilla was fantastic. Manager and waitress were also very nice. We had to wait almost 25 minutes for a table on a Friday night. I was in Murray for a visit with my sister, my sister was craving Tex-Mex, so Los Portales seemed like a reasonable choice. When my party and I walked in, we were greeted with fast and friendly service and were quickly seated. We were immediately given chips and mild salsa, which my party quickly took care of. Refills of drinks, chips and salsa were provided speedily and without hesitation. I ordered the Quesadilla Grande, which, to its name, is a large quesadilla (10 in) with a side of rice. It took about ten minutes to get my party's meals cooked and to our table. The only thing that bothered me is that the waiter precariously carried our dishes on his arm and shoulder, but he managed to pull the trick off (surprisingly), so no qualms there. My food was nice and hot. The chicken in my quesadilla was excellently cooked and was nice and tender, as was the tortilla. There were adequate spices within my dish and overall. All-in-all, I had an excellent experience at this restaurant, and should I ever be in Murray again, I will surely visit this eatery once more. read more

This seems to stick in my top list of places to go when I'm thinking of where to eat. The food is always great and usually the drinks are good also. Sometimes they over pour the alcohol, which most people wouldn't complain about, but sometimes it's not appropriate to have that extra shot. read more

I have been here several times over about a year. Most recently in March 2017. Great service every time. The food is consistently good. The wife said she didn't like a meal once, just to be fair and give a full review. I have never had a meal I didn't like. Portions are just right and the chips and salsa helps fill any potential gap, not that I've had any in meal vs hunger. I've had better Mexican, not in Murray, but in other places I've lived. Decided I wanted Mexican food for my birthday dinner with my family and so I looked up Mexican places online and just chose this place on a whim. I was first very pleasantly surprised by just how nice the place looks when you get inside. Very good ambiance. They of course serve chips and salsa which was very good. I ordered some type of burrito with beef in it and it was delicious and really hit the spot. Great portion sizes. Went again not that long ago, ordered the same thing and it was just as good as the first time. Friendly service as well. Will definitely be a restaurant I frequent. read more

This is the best Mexican place in Murray hands down. The servers are always extremely helpful and make sure you always have plenty of chips and salsa and your drink stays full. They have awesome prices with very few things being over $10. My favorite dish there is the Chile Colorado, the sauce is on point and the beef tips are always very tender. The Chicken, Queso, and Rice is also very good, the meat is very favorable and their cheese sauce is very creamy! Thursday night was my first visit to this location. I must say that from the moment we parked our vehicle, I was impressed with the exterior and landscaping. But the inside is even more impressive. The colorful tiles on the walls and trim, beautiful tile floors, professional looking, friendly staff, all added to the experience. I ordered chicken fajita quesadilla and it was the best I have ever had. The chips were crisp, the salsa was delicious...all in all I give it 5 stars. Great service, as well. This was an ok place. I ordered the T-bone special. They didn't ask how I wanted my steak cooked, which I didn't realize until it was too late. The included "salad" was mass produced coleslaw which was not great. The steak ended up over cooked and over salted. Might be my fault for ordering a steak at a Mexican spot. One of the best restaurant I ever tried in US. I have tried fish fajita, cheese steak, grilled tilapia (fish). All of them are awesome. Even my friends tried different dishes they all were so delicious. Highly recommend it ;) read more
