This place is always fresh and delicious. The burritos and taco salads are huge! There are multiple options and ingredients so everyone can find something that they will enjoy. I'm really excited that they now have house frozen margaritas and various beers to enjoy. What's even better is that they deliver (even alcoholic drinks!). Oh, I almost forgot about the salsa bar - all 3 options are delicious. This place was my favorite before I moved out of state and I always grab food here when I'm in town. I used to be a "several times a week" customer at the Paducah Burrito Shack location until they closed. I had been craving Burrito Shack for weeks so on my day off I headed over to the Murray location for the first time. The guys working that greeted me and helped me with my order were super nice and welcoming. I ordered the naked burrito, which is essentially a burrito bowl like at a chipotle or Qdoba. Rice, beans, chicken, all the veggies, a chipotle ranch sauce, and of course the famous pineapple salsa. The thing I love more about Burrito Shack than it's corporate competitors is how fresh the veggies are. The pico, jalapeños, guac, are all so fresh and it really levels the experience up a notch. I think this is a great place to take friends for lunch or a great spot to hit before you go out for the night. I'll definitely be heading back over to Murray soon for my fix! read more

I think that there is something missing from The Burrito Shack. I came here this past weekend and figured it a promising, cheap, quick, tasty meal since it was right near, or on campus. I ordered a large steak burrito with mushrooms and onions and peppers-which was an added dollar up charge and got a combo with chips. My buddy got a small chicken burrito but got a large tub of guacomole added to his combo. My friend sat down and started eating earlier than I did since my burrito was loaded up with so many veggies that it required multiple attempts and tortillas to try to wrap it up in. I think the person that took my order was new and instead of having someone else take over a person who I believe was the manager let him continue as a learning experience, which is something I would be okay with if it was someone else's burrito but I got mine and it had already kind of cooled off. I barely sat down when my friend said that that the guacomole was the worst he's had ever. He's given to hyperbole so I tried it out and I had to agree, it wasn't that the flavors were bad it was that there was no flavor at all. The guacomole was just a flavorless green paste with no taste in it. I think that it was a prepackaged serving but even supermarket guacs I've had tasted better. Similarly, my steak was missing something as well, we both agreed that the adobo was lacking and it didn't enhance the meats well. I know there are better places in Murray and little disappointed we ended up here to eat. read more

My husband and I visit every couple of weeks. We like the freshness of the ingredients and the homemade salsa. Today, when we visited, my husband and I ordered the exact same item. While mine looked delicious and generous in portion his was about half the size. He mentioned the difference to the cashier. The cashier offered to add more to his salad several times. My husband declined his offer. As we were eating, he comes up and apologizes again and mentioned that he refunded his food. A business that responds (& acts) to criticism, is a business that will have loyal customers. Well done, Burrito Shack!!!! read more

Been here several times for lunch, it is an easy walk if you are on campus. I have never been disappointed with the food or service. I have had burritos and a taco salad, but have not tried the fish anything (just not a fan of fish tacos). I hear fish tacos are really good for those with that affliction. I have not been back to one of the chain burrito places since moving to Murray, but the prices here seem just a bit higher than I remember at the chain places. The staff is really great and friendly, always ready to answer a question. Lunch rush is crazy so there may be a long line. The slaw sounded gross, but I really liked it on my burrito. They have a ton of sauce options and I haven't found one that I dislike. The sweet pineapple salsa is a must try. read more

Usually have a good experience here but today it was terrible. Quarantine is no excuse to let the quality of your service go down. I posted an order using the new app and didn't receive my beverage. I politely asked about it, not wanting to seem rude, and was quickly dismissed as not ordering one. Even though it was plain as day on the receipt. This is a great, local eatery. Granted, I teach at Murray State, and I can walk there from my apartment, and from my office on campus, so that may explain why I end up here a lot. However, the food is consistently good, and the staff is courteous and professional. This restaurant operates in the style of Willies, Barbaritos, etc. You queue up in front of a counter, select burrito, quesadilla, taco, or salad, and then move down the line adding various meats and/or veggies. The combo comes with chips and a drink. Everything I have tried has been adequate to excellent - with burritos, they steam the tortilla, and sometimes they can get a bit soggy and doughy; the quesadilla is my favorite, and while it takes a bit longer to prepare (they heat it in a sandwich press), it is excellent; the chips are thin, slightly warm, and not too oily. They have a variety of salsas for your chips, and a house made fruit tea, all of which make it stand out a bit from a "chain" restaurant. The decor and seating are ample and friendly, and a bit eclectic (water feature inside the restaurant, hammock swing seating). Finally, they offer a "frequent diner" card that will earn you a free meal after you eat there a number of times. All in all, I welcome local businesses that provide consistent quality food at an affordable price. read more

I love the Burrito Shack! It is one of my favorite places to eat in Murray. Most of the restaurants in Murray have a wide selection of intensely greasy food, so the Burrito Shack is a nice change of pace. Although I don't feel like I would choose it over Qdoba, that doesn't matter because there is of course not a Qdoba in Murray. Their burritos are decently sized (although I have heard several complaints from friends that they are too small). The price is decent, but maybe a little high compared to other restaurants in Murray. The taste is very fresh. They have several varieties of salsa. I have only tried mild and it was quite delicious! They also have quick and friendly service. Its not the kind of place to go for a "dining experience" since you order at the counter, but it does make for some great take out. Their location (by the gates on campus) also makes for the perfect lunch location if you're on campus. read more

This is like the local, less-corporate edition of Qdoba or Chipotle. I have been here quite a few times, just never gotten around to doing a write-up. If you are in the middle of campus at Murray State, this is your best bet! Of course, I always have to go with fish tacos and they are GREAT! As good as any that you'll find. They fry the fish when you order it and you can tell it is done fresh. I also had chips and guacamole (if you watch Rhett & Link, you'll always know how to spell it...) The chips & guac was fairly basic. Not bad, but not notable. The prices are fair, the decor and atmosphere are good. They have a salsa bar that is kept cold and that's always good to try lots of different kinds. They hype up the pineapple salsa, it's good, but so are the others. I came just after lunch, but things were a little dirty and it didn't appear as though anyone was in a hurry to come out and wipe things down. read more

I was back in town for a reunion and tried to try this place out. I've eaten at some wonderful burrito places that weren't chains and was hoping for good things. I was greatly disappointed. I ordered a chicken burrito and a cheese quesadilla. The burrito when finished wrapped in foil was no bigger than a hot dog in a bun wrapped in foil. The chicken was cut into big chunks, not really seasoned and very dry. If I was to give the burrito a letter grade it would get a F-. The quesadilla was filled with what looked like shredded cheese I would buy from Kroger and was just toasted on the sides which made it so dry it was like eating cardboard. The effort was lacking and I received about $2.50 with of food and they charged me over $9.00 for it. I would never eat there again. read more

Rode the Harley to Murray and decided to take the plunge. This place is simple, friendly and have some of Kentucky's best craft brew, West Sixth IPA. I ordered a veggie burrito with black beans and all the fixings. I had to get a fork to finish it. Hot salsa is good but the habanero salsa is the perfect blend of flavor and spice... Just hot enough to make your lips burn. The pineapple salsa is wonderful also. Fresh, spicy, friendly and good beer... My new favorite place to eat in Murray Kentucky. read more

If you are looking for a "Chipotle-like" or "Qudoba-like" place to eat in Murray this is the only place to go. The Burritos are good and fresh. Be warned though they have some of the hottest jalapenos I have eaten! Good queso and the salsa is all their own recipe and fresh. read more

Very good burrito. Lots of flavor. Plenty of options to choose from. I got the chicken burrito on the Chipotle wrap. Chicken was moist and flavorful. The pico was on point. I got the combo, so it comes with a drink and chips. Chips had perfect crispness. They had a unique salsa bar that included pineapple, mild, hot, and habenero salsas. I tried all but habenero. They all had great taste, even the pineapple. I will definitely go back. Maybe next time I'll try the Punisher challenge. 5 burritos, 3 gets your picture on the wall. 5 is the goal. read more

I was at Burrito Shack a few days ago and found myself and a friend of mine being harassed by one of the employees. It was someone that we knew personally but didn't want to let our bad relationship get in the way of us enjoying dinner at Burrito Shack. While we were just enjoying our meal ignoring them, the employee took the liberty to slam doors and drag chairs around as well as constantly staring at us while he was wiping down tables. We just ignored him but as we were walking out the door he called out to us, from across the restaurant (while he had customers with him) and was asking us a lot of questions and just making a scene. I love Burrito Shack's food and come often, but will not continue to go to a place where I am harassed. read more
