Stopped in for breakfast. The lady who took our order didn't really speak English, and after some effort and confirming, she still got the order wrong. To make matters worse, food took a while to come out and it was lukewarm when it did. I get it is a mom and pop establishment, but execution leaves a lot to be desired. Friendliest service ever! My coffee cup never went empty and the staff was so helpful with packing to-go boxes and little cups of salsa. While there was a wait (small restaurant), the food was great (lots of flavor in the breakfast burrito) and with good portions. Nice local Mexican restaurant with wonderful service and none of that Seawall "tourist trap" vibe. Definitely coming back! read more

First, I am from San Antonio and am more than familiar with how to rate Mexican food. That being said the food here is not as good as the star ratings imply. I wholeheartedly disagree on a number of accounts (chicken was bland, steak was plain, beans were a 5 out of 10,...). I would not recommend. Second, the restaurant is more run down than the usual "taco house." Restrooms we're very dirty, including a 4-inch roach. Save yourself the disappointment and eat somewhere else. read more

Went in for lunch on a Sunday. Wasn't very busy. Our first time there. Lady at counter looked at us when we came in and never said a word. The address on Yelp is incorrect. It's actually at 6705 Stewart. When we drove past sister-in-law said "no way" because outside it needs some paint and parking lot work. I insisted based on the 5 star review on Yelp and everyone was very satisfied and complimentary. My only reservation was the under cooked potatoes. Everyone else, the other 3, liked them but I like my crispy and well cooked. The wife had quesadillas while the rest had breakfast. She said the tortillas were crispy with tender chicken inside. They served a good green sauce, no red sauce offered but it wasn't necessary the green sauce was great. read more

Primo's is an authentic Mexican cafe/taqueria AND it's really close to my home! The breakfast menu is pretty extensive, including my favorite, Huevos con Machacado. My husband had one of their breakfast burritos and was impressed by the gigantic size and homemade-tasting flour tortilla. My corn tortillas were the typical store bought kind found in most places, but the Machacado had just the right chewy texture, with the perfect ratio of eggs, peppers, and onions. The refried beans are great- loaded with lard! The potatoes weren't crispy, but very tender and perfect to offset the heat from the excellent salsa verde. It's not for the faint of heart! Most of the clientele are Hispanic, so the staff are not super proficient in English. We speak Spanish, so not a problem. However, the food is good enough that I wouldn't stay away if I only spoke English. The only disappointment was the tamarindo agua fresca - too sweet for our taste. Prices are very reasonable. Most breakfast plates cost around $5.75. They are now open evenings as well as breakfast and lunch. We can't wait to go back for some barbacoa! read more

WAITED 1 HOUR for a very plain breakfast. Place is TINY--only about 6 cramped tables. Felt stuffy inside w what seemed like a window unit. Unisex RR is working, but undergoing repairs (unfinished floor, tools, etc). One overworked waitress trying to serve, clean tables, answer phone calls, check out customers and dispatch to-go orders. Maybe it was just a bad day for them--but they definitely need to have more cooks on weekends (or give customers a heads up on staff shortage before wasting their time). read more

Just a heads up with anyone with a Service Dog. They are not friendly to people with disabilities using a Service Dog! Even after all explanations able access with Service dogs and showing them ADA print outs they were very rude. We did finally get to eat at the restaurant but it was definitely not an enjoyable experience. I actually had customers come to my table as they were leaving and tell me they were sorry I had to endure all that drama. read more

Awesome unpretentious authentic Mexican food! It's small, only 7 tables, but they make up for it with quality food. Everything I tried was obviously cooked up from scratch (except for the bottle of water). If you are not looking for the humor and disappointment of corporate America restaurants, this one is for you. Unfortunately they are only open for breakfast and lunch. Otherwise, I would be right back here tonight! I had the migas a la Mexicana for breakfast today, which were excellent, and the Carne Guisada for lunch yesterday. Recommend both! read more

Los Primos was a little expensive.. About 8.00 a plate and 3.00 for tea. The atmosphere was very hole in the wall and the food was about average. I'm sorry but would not stop again. For the food the price was a bit high. read more
