It's been a great while since I've been here. Came in on a Saturday for lunch. The place wasn't busy at all. The atmosphere was cold, areas were clean. Walked in to order and the lady at the register was nice. We ordered a Burro Del Mar (shrimp burrito) and 5 Taquitos (supreme rolled tacos). While we waited, we got our salsa at the salsa bar and helped ourselves to warm chips to go with it. The various salsas were delicious and the chips, nice and crisp. The shrimp burrito looked great but the shrimp was sparse. It was more of a cabbage burrito than shrimp. The taquitos however, were delicious! Going supreme was definitely the best way to go. The salsa fresca they pile on top are always fresh, which makes a huge difference. Their Philly Queso Burrito is a must-try, and their habanero and red sauces are fantastic. The store is always clean and feels authentically Los Primos. The parking lot is also a decent size, which is a bonus. I've gotten takeout here many times and enjoyed the food. Service today was great and the ambiance is nice. But today I got to my car and their Baja Fish Burrito was so terrible I actually got angry. Though an enormous burrito, the batter fried fish in this Thing was entombed in tons of bland rice dry rice and flavorless dry olla beans and if the promised pico, cilantro, and guacamole were present, I couldn't locate them. Taco Tuesday! Primos is right by my work and they have some daily specials. I ordered the two hard shell tacos for $4 each. One beef and one chicken. Opted for dine in and had some chips & salsa. They are protective of the salsa cups and I understand why because the salsa is really good. Even the mild salsa has a lil kick to it. Primos has warm chips that you can dish out yourself. Looks like they were training two new employees and they were both very nice. The food did take some time even though it wasn't too busy but they could have been dealing with ToGo orders. Not crazy about the fact that I asked for no cheese on the tacos and you could see lil cheese bits in the lettuce. Not great for someone who is deathly allergic to dairy. The taco shells were thick and crispy and both were packed with meat which is always nice. Love the wall with all the album covers that have burritos photoshopped in. Really funny and cute. This was my first time here. I ordered the Mulitas. They are on special from 11-2pm. You get two Mulitas for $9. If you have never had them, try it. I asked for corn tortillas. I guess they make them in flour also. These Mulitas are filled with the meat of your choice. I thought the carne asada was flavorful. It also has cheese, which I don't think they put enough. It also has beans in it. Which I am not use to having inside a mulita. Over all the food was good. My favorite part of their food is the sauce station. They have some spice hot sauce. I love it. Their carrots and grilled onions are good too. Last, I love the fresh chips they have. All self served and free. My food was made fast and brought to my table. So I would say the service is good. Great place for mexican style fast food. I come mostly for the tacos- the basics- carnitas, carne asada, pollo asada, adobada, fish, shrimp. They have taco specials on Tuesdays and Wednesdays which make it worthwhile. The ingredients are fresh. If you do have a bigger appetite, you can get one of their monster burritos but honestly, it's way too much for me and I'm somewhat of a purist so I generally don't get the creative burritos. I remembered a "Los Primos" from my college days, and they briefly made it up to Orange County, so when I saw this was down the street from me I had to give it a try. Though it appears this place has rebranded as just "Primos" it's still essentially the same menu. I ordered a steak (carne asada) California Burrito and steak (carne asada) fries. Their California's come with guac and sour cream, not what I'm used to but a welcomed addition. I forgot which salsa I liked best since it had been years, and got one of each. Both red and green salsas were tasty and about medium heat. The horchata could use some work, and tasted like the store bought carton kind. Service was fast, as in what you'd expect at any fast food joint. The ambiance is that of an Americanized beach hut taco shop. Now the sticker shock came at checkout when I paid $35 for two to-go items and a drink. It was a little excessive for a taco shop but I was starving and just swiped the card. I thought maybe their burritos were massive, included rice and beans, chips and salsa, or something special. NOPE! Just a regular sized burrito, maybe even in the smaller size, for $18! Their carne asada fries were a good size, pretty heavy, and might have been worth the $15.50 if they weren't mostly beans. Well that's the last time I take a trip down memory lane to Los Primos. I guess they must be recouping their losses from the failed spot in Fountain Valley. Nothing was bad, it was all decent food, but definitely not worth the price and nothing was memorable. This place deserves a better rating than they have. I have been very impressed by the quality of food I have tried the past few weeks here at Los Primos. Taco Tuesday special was very solid, I tried the Carne Asada, carnitas, fish, and the adobada. Carnitas came out on top but all the tacos were filled to the max with meat and all the toppings that you should get on a taco. Really solid quantity for the price, I struggled to finish 4 tacos. The shining star for me is the 619 breakfast burrito. They don't advertise it but the detail that stands out above all is that they use cracked eggs in the burrito. I cannot say if the other breakfast burritos use real eggs but it makes a big difference for me. I've been back for that burrito twice and will venture to try the ridiculously large menu items they offer. read more

Decent little taco shop in the middle of a bunch of businesses. This place can be packed during lunch time, but it's the only mexican food around so it's worth it. The service here is great, and they have a large menu that could satisfy anyone. They have a few salsas and chips available for grabs at your own convenience. The food here I thought was just average, I really enjoyed the rice and beans and loved how crunchy the rolled tacos were. Unfortunately the guacamole was a big disappointment, tasted like bag guacamole that you could get at the store. It wasn't good, it was not homemade fresh guacamole that we all love. The guacamole definitely ruined the rolled tacos in my opinion.
