    Pollo en salsa Verde

I have lived in the neighborhood for some time now, I went into the gas station and it was like walking into a club, liquor store / taqueria lol. I was a little hesitant about buying food here but the menu was authentic and home Mexican meals. I decided to judge hard and start with testing 3 tamales! I was NOT disappointed!! The tamales are moist, have the right amount of salsa and meat! I was extremely impressed and will be coming back for some champurado! Once I go back I will post pictures of the menu!

I got the California Burrito. It was delicious. It was also large and big enough to share. The only thing I would change is less cilantro.

Super fresh my new favorite Mexican joint. Carne asada was made fresh. I will be going back soon. Friendly people.

I simply can't comprehend how they get 4 stars. Service: friendly but slow. It took a while to get someone to our table and the ordering is fairly slow. Food - Chicken sandwich: thin slice of chicken with brie but the caramelized red onions were so sour...it destroyed everything. I absolutely didn't like it. - the worst was the Greek salad. cheap mixed green (including cores/root), literally 1 tablespoon of feta cheese sprinkled over it, 4 cherry tomatoes, maybe 8 olives cut in half, a slice of bread and that's it, for $17. They should be ashamed to serve this. This is inadmissible for the price. Not recommended.

It has changed hands a couple of times over the last 10-15 years. We regularly ate here as part of our Vista rotation for breakfast/lunch, but we had a poor experience a little over a year ago, so this was our first time back to see how things were. I lasted Yelp reviewed in 2018. There still is a small counter for service inside along with four tables for four and one table for two. Six or so outside tables for service also. One table inside occupied and two outside when we entered. We were greeted by a very pleasant wait staff who were extremely helpful and efficient. We had waters, coffee, Tea, very quickly. Coffee was very good with an assortment of creamers to choose from. I ordered a special Omelet with Chorizo and cheese off their chock board. Side of fruit ($2.50 up charge) instead of potatoes along with Rye Toast. The Toast was just one slice of bread. $17. My better half had the pancake combo, two pancakes with two eggs over easy, one sausage patty. $14.50. We enjoyed the food and service. The prices were fair for the portions and quality of what we ordered. We will add Mom's back into our Vista rotation.

Our server Jared really made us feel welcome. He offered great suggestions, answered questions and made sure we had everything we needed to have an exceptional dining experience. He checked on us frequently in such warm and friendly way - he really made our day. The Brunch Point venue is open and airy (great breeze blowing through), clean and contemporary. The outside patio is comfortable and perfect mix of shade and sun. Excellent food choices with really creative (and delicious) options - sweet savory or spicy. Fresh ingredients prepared with the perfect touches make for delicious dining! Our food came quickly and was perfect and beautiful too. Nice cocktail choices and non-alcohol cocktails too. See pics of my BP waffle below it was a complete work of art! Delicious too! The help yourself coffee bar is a brilliant idea. Never wait for coffee! There were about 8 coffee choices, both caf and decaf. Hubby said coffee was very good, unfortunately the containers ran dry too quickly and I never tried any. Next time! Right now their hours are 8 am -3pm. Yummy breakfast/brunch all day - and super reasonable specials too - look for chalkboard with specials. They are hoping to make dinner again in the near future. You have to try this place! So good! We will be returning again (and again) very soon.

The potatoes were overly fried, too crunchy, and practically guaranteed to cause digestion issues. The atmosphere was worse than the food. A neighboring table was belligerently drunk and loudly using the N-word; instead of addressing it, my waiter and another staff member joined in, high-fiving them and encouraging the crass behavior. It was incredibly unprofessional and unwelcoming. To the waiter's credit, he told me not to pay, but the misrepresented steak, hard potatoes, and the toxic environment made it a total loss. I left feeling disappointed that this is how a business chooses to operate. It was a nightmare of a breakfast. Needs significantly more "New York Strip" and significantly less "public disturbance with attitude."

The food tastes genuinely homemade and wholesome, like real care went into every step. I was a little worried the Deli Rose sandwich might be heavy, but it was absolute perfection. The iced green mate is grown and prepared by them and is smooth, refreshing, and genuinely calming. You can taste the intention behind everything, from the house made breads to the home grown vegetables and simple, wholesome ingredients that let the food shine. There is a religious or communal aspect behind The Yellow Deli, and I do not claim to know or understand all of it, nor do I need to. What I do love and admire is the home grown, homemade, back to nature feel of their community and how much of that care and love clearly shows up in the food, the space, and the overall experience. This is not a loud or rushed deli. It is a place to sit, linger, and enjoy. The patio is charming, the yellow building is iconic, and the service is warm and kind. You can tell the people here truly love what they do, and it shows.

When we initially got there and got seated, the young man that walked us to our table, walked away when pointing us to our table, I thanked him, but he seemed pretty unhappy.
