Hands down BEST place to get nachos in Oceanside. The bean and cheese burrito is SOLID too. They're generous, friendly, great music always playing (especially when they are playing love songs), the chef is always doing his thang and the girls are GREAT. I LOVE the carne asada and carnitas nachos, I highly recommend the nachos, my new thing is the American version of the sour cream and guacamole (Don't know what it's called but it's AMAZING in the bean and cheese burrito.

Low C-Tier Mexican food. I got a California burrito and a large Diet Coke for $16.32. Refills are $1.75. Eeek. The burrito was pretty flavorless, and the salsas they gave didn't add much. The cheese wasn't melted in the burrito. This a low 3, bordering on a 2. Service: What you'd expect. Ambience: What you'd expect from a hole in the wall place, bordering on the grungy side. There's no reason to go here when Mi Asador exists.

I have long been coming here for years . . . once last year, once the year before and once the year before that, etc. They have my all-time favorite Pollo Asado burrito. It is a fajita-styled burrito and is excellent and rather large. They also have great carrots and salsas too. That's just about all I ever get. Maybe a quesadilla too. Super friendly staff and speedy too. Stop by here "too" . Dicks

I had high expectations for this place as they share the name Kotija with Kotija Jr. Taco Shop out in Encinitas which serves hands-down the best fish tacos I've had in north county. I do wonder if they are related somehow? On this day I only ordered three carne asada tacos. The price for each seemed kind of high (almost $6) but I wanted to try them anyway. They were "okay" - nothing spectacular. Each taco came with two corn tortillas, so we actually divided one taco into two separate tacos but an easier bite. Still, I would have prefered a street taco style, for half the price for each. Service was good, and quick. They gave me three red & three green salsas which was nice, as well as a grilled jalapeno. Overall not too bad.

To taco combination with Lengua and Cabeza and it is absolutely delicious

This is a wonderful place. People are very nice and the food is just awesome! The prices are what they are. Everything seems to cost a little bit more. But these are very big tacos which thrilled me. Thank you so much Lorena. I guess this is an addition to the last time I was here because it won't let me do another review. It's just letting me add to the current review so this taco one was from last week and today I got the quesadilla picture to follow. Now they charge almost 4 dollars more for shrimp, but I have to say that it is cooked perfectly and juicy and there's plenty of of it. So I think totally worth it. However, for a quesadilla, it seems kind of lacking in the cheese department which surprises me.

They have the best molcajete and fajitas around, at the best prices. We are here just to see if Cocina Del Mar is better. Long story short: it's not. However, their ceviche is AMAZING. Best ceviche I have had in north county San Diego outside of Dija Mara (which has the best ceviche in the known universe). It is extremely fresh and not overpowered by acidity, fishy smells or rubbery shrimp. The ceviche here is legit. Great. AND ONLY $10 (for cameron). If you order anything here, get the ceviche first. I'm anxious to try their aguachile now. We also ordered the fajitas ("suprema" with chicken, steak and shrimp). Fajitas did not come out sizzling at all. I have never seen this before. Also, there were only two shrimp. The steak/carne was bland and dry. Not great. Wife ordered the Sopes (3) and mother ordered the Enchiladas Cameron. The sopes were okay, but a bit bland. Wife had to salt everything on the plate. The enchiladas had a sauce my mom said was too sweet. She wasn't a fan. For all three dishes to be a miss is completely strange considering the sheer number of 5-star reviews. I want to believe. We must have come on an off-day, but the place was busy. Quite a few larger parties were here, so this place is popular with the natives. We also grabbed a Model and a Corona. Only $5 for the beers! Total for everything came to $117.64 (with tip). I would absolutely come back for the ceviche and to give them another shot by trying a different dish. I snapped pics of the menu so you can see the latest prices. Check it out.

It's a true family-style operation--one owner personally takes your order while the other is in the kitchen cooking everything fresh, and you can taste that attention to detail in every bite. Not great, necessarily, but good and the prices are some of the best around. They have a ton of options, and lots of drinks, including beer. We were just picking up, and it was a very hot day. The restaurant didn't have any air-conditioning so it was quite warm inside. Most people were eating outside. We'll be back again to try some other menu items given that their prices are generally pretty good.

As a Cali Native now living in…read morethe great state of Texas, sometimes it's refreshing to step outside the land of Tex‑Mex and get the real deal again. Colima's hits that spot every single time. When you walk in, the person behind the counter greets you immediately -- and not the dry "hi, what can I get you?" type of greeting. You get a full "¡Buenos días, mija!" with that warm, almost‑grito energy that makes you feel like you just walked into your tío's spot instead of a restaurant. Super friendly, super natural, and very SoCal. I ordered the rolled tacos plate and wow... esa porción estaba gigante. I couldn't finish it. What I loved most was the meat; this is what meat is supposed to taste like. The beef was seasoned the way we grew up eating it: a little salty, a little savory, with that slow‑cooked tenderness that lets you know it didn't come from some pre‑bagged, mystery‑meat situation. You get hints of garlic, a little cumin, and that warm, almost toasty flavor that comes from meat that's actually been browned, not steamed. It tasted like someone's abuela was in the back saying, "No, no, déjalo dorar un poquito más. And the corn tortillas? Perfect. Thin enough to get that crisp roll, thick enough not to shatter. None of that flour‑tortilla‑trying‑to‑be‑crispy nonsense. These were crunchy, flavorful, and loaded. The toppings were just as good. The guacamole tasted fresh. You could taste the real avocado which was creamy, a little chunky, with lime that actually tasted like lime and not concentrate. The red salsa had a legit kick to it. It had hints of roasted chiles, was smoky and had a slightly bitter edge that tells you they actually roasted them instead of just tossing raw peppers into a blender. It wasn't tourist spicy; it was SoCal Mexican‑restaurant spicy, which is a whole different category. My partner ordered a breakfast burrito and honestly? That thing could've fed three people. It was massive, stuffed to the brim with cheese, egg, potatoes, and fresh bacon and exactly what a SoCal breakfast burrito should be: simple, hearty, and no shortcuts. Between the portions, the flavor, and the service that feels like home, this spot stays on my list every time I'm in Oceanside. If you're craving real Mexican food and not Tex‑Mex, pull up. You'll leave full and happy. #supportlocal
