Well, I haven't been here in a few years because of traveling but had delivery about a month ago and remembered how much I liked it, great burgers, great rings... fries are OK. But what I loved about this location is it had a couple little tables outside and a couple inside she could actually eat your food as it comes off the grill. Well for some reason that has all changed and there are just two chairs which didn't really feel right eating my lunch there so I brought it home and suffered the not right off the grill taste. I'm sure there's a reason, but the burger was still great and it's still on my list for one of the good ones down here. Update, the owner who's a wonderful woman told me the reason that there is no inside dining is a city issue not her choice. Best thing here were the onion rings. Burger was good, but expensive. I ordered a single mushroom and Swiss burger. I missed texture...wish it had some crisp lettuce or some crispy onions or something. The real downer was no seating here. If I'm paying that much for a burger, I expect a seat. My kid is a smash burger connoisseur, and Crispy Burger tops the list of crispiest, most delicious burger in the area. For a spot that's kind of inconveniently located without any seating, Crispy Burger is poppin! Very busy, and the man on the grill didn't stop smashing burgers the entire 20 minutes we were in there. The menu is extensive and very customizable. Not in the mood for a burger? No problem. There's also egg breakfast sandwiches served all day. Why is this place called crispy burgers, should be mushy burgers. Way over rated and how. My son didn't even eat his burger after one bite, he will eat at all cheap fast food burgers, I have never seen him not eat a burger. Meat is whatever, cheese sucks, fries boring. Staff was nice. Almost falling apart from all the fats, exactly what you expect from a burger. 4/5 1/2 fries and onion rings: Fries looked to be coated in a batter, which had a different texture than straight fried potatoes. Some friends of mine insisted on bringing me here even though I'm not a big burger guy and I absolutely see why now. I love that they have Impossible Burgers as an option. To be honest, I had no idea what a crispy burger was. Apparently they roll the meat into a ball and smash it down for cooking. Honestly I thought that the idea of thousand island dressing on a burger sounded strange but I decided to go with it and end up loving it. It was delicious and obviously unlike any burger I'd had before. They also cook the fries in avocado oil, which was also something I hadn't experienced before (but also loved). This is a very small place where you just grab your food and go. We got our burgers and ate them at the nearby beach. Highly recommend this burger if you're in the area!! It tastes very similar to Shake Shack, but a much bigger portion. The buns are soft brioche buns and the patties are perfectly cooked, smashed, and crispy. Also the regular fries is a HUGE portion, definitely perfect for sharing with a family. The service was so nice and you can tell they really care about their customers. There are no tables inside of the restaurant, so be warned that this isn't a sit-down place! I found myself down in Kearny Mesa one bright sunny San Diego day (they all tend to be bright/sunny) when the tummy began to bark at me. He was starting to get mean to. A quick Yelp search for eateries was my next move. Now, if you know San Diego, you will know that the Kearny Mesa area is most well-known for its incredible Asian cuisine. There are numerous tasty Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and more and I honestly do not think I have ever eaten at a "bad" spot down there! On this day however...I simply was not feelin the Asian persuasion. I do not usually crave a burger but today was not usual. Lo and behold, up on my screen yelped a highly regarded burger joint called, "Eat Crispy Burger". Also not usual to find an eatery that has a name which literally commands you to eat. I replied to my screen, "OK...OK! I got it! Crispy Burgers is going to get a shot at the big time today!" A quick call home revealed that my two younger kids were also hungry so I got there order as well. It was at this time I noticed they have several franchises open around the county and I reckoned it would be better to drive to my home city and hit up the local "Eat Crispy Burgers" right there in Oceanside. About 2/3 of the way home I noticed my gas light was on and a glance to the gas monitor revealed absolutely nothing left in my tank. It was reading 0!!! As fast and safe, as I could, I did a 4 Lane change on the I-5 exiting in Leucadia. I made it to the Chevron and filled up. As I made my way back toward the freeway once again, out of the corner of my eye a sign glimmers. It read, wouldn't you know..."Eat Crispy Burgers". I had discovered there Encinitas store. I was not going to wait for another sign...this was amazing! I ran inside, threw down my order. She was a friendly gal but when I retold my story that I just told to you above, she did not share in my jubilee! Hmmm. One less star! I am kidding. She was all business and she took my order, offered me a Butterfinger shake (I am a total sucka for shake! I finally made it home and distributed the goods. Kids loved their slider meal. (Think kid's meal but with sliders or mini-burgers (2)). My teen daughter ordered the original burger combo and equally enjoyed it. (She did stop herself from saying it was the best she's had). I had the "Cowboy Combo". Bacon, melted cheese and onion rings on the double patties and let me tell you something Pard'na. Yes Haw!!! good stuff, however, like my teenager, as much as I enjoyed it, I am not a HUGE fan of the smashed style of burger. Fries by the way? With the stress of moving in between LA and San Diego, finding a good place for a break can be a challenge. I decided to stop by based on a suggestion from a friend, and I do not regret this decision at all. I stopped by a little early just around opening, and the kind woman at the counter switched up the menu for me to view what was available for lunch. I don't even remember what I ordered, but what I can say is that it was AMAZING. Maybe it was partly the customer service and me being hungry, but it's a really well-made burger, and the onion rings were just right. Some places will cut the rings to super thick slices which will end up breaking up the breading, but these were perfect. This location is a ways out from where I live, but I'm definitely going to stop by when I head back to LA again. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed. read more

I have had this place bookmarked for a while and I finally tried it and was very impressed. It's to go only so grab some food and hit the beach down the street for a nice sunset view. I saw several other crispy burger bags in the trash at the beach which tells me others know what's up! My boyfriend got the triple all American style and I got the OG double. I liked both but mine was better. We also shared the crispy crazy fries which were like animal style but better. We had so many leftovers too and the prices were decent compared to other spots. Delicious!!!! I finally tried this place after seeing it recommended many times on the San Diego Celiacs FB group. And I was blown away! My burger was absolutely delicious, crispy and wonderful and I definitely could not tell it was gluten free. I had my husband try a piece of mine and he said it was just as good as the gluten burger. They took celiac precautions and changed gloves and had a separate fryer for gluten free items, my only complaint was that they didn't bag my order separately, which is an extra step to help prevent cross contamination. The fries were seriously some of the best fries I've ever had. The crisp on them was absolute perfection. Not too salty and just the right amount of flavor. Overall a solid meal. The American burger was pretty good, if not a little basic. The smash patties were delicious. A little bit on the salty side. I may have enjoyed the Classic OG crispy burger more on second thought. Maybe I need to come back here and try it again. The burger itself isn't too expensive compared to the price of McDonald's nowadays, but once you start adding sides and milkshakes it gets to be pretty pricy. The milkshakes are on the expensive side at $9 (almost as much as the burger). One big downside is that there is absolutely no indoor/outdoor seating available here. OG double crispy burger ($8.99): Patties smashed super flat and crispy. I could not actually taste the thousand Island sauce, but the grilled onions were mixed in the super gooey decadent cheese. I think the fries had a light batter that added an extra layer of flavor. Everything was deep fried in avocado oil, so that means this side is healthy right??
